Confirmed 174

Rockstar officially confirmed Justice's “Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score” — 30 tracks, releasing 11 December on streaming, CD and vinyl, after the game itself.

Rockstar itself officially confirmed (Newswire, 10/29) “Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score” — the original score composed by French duo Justice (already known from c-257) — a SEPARATE release from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (34 licensed-artist tracks, 11/19, c-192). The official announcement CORRECTS the original number: the Original Score contains 30 tracks (not 50, as the New Zealand Apple Music listing suggested on 10/28) plus digital bonus tracks, releasing December 11 on streaming, CD (two discs), and vinyl (three LPs; special edition with clear vinyl). Rockstar describes it as an “adaptive score”, with compositions “dynamically tuned to the different ways players interact with the world of Vice City and Leonida” across Jason and Lucia's story. Two tracks are already out: “Flower in a Hurricane” (c-257/song-47) and “Pusher” feat. Gesaffelstein (song-48). Cross-checked with Rolling Stone, Variety, Video Games Chronicle, and Inven Global's coverage of the “Original Score” reveal.

Rob Nelson: the Jason-Lucia Bond has four levels of closeness — it rises through shared activities, but “it's up to you to keep it or lose it”.

Edge #430 clarifies that the Bond between the two protagonists (already known from c-150/c-151) has a specific scale: four distinct levels of closeness, which rise as the player invests time in shared activities like beach walks, cycling, the gym and car rides. Rob Nelson (VP of creative, Rockstar) states explicitly: “We start them wanting to be together and give the relationship another chance... but as the game progresses, it's up to you to keep it or lose it” — closeness isn't guaranteed, it depends on the player's choices, and is affected by the Criminal Profile (how you behave in the world carries over into the relationship). Nelson explicitly refused to confirm whether the two can get married, keeping a potential ending hidden from leaks/marketing.

South Park aired real GTA 6 gameplay (a beach dog scene) — Rockstar itself supplied it and was credited in the end credits.

In the episode “Guinea Pig on a Stick” (season 29, 28/10/2026) South Park aired a short, genuine gameplay clip of GTA 6: Jason on a Vice City beach, in a scene where a dog leaves a mess and the player throws it at an NPC — the show's characters comment, impressed by the graphics. The clip isn't a recreation or parody: the episode itself explicitly credits Rockstar Games in the end credits for the footage, ending any doubt about its authenticity (gtaboom, 29/10; cross-checked with insider-gaming/thegamer/deadline). Rockstar usually guards its gameplay very strictly — handing it to a comedy show is simultaneously a marketing strategy and a show of confidence, three weeks before release (19/11). New (30/10, via GTA BOOM): Aaron Garbut confirmed the joke comes from a real “Disgust System” — characters react to filth/stench throughout Leonida; the team first built a reaction to one unpleasant smell for specific footage, then turned it into a broad system so other locations could trigger varying degrees of revulsion. Ceiling Confirmed: this is an official, indisputable piece of gameplay footage with explicit credit from Rockstar itself, plus a named executive statement about the mechanic.

Aaron Garbut: “you can have your life inside the game” — shopping, catching the train, going to a club. Rob Nelson: they let the player play however they want, within limits.

Aaron Garbut (co-studio head, Rockstar North) tells Edge #430: “you can have your life inside the game” — he describes “a role-play experience where you buy cigarettes and beer at the shop and catch the train for the day, or go to a club”. Rob Nelson adds: “it's more about letting people play the way they want to”. Edge writer Simon Parkin explicitly notes the limits: the role-play elements “operate within a relatively narrow band of possibility” — you choose WHAT KIND of criminal you are (Professional/Irredeemable, c-055), not WHETHER you are one; you can't drop everything to become a yoga teacher. Cross-checked with TweakTown and Insider Gaming — same quotes.

The map is officially double the size of GTA 5 — the biggest map Rockstar has ever built, “by far”.

Game Informer published the full digital issue 382 on 29/9 with the first direct statements from Rockstar executives. Aaron Garbut, head of development, stated that the map of Leonida is officially double that of GTA V — the largest map Rockstar has ever built, “by far”. In a separate excerpt about the buildings, Garbut said: “This new world is different. We stuck to every detail — the rooftops, the alleyways, the interiors and everything in between — until we reached critical mass in the number of our interiors, and you start to feel that the buildings are more real, inside and out” (via Insider Gaming). CORRECTION 29/9: the old fan estimate “1.5–2 times” (GTA6 Mapping Project, via NME, Oct 2025) is replaced by the official confirmation — the range settled at 2×, with an explicit statement from an executive. Cross-check: Video Games Chronicle, Insider Gaming. CORRECTION 29/10 (Edge issue #430, 16 pages, visit to Edinburgh): the same Garbut, now described as co-studio head, gives a new point of comparison — the map of Leonida is “almost as big as the combined playable landmasses of GTA 4, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2” — and adds that it contains “an order of magnitude more interiors” than Rockstar's previous games: “Every back alley is just as dense in detail and interest as the others. You can go anywhere, to any random location, and so much thought has gone into that location” (via PC Gamer, 29/10). On the overall pressure to meet the franchise's expectations after 13 years, Garbut: “We can't just put out something people would expect, or that was the easy way out. We made no compromises on scale, detail, interactivity, story, the open world... I feel like we built a pyramid on Everest” (via PC Gamer, 29/10). Official_statement, same person/same ceiling Confirmed — a new, more specific point of comparison on top of the already-known 2×.

The Criminal Profile measures your style — professional or chaotic — with no good/evil scale; it affects how the world treats you.

The successor to RDR2's Honor system, as presented by Rockstar itself in the preview: not a moral binary, but a professionalism-vs-chaos meter that touches NPC reactions and scene progression. CORRECTION 29/10 (Edge #430, via VICE): the scale gets an explicit name at both ends — “Professional” ↔ “Irredeemable” — and visual representation on both sides: angel icon (already known, c-056) but also a devil icon for the chaotic end, documented for the first time. The same report confirms that the Criminal Profile “can affect how Jason and Lucia's story unfolds” — STATED answer to u-profile-2 (touches beyond NPC reactions/scenes). Ceiling remains Confirmed: the core function comes from an official preview, the naming of the ends is a descriptive detail from journalistic access (Solid-tier detail on top of an already Confirmed mechanism). Further enrichment 29/10 (Edge #430, via Insider Gaming): the same report describes three distinct approaches that feed the scale — non-lethal neutralization of opponents, intimidation before violence, or the traditional violent route; “the way you behave in your day-to-day affects this scale, and while every crime is bad, there's still room for a more diplomatic path”. Explicit clarification: whether you're a criminal is non-negotiable — only HOW.

The weather system has been redesigned: more localized and persistent, dynamic cloudscapes, tropical storms and hurricanes like real Florida.

Owen Shepherd, vice president of art for lighting and rendering at Rockstar, in the full digital issue of Game Informer (29/9): “We redesigned the weather system so it would be much more local and persistent, and we really wanted the world to feel dynamically dense, achieving a sense of scale we haven't felt before”. He added that the system has “fully dynamic cloudscapes that roll across the map”, reflecting Florida's weather patterns — from clear winter skies to summer cumulonimbus with scattered lightning. Leonida's tropical climate will have seasonal hurricanes and tropical storms; the exact frequency and the effects on gameplay/story haven't been clarified yet. Tied to c-022 (living world) — fully answers the cover-reveal promise (c-197) of an “advanced weather system” with name and executive title. CORRECTION 29/10 (Edge #430, via GamesRadar): Aaron Garbut describes the system as “much more granular” (“much more granular”) — storms visible on the horizon gradually affect your location as you approach, wind moves trees/clouds/waves, islands and buildings cast shadows on the water (boats pass calmly or “rock” depending on position), and flying inside a severe storm for a long time causes “light damage” to the aircraft; passersby scatter and seek shelter when the weather changes. New layer of mechanics on top of the already-known redesign — same label.

Phil Hooker: buses/trains genuinely functional, tested route-by-route. Rob Nelson: GTA 5's day-night cycle “felt too fast” in GTA 6's analysis.

Edge issue #430 (16 pages, a visit to Rockstar's Edinburgh offices, published 29/10) fully describes functional bus and train networks used by both protagonists, a much longer day-night cycle than GTA 5, and streets/avenues deliberately narrower for a more realistic sense of movement. New (30/10, via GTA BOOM): Phil Hooker (Rockstar) explicitly states that the team “checks that the buses actually show up, by learning the routes and driving them across the whole map” — confirmation that the system was tested in practice, not just a design description. In parallel (via GamingBolt/Yahoo Tech), Rob Nelson explains WHY the day-night cycle is slower: the team first tested GTA 5's pace in GTA 6 and “everything felt too fast” for the level of detail of the new world — “as world resolution goes up, there are things you can't ignore the same way” (example: NPC reaction to weapons in GTA 5 already shows its age). Two on-the-record quotes from Rockstar executives raise the ceiling to Confirmed.

The map opens relatively early for free exploration; Aaron Garbut says even the developers themselves are still discovering new areas, and every interior tells a story through objects.

Aaron Garbut in Edge #430: “every back alley is as densely detailed and interesting as the rest” — the density of the handcrafted world is such that even the developers themselves discover new corners while playing, before the 19/11 release. Instead of empty rooms, interiors narrate NPC lives through objects — photos on the walls, personal items scattered about. An example he described himself: he walked into an unfamiliar house with a photo of a dog in one room; in the next, the results of a dog left alone — Jason reacts authentically, grimacing in disgust.

Rob Nelson says Jason and Lucia's core goal is to leave the life of crime behind — bigger ambitions for their life and relationship, beyond the money.

Rob Nelson in Edge #430: acknowledges that many see GTA as a power fantasy, but Jason and Lucia want “something beyond that” — “bigger ambitions for their life and relationship” beyond money and power (a difference from GTA 5). The story explores what's “beyond their criminal exploits”, including the future they hope to build together — starting with their decision to give their relationship “one more chance”. The theme builds on what Rockstar had already explored in Red Dead Redemption 2, giving the protagonists more complex motivations than simple wealth accumulation.

Phil Hooker describes a “dark period” in GTA 6's development, around 2022, when the team's vision for the game was not yet clear.

In the Bloomberg Businessweek feature (Jason Schreier, 14/10 — already n-075, batch c-243 to c-252), Phil Hooker, co-head of development, describes a difficult phase: “The pattern is very familiar. You go through a period where things aren't working, but you see glimpses” (translation). Uncertainty about the vision combined with the staff shift to Red Dead Redemption 2, the pandemic, and departures of veteran designers; the picture started to “click” around late 2022/early 2023. The detail surfaced today (24/10) via secondary coverage (GameRant) of the same 14/10 feature — not a new statement, but a quote that hadn't been logged at the time. Part of the same batch as c-243 to c-252.

Rob Nelson says Rockstar tested alternatives to GTA 6's weapon system for months, if not years, before settling once again on the classic weapon wheel.

In the same Bloomberg Businessweek feature (14/10 — already n-075, batch c-243 to c-252), Rob Nelson describes how Rockstar initially wanted a weapon system more realistic than the established “weapon wheel” (on the model of Red Dead Redemption, where the number of weapons the player carries is limited) — they tried “a million different things” for months, if not years, before concluding that the classic weapon wheel remains the most functional system for GTA 6. The detail surfaced today (24/10) via secondary coverage (TechRadar) of the same feature — it enriches, not replaces, the already-logged coverage from 14/10.

A poster outside the strip club Jack of Hearts in “An Extended Look” advertises the app “Peekhole” — a parody of the subscription platform OnlyFans.

In “An Extended Look” (27/8, c-013) a “Make It Rain Mondays” poster outside the strip club Jack of Hearts (pin-20, Boobie Ike's club) advertises a QR code for a fictional app “Peekhole” — the logo explicitly echoes OnlyFans' old (2016-2021) logo. PlayStationLifestyle and ComicBook.com independently spotted it (23/10), noting that it's the first GTA to release after OnlyFans became a mainstream platform — no official explanation from Rockstar for the app's function within the game, it remains a decorative world detail (in the spirit of fictional companies/apps like the memecoin $CYBERLEEK, c-095, there as an in-world satire element).

Rockstar's team has more than doubled since Red Dead Redemption 2 — that's the scale VI's world demanded.

“To pull off the technical and cultural feats required to build a world of the scale, depth and interactivity of GTAVI, the Rockstar team has more than doubled in size since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.” No absolute employee number was given — only the multiplier. Addition 20/10 (journalistic research, not an official statement — Solid ceiling for the number ITSELF): Jason Schreier (Bloomberg Businessweek, Edinburgh feature) gave, for the first time, concrete numbers behind Rockstar's multiplier — from ~2,400 employees in 2018 (RDR2 release) to ~4,700 in 2026, with GTA 6's art team growing tenfold, from 5-6 people (GTA V) to 65. Part of the expansion: a new studio in Los Angeles dedicated solely to NPCs, and more producers for coordination. Cross-checked with TweakTown/Dexerto/GameDaily/HappyGamer. The specific numbers remain journalistic reporting (Solid) — Rockstar itself has only confirmed the multiplier “more than doubled” (Confirmed, above).

The streets narrowed toward their real width and the traffic increased — driving demands more skill, with traffic jams the series never had.

“The roads in this game are narrower, closer to real-world widths, and traffic has increased — there will be more moments that test your driving skill” (Nelson, Famitsu). The question arose from the journalist's observation that he saw a traffic jam, something that didn't exist in previous GTAs. Nelson added the counterbalance in economic terms: you can of course drive wildly and ignore traffic, but “if you scratch the car, its value drops” — so if you want to sell for a high price, you drive carefully. Traffic, in other words, isn't just atmosphere; it's a tax on profit. Addition 20/10 (same event, new numerical detail): art director Aaron Garbut told Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) that Vice City's roads are about 15% narrower than GTA V's — the first time a specific percentage has been given in the comparison (MP1st/TwistedVoxel, via the same Edinburgh report as c-243).

Sony announced two limited-edition DualSense for GTA VI (Black and White) at €84.99: pre-orders 10 September 10:00, release 19 November, in limited quantities.

Revealed at the State of Play on 3 September 2026 and announced the same day on PlayStation.Blog, with the post co-signed by Sony Interactive Entertainment (Isabelle Tomatis, VP Global Marketing) and Rockstar Games (R*Q). Official names: “DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition” and “White Limited Edition”. Design, per the announcement: an iridescent, color-shifting finish that “blends the hues of a Vice City sunset with the glow of neon”, palm trees cast directly into the shell, the “VI” on the touchpad; the white “embodies Vice City at dawn”, the black “the energy of its nightlife”. Price: $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99 / ¥12,480. Pre-orders from 10 September at 10:00 local time; release on 19 November, the game's release day. Availability: the white in limited quantities worldwide on direct.playstation.com and at participating retailers; the black exclusively via PlayStation Direct “where available” and, in other regions, at select retailers. Functionally it's a standard DualSense (haptics and adaptive triggers as in c-140) — the difference is appearance only. For Greece: the PlayStation Direct country selector (checked 6/9) lists twelve European markets and not Greece, so availability here goes through retailers only. Recheck 10/9 (pre-order opening day): no Greek listing yet across eleven stores/price-comparison engines (Public, Plaisio, Kotsovolos, Game Explorers, Electrocrete, Efantasy.gr, You.gr, Astrongameclub, BUYBEST.GR, Skroutz, BestPrice) — only announcement articles in the Greek press (e.g. techblog.gr, psaddict.gr, unboxholics.com) reposting the PlayStation.Blog, no actual product page. Recheck 14/9: the first actual Greek listing appeared — Kotsovolos, black version only, pre-order at €84.99 (see claim retailer_listing c-189). Recheck 19/10: the open gap on the white version closed — Public (€84.90) and Kotsovolos (€84.99), see c-271. No PS5 bundle is mentioned. Why Confirmed: the fact belongs to Sony (its own product, its own channel), and Rockstar co-signs — partner_official, SCHEMA §2. Transparency: announced 3/9, entered the Archive 6/9 — three days late. The reason and the change in method are explained publicly on the “How We Work” page (section “When We Miss Something”).

Every shared activity feeds the Jason-Lucia bond: robberies, billiards, mini golf, kayaking, diving, parachuting, walking on the beach.

In the full transcript of the July demo at Rockstar North (published today by IGN as “GTA 6: The Big Interview” — the same demo that produced the first impressions in August, now in full Q&A form), Rob Nelson, co-studio head and head of development at Rockstar North, explicitly listed which activities count as “quality time” for the bond: “You manage the relationship the way you'd take care of any relationship — by spending time together. Being out in the open world and exploring together, or doing activities together — billiards, mini golf, kayaking, just everyday things. Or robbing stores together, robbing banks together. Whatever way players choose to spend that time together, it'll have a positive effect on the relationship.” A little later in the same demo, he gave a more detailed list: “All of that counts as quality time for Jason and Lucia: robbing together, walking hand in hand, going to the zoo, studying wildlife, scuba diving, skydiving, a walk on the beach, kayaking…” What this adds to the Archive: until now the only confirmed example of a shared activity that “counts” was fishing with Cal (c-086, An Extended Look) — this is the first time Rockstar has explicitly given a full, named list. Answers u-activities-3. Update 16/10 (Bloomberg, see #c-267): in the same demo, Jason asks Lucia out, they walk hand in hand, exchange a kiss, and go to the gym together (Jason does squats, Lucia runs on a treadmill) — new specific bonding activities beyond the already known list.

GTA V is leaving the PS Plus Extra/Premium catalog on 17 November — two days before GTA 6 — with a Sony notice pointing to the pre-order of the new game.

A notification on PS5 consoles informed subscribers that GTA V will be available to PS Plus Extra/Premium members only until 17/11 — Sony's message (translated): “If you're counting down the days until Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PS5 on 19 November, why not take a trip to Los Santos in the meantime?”. GTA V remains normally purchasable on the PS Store after that date — it's only removed from the Extra/Premium subscription library. The notice explicitly links the departure to the GTA VI pre-order. Cross-checked with GameSpot, Push Square, PlayStation LifeStyle, AOL.

In a Bloomberg hands-on demo, Rob Nelson shows “hundreds” of small interior spaces that open up freely in free roam — he entered a gas station, disabled the alarm and stole cash without a mission.

Bloomberg published a separate newsletter, “Behind the Scenes of Grand Theft Auto VI” (16/10 — a different piece from the big Businessweek feature of 14/10, #c-243-252), with a recorded hands-on demo. Rob Nelson played as Jason: he called Lucia to hang out, they walked in the park, drove to the gym, stopped to scan a bank but decided not to rob it because of too many guards, and eventually went into the back office of a gas station, disabled the alarm and stole cash without being noticed — no mission, pure free-roam. Nelson commented (translated): “There are so many small interior spaces — hundreds — that you can explore”. Cross-checked with Khel Now, tbreak, tech4gamers.

Rockstar deliberately avoids satirizing specific real-world political figures/events in GTA 6 — because of the long development cycle.

In the same LOVE #27 issue, Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's VP of Narrative (already a source for c-213), explained why GTA 6 doesn't target specific politicians or current events: “If you look at the previous GTAs, there was never a big focus on national politics” — “We don't want to be too specific about a particular person, event, movement or anything like that”. Two reasons: (1) 13 years pass between two GTA releases — content built on short-lived trends risks looking dated by the time it ships; (2) instead of straight representation, Rockstar builds “skewed, exaggerated versions” of contemporary phenomena to highlight their absurdity through exaggeration and humor. The game will have campaign billboards, robotic political calls and radio commentary — but as distorted, caricature versions, not documentary-style representation. The same logic had already been expressed in general terms by Rob Nelson in TroisCouleurs (c-174: “an idea may have been lost, changed or made outdated by the end of development”) — Humphries makes it explicit and specific here, with the example of national politics. Addition 17/10: the same layer of statements (around 27/8, the Extended Look preview round) also included Rob Nelson speaking to the New York Times — he was explicitly asked whether GTA 6 would comment on Donald Trump or the COVID-19 pandemic, and answered: “We run the risk of dating ourselves in an awkward way” — “we have to look for what will have a timeless quality that will speak easily to relatable human missteps and that people will remember as part of this era”. Same event as above (the general policy of avoiding satire on specific people/events) — the NYT just offered the two most commonly asked-about examples, not a new policy.

Rockstar released the GTA 6 Launch Trailer (90 sec., 15/10, filmed on a standard PS5) — Jason and Lucia get tangled in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida when an “easy job” goes wrong.

On 15/10, without warning, Rockstar uploaded the Launch Trailer to its own YouTube channel (rz1B4B2yBZY) and to rockstargames.com/VI/launch-trailer — the last official trailer before the 19/11 release. The page itself describes it (translated): “Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia always knew the game is rigged against them” — Jason, with a military past he didn't leave on the best terms, struggles to find work; Lucia calls him from Leonida Penitentiary and the two reconnect shortly before “an easy job goes wrong” and drops them into a state-wide criminal conspiracy. The 90-minute video shows: a bank robbery, a police chase, heist scenes with an aircraft, a fight on an airboat in the swamps, a concert, a shower scene with the two leads, and a flashback to Jason's military service. The gameplay was captured entirely on a standard PlayStation 5 (not Pro) — Rockstar's first major single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018). Cross-checked with Video Games Chronicle, TwistedVoxel, Vice, Eurogamer (headline, translated: “a bold shower scene, a tense police chase, and impressive heists”). No new date — it reconfirms 19/11 (already #c-019/launch.json). Official_statement/footage straight from Rockstar — ceiling Confirmed. 16/10 detail (community spotting, confirmed SEEN in the trailer itself): in one scene Jason's T-shirt reads (free rendering) “US Army Combat Training School, North Fort Law” — North Fort Law is based on the original Grand Theft Auto (1997, the Fort Law area of New Guernsey) — a 29-year callback for the franchise, the first time it's been referenced again in the series. 16/10 afternoon details (second pass over the trailer, SEEN-explicit where noted): Lucia is seen with an electronic ankle monitor in the shower scene — an indication she's out on probation/parole, not fully free (gfinityesports, 16/10, cross-checked with an IGN thread of 33 details). Jason's tattoo reads the word Marauder next to a skull with a parachute — a possible reference to the real-world unit Merrill's Marauders (INTERPRETATION, not confirmed by Rockstar). The trailer's narrator/title voice is Jeff Berlin — a professional voice-over artist who has voiced Rockstar trailers/radio imaging from GTA III (2001) through GTA V (2013, Radio Mirror Park, trailer announcer) and GTA IV (2008, trailer announcer) — confirmed publicly by Geoff Keighley on social media, reposted by GTA BOOM. 16/10 detail (SEEN-explicit, technical analysis): in the scene where a helicopter drags cargo through a skyscraper's glass façade, the glass shatters into hundreds of pieces with realistic damage spreading across the panels, not a simple pre-set crack — Digital Foundry/GamingBolt analysis. The detail is SEEN directly in the trailer itself; Rockstar has NOT explicitly stated permanently destructible buildings or city-wide damage as a gameplay system — the scene could be a staged cinematic, not a confirmed mechanic (INTERPRETATION beyond the SEEN-explicit fact of the footage itself). 17/10 addition (Digital Foundry analysis): a long-running technical flaw in the RAGE engine that has plagued Rockstar's games since GTA IV (2008) — uneven pacing in character animations and camera movement, producing a “choppy” stop-motion-like effect — was visible in ALL previous GTA 6 trailers, but is completely absent from the Launch Trailer, even though the video has extensive panning camera shots where the flaw usually appeared more pronounced. INTERPRETATION on top of official material (official_footage_inferred, ceiling Solid) — Rockstar has not explicitly stated a fix; it remains possible the trailer simply chose scenes without the issue. 17/10 detail (SEEN-explicit, at 0:55 of the trailer): a small aircraft appears with the logo “DacityCoin AudaCity” on its side, dropping a pink neon flare from its wing — per the GTA Wiki, it's a fictional cryptocurrency from the (also fictional) AudaCity brand, part of a mission where Lucia promotes the coin via a parachuting stunt over Vice City (the detail is also visible in leaked gameplay clips — outside the Archive as a source, only the trailer itself counts as SEEN). The detail triggered a real memecoin on Solana with the same name (created on Pump.fun five days before the trailer): it spiked ~2,900% (from a ~$104,000 to a ~$3.18 million valuation) in the hours after release, before pulling back ~53% to ~$1.5 million — no official relationship, endorsement, or statement from Rockstar/Take-Two regarding the real coin (Decrypt, 16/10). INTERPRETATION on top of official material for the in-game detail (ceiling Solid) — the real memecoin is a purely external phenomenon, no value as a game fact, just a scam-watch warning: no coin “belongs” to GTA 6. 19/10 detail (SEEN-explicit, secondary analysis by ComicBook.com on the same trailer): in the chase scene you can see NOOSE's Tactical Response Unit (National Office of Security Enforcement) — the federal/militarized police agency that first appeared in GTA IV (2008) and returned in GTA V — confirming the institution exists again in GTA 6. It doesn't clarify at which wanted level it intervenes (u-wanted-2 remains open) — only SEEN that it appears in a chase scene in the trailer.

Jennifer Kolbe says Rockstar swore not to finish GTA 6 “with crunch” after RDR2's difficult development: “we did things differently, and I'm proud of that”.

In the same Bloomberg Businessweek feature, Rockstar's head of publishing (Jennifer Kolbe) says that after the grueling development of Red Dead Redemption 2 (known for crunch reports), the company vowed not to finish GTA 6 the same way: “I think we did things differently, and I'm proud of that”. First time Rockstar explicitly links its anti-crunch policy on GTA 6 to the difficult RDR2 experience. She describes the measure: new policies offering time off for extra hours worked, and sometimes extra pay. She does, however, explicitly admit its limits: “it wasn't perfect, but it was definitely better than Red Dead 2” — she avoids saying there was no overtime at all, because some employee would disagree, so she'd rather not get into that discussion, while still remaining proud of the different approach.

Rockstar confirmed that Justice composed the entire GTA 6 score — the trailer song, “Flower in a Hurricane” (featuring Tame Impala, SZA, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), belongs to “The Album”.

Alongside the Launch Trailer (#c-256), Rockstar announced that the music act Justice (the French electronic duo Xavier de Rosnay/Gaspard Augé) handled the ENTIRE original score of the game — not just one song. The track heard in the trailer, “Flower in a Hurricane”, is a collaboration between Justice and Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and is part of the already-announced “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (34 songs, releasing 19/11 alongside the game — #c-192). Cross-checked with GamingBolt, NME, Shacknews, Video Games Chronicle, TwistedVoxel — all describe the same song/artists. It doesn't change the list of nine artists from #c-190 nor the two second-wave singles (#c-235) — it's added as a new, third wave of publicity for the album, explicitly tied to the Launch Trailer. Official statement straight from Rockstar (same page as #c-256) — ceiling Confirmed.

Phil Hooker (head of development) says Rockstar's next game won't take another 8 years — GTA 6's tools, engine and team carry over to the next project.

In the same Bloomberg Businessweek feature, Phil Hooker says: “The engine, the tools and the team we built on this project will let us do things faster; I feel confident we can build on this and move sideways rather than vertically, for more exciting content”. Aaron Garbut backs the same point in the same article — the technology and the team built for GTA 6 will cut down the development time of the next title.

Rob Nelson says the NPC number projections were “terrifying” — the main reason for GTA 6's first delay, which led to the dedicated NPC office in Los Angeles.

Rob Nelson describes to Bloomberg Businessweek: “The projections they were giving us were terrifying” — the team couldn't meet the writing/motion target for NPCs with existing resources, and this was a key reason for the game's first delay. The solution was the dedicated office in Los Angeles solely for pedestrians (already documented in #c-125 from the Dazed feature, 26/8) — the new document explains WHY it was built, with an explicit link to the delay.

Rockstar cut a plan for the player to manually buy beer/sandwich ingredients at a store checkout — Rob Nelson explains they were balancing realism with gameplay ease.

Rob Nelson describes an internal discussion in Bloomberg Businessweek: should the player go to a store's fridge, grab a case of beer, carry it to the register and pay manually — or buy sandwich ingredients that give stat bonuses? The team concluded that such detailed realism (along with a full system for restocking the fridge at home) tires more than it helps — they cut it to strike a balance between realism and ease.

Phil Hooker says GTA 6 is “never fully locked” — the team kept changing elements even in the final months; the delays came from many small details, not one big problem.

Phil Hooker tells Bloomberg Businessweek that GTA 6 doesn't follow a strict, locked plan — the team changed elements “even in the final months” before release. The two delays didn't come from one big, dramatic problem, but from the accumulation of many small pieces that didn't line up with the original timeline.

Strauss Zelnick (Take-Two CEO) describes his reaction to GTA 6's two delays: “Tell me you're kidding” — but calls Rockstar's reasoning “reasonable”.

Strauss Zelnick says to Bloomberg Businessweek that his first reaction to every delay was “tell me you're joking” — but after hearing Rockstar's reasoning, he called it “logical” and backed the decision both times.

Aaron Garbut describes the 2022 leak as emotionally exhausting: “It feels like somebody's wading through your dirty washing” — “very strangely invasive”.

Aaron Garbut describes to Bloomberg Businessweek the emotional weight of the September 2022 leak (90 videos of early development): “It's like someone going through your dirty laundry” — “it's really weirdly invasive, and it's hard to handle it emotionally”. The material came out before the team considered the game ready to be shown publicly — years of work were judged prematurely. The release date (19/11, #c-001) remains unchanged.

Jennifer Kolbe (head of publishing) denied that GTA 6's development cost exceeded $1.5 billion — without revealing the actual amount, in Rockstar's first on-record interview about development struggles.

In the feature “The Making of Grand Theft Auto VI” (Bloomberg Businessweek, 14/10) — the first time Rockstar has spoken openly, in a day-long interview at the Edinburgh offices — Jennifer Kolbe, Rockstar's head of publishing, denied the widespread rumor that development cost exceeded $1.5 billion (what Dubai's Burj Khalifa cost). Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two reveal the actual amount — likely the most expensive video game ever made, based on the time and personnel required (13+ years, multiple studios).

Jennifer Kolbe (Rockstar's head of publishing) says staff will get a union if they want one: “We go where the team goes” — the unionization group has met with management every week since summer.

In the same Bloomberg Businessweek feature (14/10), Jennifer Kolbe commented openly on the union recognition request: the team asked Rockstar for voluntary recognition in the summer of 2026 and has been meeting with management every week since — a process Kolbe described as positive: “We go where the team goes. If they want a union, they'll have a union” (loose rendering of her English statement to Schreier). The statement comes less than a year after the layoffs of 31-34 employees (see #171) which the IWGB calls union-busting — the same case is still ongoing in Glasgow. Name+role+direct quote in interview = official_statement per SCHEMA §2, ceiling Confirmed.

Rupert Humphries (SVP of narrative) says the “American Dream” in GTA 6 is now more modest — a house and paid-off loans — but still out of reach for the average person.

In the same interview with LOVE magazine (issue 27, already the source for c-213/c-218/c-220), Humphries expands on the theme of the American Dream that previous GTAs satirized: “Some will say the American Dream collapsed a long time ago”, he says, but GTA 5 in 2013 already treated it with cynicism. Arriving at 2026, according to him, the dream has “tempered into something less grandiose”: “Maybe the American Dream is more modest today — a house for your family and paid-off loans instead of crazy success — but maybe today that is just as unattainable for the average person”. He adds that “Miami and South Florida are a particular front line in this battle between astronomical wealth and unlimited ambition, creating a pressure cooker for every kind of paranoia”. GamesRadar+ explicitly links the quote to the original LOVE Magazine article (lovemagazine.net/articles/gta-vi-the-american-dream). It ties thematically to the already known rich-poor side-by-side pattern of Leonida (c-204).

Take-Two will announce its fiscal year 2027 second-quarter financial results on Monday, 9 November 2026 — the last earnings call before launch.

Take-Two itself announced (press release on its IR site, 13/10) that it will publish its fiscal year 2027 second-quarter results (period ended 30/9/2026) after market close on Monday, 9 November 2026, with a conference call at 16:30 Eastern US time (23:30 Greece time) — webcast at take2games.com/ir. This is the parent company's last scheduled public update before GTA 6's release on 19/11. Replaces the earlier third-party estimate (TipRanks/Investing.com, “~5-11 November”) with an official, specific date — watch-calendar updated. No mention of new GTA 6 material (trailer, dates) in the release itself — any expectation of a new trailer on the call (e.g. Beebom, 13/10) is press speculation, not an official indication.

It's coming out on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nowhere else — yet.

Source: official Rockstar pages. No other platform has been announced. Update 9/10: Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard was explicitly asked whether GTA 6 is coming to Switch 2 — she answered “that's a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, I don't have anything to announce from my side at this time”. Neither confirmation nor denial — Nintendo defers to the owner of the fact. No change to the announced platforms.

Three new official GTA 6 screenshots (8/10): a rainy night at the Ocean View Hotel, a highway with a view of the Vice City Oceanarium, a nighttime car meet at Conch King.

The press (IGN “Rockstar Releases Brand New Official Screenshots Showing Off Stunning Reflections”, GameRant, Kotaku, Insider Gaming, RockstarINTEL) reported three new official screenshots on 8/10, but the public media hub (rockstargames.com/VI/media/screenshots) didn't show them — the scanner engine (pulse-media.mjs) didn't find them, because they live elsewhere: inside the same static asset bundle (/VI/_next/static/media/) of the new music page (rockstargames.com/VI/music, see c-232), not on the artwork-wallpapers/screenshots pages. Three files were located and verified directly (HTTP 200, Last-Modified 8/10/2026, same domain rockstargames.com): album-background-desktop (3840×2160, the rain scene at the Ocean View Hotel/Hotel Dixon with the orange sports car, patrol car, pedestrians, skateboards — the one Kotaku described), hero-background-desktop (3840×2160, midday traffic on an elevated highway with a view of the Vice City Oceanarium's golden dome and the Downtown silhouette, a variety of vehicles/boats/helicopter/aircraft — the one Insider Gaming described as “Vice City Oceanarium ENTRANCE”), radio-background-desktop (3840×2160, a nighttime informal car gathering outside the “CONCH KING” restaurant/stand, with tuned cars, open trunks, people sitting/standing — the one Insider Gaming described as “car meet outside the Conch King restaurant”). Downloaded to public/img/official/ (ocean-view-hotel-rain-landscape, vice-city-oceanarium-highway-landscape, conch-king-car-meet-landscape) — ceiling Confirmed, rockstargames.com itself is the source, primary URL live.

The Jason-Lucia relationship is fully optional — simply progressing through the story/missions together does NOT suffice for it to “work”; it requires a separate investment of time in the open world.

In the same full interview (see c-226 to c-229), he was asked what happens if the player doesn't keep Jason and Lucia together. Nelson answered (translated): “If you don't — we've thought about this a lot. The narrative is structured so that the circumstances they find themselves in force them to stay together and cooperate at most points in the story. At the very least, they'll get by as partners in crime”. At the same point he clarified that the romantic side is not at all mandatory for the player: “I feel great about it, if you're interested in it as an idea. Again, don't engage with it if you're not interested. Your choice” — and elsewhere: “Could we also offer ways to stay out of it, if you don't want a relationship? That's something we'll figure out. It's not something we want to impose on players”. He added that simply progressing through the story/missions together alone does NOT suffice for the relationship to “work”: “Just progressing through the story and playing missions together might not be enough to keep them together. You'll need to keep them together by spending some time together in the open world” — meaning through the relationship activities from c-226. What this adds: it clarifies the mechanism behind the already-known “the relationship decays/strengthens” (Bond dossier) — the investment is not an automatic byproduct of the campaign, it's a separate, fully optional choice made by the player.

Mission design was deliberately opened up — multiple routes/ways to complete missions where possible, without losing narrative quality.

In the same interview, Nelson explained the general mission design philosophy (translated): “The narrative has to take precedence sometimes — at least for us. For the story to progress in a believable way, you have to hit certain beats, so in those cases we somehow have to guide the experience. But with this game we made a very conscious effort to open things up wherever possible, without degrading the quality of the experience”. He gave two specific examples: the first mission seen in Netflix's preview video, where the duo tries to get out of a tower block, has multiple exit routes; and the mission where they meet Raul — a police chase where one drives and the other shoots (see c-153/c-173): “There's an optimal route you're told to follow to get out, but if you don't follow it, you can still get out — the mission is essentially a police chase”. What this adds: it clarifies that the escape/approach flexibility we already knew about in specific systems (second exits in heists, c-064; switching between driving and shooting, c-153) is an expression of a deliberate, general mission design principle — not an isolated exception.

Rockstar revealed the first 6 radio stations of GTA 6 — Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics — with real artists as hosts.

The official page rockstargames.com/VI/music opens with previews of six radio stations — “Broadcasting Live Across Leonida” — with the ability to listen to samples. The six stations, with the real artists behind the on-air characters (per IGN, “GTA 6 Reveals a Handful of Radio Stations, DJs, and Songs Ahead of Release”, 8/10): **Cocoteo FM** — contemporary Latin music (bachata through reggaeton), hosts El Martillo (voice: Bad Bunny) and La Gata (voice: RaiNao). **Back Country Radio** — country for the Grassrivers/Port Gellhorn, hosts MW (voice: Morgan Wallen) and Delta Dawne (voice: Lana Del Rey), with “reporter” Mud Dog Mike (voice: Jeremy Dufrene) from his airboat. **AfroBank FM** — African music/amapiano, hosts Burna (voice: Burna Boy) and Palmsy (voice: Palms Trax). **The Chamber 106.6** — heavy metal, hosts DJ Kerry (voice: Kerry King of Slayer) and DJ Tom (voice: Tom Araya of Slayer). **Flash FM** — pop, the Vice City institution returns, hosts Robyn (herself) and Alex (voice: Alex Consani). **Dirty South Classics** — southern rap/hip-hop, hosts Trick (voice: Trick Daddy) and Trina (herself). Representative songs per station were verified directly in the embedded playlist JSON of the official page (18 tracks total — see songs.json song-27 through song-44). Separate from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (34 original songs, 19/11, already c-199/song-21 through song-26) — the radio stations play existing/licensed music, the Album is original material written for the game.

Rockstar's research team traveled across Florida —with police officers and gang members— to build the world of GTA 6.

In the same LOVE #27 issue that was released digitally today (already a source for c-213), Aaron Garbut, co-studio head of Rockstar North, described the team's research trips to Florida: “Every game we make starts with research trips. That's where we explore the place and our ideas as a team”. The trip started in Miami, went through surrounding cities and the Florida Keys down to Key West, combining sightseeing with deep engagement with the community — “We travel with police officers and with gang members. Everyone is great”. Garbut explained the goal: “We're trying to build a world that is believable and diverse, with depth — that's the research we need”. The team experienced Miami's contrasts — wealth and poverty, excess and the struggle to survive — so that the city's extremes could be rendered authentically in the game, something that even influenced how NPCs dress by area. A new layer on top of the series' already known research background (Rockstar statements about on-the-ground research in Florida already existed in general terms) — the first time the accompaniment of police officers AND gang members on the same trip is explicitly described. CORRECTION/enrichment (7/10, same LOVE #27 interview): Garbut also described a low flight over the mangrove channels of the Everglades, which ended up over a stadium while a Beyoncé concert was taking place — “I think we made the local news the next day” (translated). Shows the scope of the on-the-ground research beyond the already known Miami/Keys.

Rockstar writer Alexa D'Agostino revealed that she drew inspiration for Lucia from women she knows personally — her mother was an immigrant who grew up in Newark, New Jersey.

Another excerpt from LOVE #27: Alexa D'Agostino, a Rockstar writer for six years (GTA V, Red Dead Online) — a new name for the Archive — described how she wrote Lucia: “When I was writing Lucia, I thought of the women I know — my mother was an immigrant who grew up in Newark, New Jersey, close to Lucia's birthplace, Liberty City. I thought of the way she raised me: feisty, good, but don't step on her. I identified a lot with Lucia and writing her came very naturally to me”. She explained her philosophy for the character: “When you focus on writing a fully realized person with wants of their own, you end up with something imperfectly perfect — clichéd, but also undeniably true”. CORRECTION 7/10: the previous wording here (“compared Lucia to Niko, Franklin”) was inaccurate — it is not supported by the Gameranx source. The actual comparison with Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic is a separate statement from the same interview, now logged under c-224. This supplements Lucia's already known thematic profile (c-009, c-213) with the personal creative background behind the character — the first time her writer is named.

Xbox denied media reports that it would have exclusive cloud streaming rights for GTA 6 — Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball stated that the game will NOT be streaming exclusively, not even on PC.

The British outlet The Verge (Tom Warren, 7/10) published a report, based on sources close to Microsoft's plans, that Xbox had secured exclusive cloud streaming rights for GTA 6 at launch — making Xbox Cloud Gaming the only streaming service, opening side access to PC via streaming (without a native PC version). The report also referenced statements by Xbox head Asha Sharma at an internal meeting. Matthew Ball, Chief Strategy Officer of Xbox (already a source for c-198), responded publicly on X on 7/10: “While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC” (translated: “While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We're looking forward to GTAVI launching on XBOX on November 19, but the game will not be streaming exclusively, not even on PC”). The fact has an owner: the statement concerns HIS OWN service (Xbox Cloud Gaming) via his own channel — partner_official, ceiling Confirmed, and it is also exempt as a denial (SCHEMA §2) regardless of ceiling. Context: the statement comes as Xbox has already announced (3/9, not specifically related to GTA 6) monthly cloud streaming hour limits for Game Pass tiers and a new pay-per-use option starting in November. No confirmation or denial from Rockstar/Take-Two — the fact remains purely between Xbox and the original report.

Rockstar writer Alexa D'Agostino said that Lucia can “stand tall” next to two iconic protagonists of the company — Arthur Morgan (Red Dead Redemption 2) and Niko Bellic (GTA IV).

In the same excerpt from LOVE #27 where D'Agostino talks about the inspiration behind Lucia (c-219), she continues: “When you focus on writing a fully realized person with wants of their own, you end up with something imperfectly perfect — clichéd, but also undeniably true. That's how you make a woman who can stand tall next to figures like Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic” (translation of the original: “That's how you get a woman that can stand tall next to the likes of Arthur Morgan and Niko Bellic”). Multiple outlets (Insider Gaming, NME, Diario AS, IBTimes UK, OpenCritic, GameRant) republished the same excerpt on 5-6/10 — the statement explicitly places Lucia on the same pedestal as the two most critically acclaimed protagonists of Rockstar/Red Dead in the company's modern era. Arthur Morgan is not a GTA character (Red Dead Redemption 2, same Rockstar studio) — the comparison is internal to the publication, not GTA-specific.

Leonida's residents notice when you eavesdrop on them or follow them for too long, and react accordingly.

In the same full interview, Nelson described a layer of NPC awareness that hadn't been explicitly mentioned before: beyond the active Greet/Taunt/Antagonize/Defuse system (c-082), Leonida's residents also passively notice your presence. Translated: “We tried to find a balance — if you stand too close to a group [to listen to them], they have to notice you and realize you're eavesdropping. If you stand there and try to listen to the whole conversation, they'll often turn around, notice you, and say “Hey, can I help you?”. Or if you follow people for a long time and very closely, so they hear you, they'll say “Hey, hi”. After that they might get aggressive, or just want to get away from you”. Nelson connected this to work that started in Red Dead Redemption 2 in a more sparsely populated world, now scaled up to a dense urban environment. What this adds: it clarifies that the “world's reaction” (already known from c-134) isn't triggered only by attacks or theft — it's also triggered by simple excessive proximity or prolonged following, with no active interaction from the player at all.

Focus also works as an out-of-combat tracker — it finds cops and objects on the map, not just slow-motion aiming.

In the same demo, Nelson revealed a second function for Focus — beyond the slow-motion aiming we already know about (c-072): “This is called "Focus", very close to "Eagle Eye" from Red Dead Redemption 2. You use it to spot things you want to find on the map — cops included, for sure”. He demonstrated it by activating it so that a nearby cop “lit up” on the screen. What this adds: Focus isn't just a Dead Eye-style combat tool — it also works as a detection/navigation tool outside combat, like the separate Eagle Eye in RDR2.

Studying wildlife is a collectible activity, separate from hunting.

In the same demo, Nelson showed Jason petting a dog in a park — beyond the already-known angel-icon option of the Criminal Profile (c-056), a “Study” option also appears. Asked whether it's a collection mechanic, he replied (translated): “Yes, you can study wildlife like something you collect. And just as a way to learn more about them. We brought that over from Red Dead Redemption 2. Like there, there's so much nature in the game, and that gives a way to interact with wildlife without necessarily having to shoot it — which I also like”. What this adds: u-activities-2 (hunting) had already been closed off by Game Informer (c-202) — this adds that there's also a non-lethal way to interact with wildlife, a separate logging mechanic.

Rupert Humphries (VP of narrative) says Rockstar didn't want to make a “statement” with Jason's military past — the player decides whether his criminal choices are necessity or character choice.

In a new interview with LOVE magazine, Rupert Humphries (Rockstar's VP of narrative, already a source for c-213/c-218) was asked whether Jason's military past can be read as a social-class story — whether failed social mobility was consciously written into the character. He answered: “We didn't want to make any statement with Jason's past. It should be understood that he takes the measures he takes —drug trafficking, bank robberies— because of his material circumstances. But a lot of it is left for the player to decide whether he has to do it, or whether it's a choice because he's wired differently from other people”. The answer surprised the journalist, since it implies that Jason's military past may not carry much narrative weight — contrary to the series' tradition of embedding social commentary (Humphries himself, in the same interview, referred to the “American Dream” as a recurring GTA theme, with GTA IV as a “hollow comment” on the idea of America as a land of opportunity, something that was “doubled down” with GTA V's cynicism). Source: GamesRadar+ (5/10), via a new interview with LOVE magazine. The interpretation of Jason's motives remains open until release.

Rob Nelson (co-head of Rockstar North) says GTA 6 “skips realism” when it needs to — the goal is immersion, not fidelity, because excess can become tiresome.

In a new interview with LOVE magazine, Rob Nelson (studio co-head, Rockstar North — already a source for c-174/c-216) explains the design philosophy behind the realism/immersion balance in GTA 6: “Sometimes things need to feel realistic to help that sense of immersion, and conversely, sometimes you need to skip realism in favor of what will be more convenient for the player — realism can help immersion a lot, but excess can become tiresome, so we try to find the right balance”. He added: “Sometimes a funny or moving parallel to some aspect of the real world helps the experience, and sometimes it's better to ignore or skip aspects of reality because they simply don't make sense with the experience we want to build; everything we do is done to support the sense of immersion in a world, the connection with its characters, and the story we weave through it”. The journalist notes an irony: the same reasoning comes while GTA 6's fuel-refill mechanic (already Solid, c-117) is being questioned by fans who fear it will become tiresome. Source: GamesRadar+ (5/10), via a new interview with LOVE magazine.

Rockstar builds GTA 6 in 8-week “milestone” cycles and opened a dedicated writers' room in Los Angeles solely for pedestrian NPC dialogue.

In an extensive report on how GTA 6 is being made (originally on GameSpot — 403 from this environment; the same material was republished verbatim by Kotaku, 5/10), Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North, described the development methodology: “We build the game through a series of 8-week milestones, where we assemble agreed-upon pieces of the game” — an iterative process “year by year, one obsessive day at a time, course-correcting along the way”. James Horton, open-world script director — a new name for the Archive — revealed that Rockstar created a dedicated “writers' room” in Los Angeles devoted exclusively to pedestrian NPC dialogue, with close production-writer collaboration so that thousands of unique Leonida residents have their own dialogue: “There are no shortcuts when you're building a world like this”. The report also states that development started in 2014 — already known. Kotaku wrote “over 150 animal species” (a slightly different number from the official “170+” in c-202 — possibly an inaccuracy by the outlet, doesn't change the already Confirmed c-202).

In an interview with LOVE magazine (issue 27), Rockstar describes Jason as a character who reacts to circumstances and Lucia as decisive — deliberately “vulnerable, tough, wrong sometimes”.

Issue 27 of LOVE magazine (out 5/10) features an interview with Rob Nelson (co-studio head, Rockstar North) and comments from narrative designers Rupert Humphries and Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern. Humphries describes the game's world as a deliberately exaggerated, crazier and more provocative version of today's reality — otherwise, he says, you could just step outside and live in the real world. He added that the setting combines “excessive wealth and ruthless ambition”, which makes it “fertile ground for outrageous situations”. Gauvey-Kern explains that they wanted both characters to be vulnerable, hard and flawed — right sometimes, wrong other times, capable of learning from each other: a deliberate choice of imperfect protagonists. Lucia is explicitly highlighted as the first female lead in the series' history with her own voice, developed narrative background and a leading role in dialogue — not just a “first female protagonist” in general terms (already known, c-009), but with explicit reference to her narrative weight. The piece is accompanied by 4 previously unknown stills (diner, bar pool table, black-and-white portrait) — press material, does not come down to the Archive (see M1). A new layer on top of the already known thematic background (c-204) and the lead duo (c-009). Additional independent coverage with the same quotes: beebom.com (2/10).

GTA 6 received ESRB Mature 17+ and PEGI 18 — both with full content descriptors, published on rockstargames.com/VI and on the PlayStation Store.

Update 1/10: the official rockstargames.com/VI page showed a full ESRB “Mature” rating card with the content descriptors Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol — plus a separate “In-Game Purchases” notice. The information circulated widely in the press the same day (GameRant, ScreenRant, EGW.News, TwistedVoxel) — all citing the Rockstar page itself as the source. **CORRECTION 3/10**: the European PlayStation Store (checked on the Greece page, playstation.com/en-gr) now shows the final “PEGI 18” rating (without “Provisional”) with descriptors for Drugs, Sexual Content, Extreme Violence, Nudity, In-Game Purchases — an upgrade from the “Provisional 18” of 1/10. Multiple independent press sources (playfront.de, talkesport, TwistedVoxel, GameGPU, 2/10) confirm the same. The pegi.info database continues to return timeout/0 results from this environment (as it did on 7/9 and 1/10) — the PlayStation Store GR (partner_official, confirmed ceiling) is the primary available confirmation. The “In-Game Purchases” descriptor does not contradict the already-Confirmed #089 (“no microtransactions in single-player”) — the rating covers the product as a whole (e.g. GTA Online), not the campaign exclusively.

The Miami Heat become “Vice City” for one night: collaboration with Rockstar — NBA game against the Milwaukee Bucks on 18/11, release eve, with custom court, new jersey, and programming dedicated to GTA 6.

The Miami HEAT itself (NBA.com/heat) announced: “Rockstar Games® joins the HEAT on November 18th to create A Night in Vice City” — on 18/11 the team will play as “Vice City” hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center, the eve of GTA 6's release (19/11). The broadcast will air nationally on ESPN and locally on Local 10 (South Florida). The Kaseya Center will be transformed into “Vice City” with a special court design, an original jersey never worn before, and live elements/programming dedicated to the game — the first time a major American league sports team has fully transformed (court+jerseys) for a video game title. The announcement explicitly links the lit “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center (already logged, c-183) to this larger campaign: the sign was fully lit on 1/10, one day before the official announcement of the partnership. As of today (2/10) a “Vice City” clothing collection (Court Culture line) is also available at Miami HEAT stores and on MiamiHeatStore.com. Tickets: HEAT.com/Tickets; details are updated at HEAT.com/ViceCity. The event is owned by the team/the NBA (partner_official) — Rockstar participates as a named partner in the same announcement.

Rockstar funded years of on-the-ground research in Florida: visits to bars/nightclubs/strip clubs, night patrols with former police officers, and excursions into the swamps and the Keys.

In the full digital issue of Game Informer (9/29), Rupert Humphries, Vice President of Narrative at Rockstar (already a named source in c-204), described the field-research method for Leonida: the developers traveled to Florida repeatedly over the years, visited bars, nightclubs and strip clubs, took night walks through neighborhoods with former police officers, and explored swamps/mangroves and the Florida Keys — all paid for by Rockstar as part of the job, aiming for an authentic experience beyond the tourist spots. There is NO verbatim quote available in the secondary articles (GTA BOOM/mobidevices/kantan.news) — a description/paraphrase of his statement, not an exact quote. Confirmed because it's a stated fact (not an interpretation) from a named executive in the same interview as c-204.

Leonida's map is so big that the main story doesn't have time to show everything — Rockstar deliberately designed independent exploration as part of the experience.

In the same series of Game Informer interviews (29/9) where Humphries talked about the field research (c-209), he explained why the story doesn't tour the player through every corner of Leonida: that they don't have time to show the player everywhere, but they want the player to be able to explore and get a sense of most places, the cultures, the climate (statement translated). Aaron Garbut (co-director Rockstar North, already a source for c-029) added that the team obsessed over every piece — the rooftops, the alleys, the interiors, and everything in between. New information beyond the already-known map size (c-029, double that of GTA V): Rockstar itself explicitly states the campaign does NOT cover the whole map — a design choice, not a limitation.

Sony opened a lottery in Japan for the PS5 Pro via Sony Store: entry requires 60+ hours of PS4/PS5 play in the last two years — applications until 7/10, results ~26/10, shipping in November.

Sony Interactive Entertainment opened purchase applications for the PS5 Pro (2TB CFI-7100B01 model, ¥137,980) on 28/9 via the Sony Store in Japan — a separate channel from regular retail stores. Requirements: a registered Japanese Sony account with an active PlayStation online connection and at least 60 cumulative hours of PS4/PS5 play between 27/9/2024 and 27/9/2026. Applications until 7/10 23:59 JST; if applications exceed stock, a lottery is held with results from ~26/10; winners must complete the purchase by 2/11 11:59 am. Shipping early-mid November 2026 — meaning possibly shortly before or around the release of GTA VI (19/11), but with no guarantee. DISTINCTION: Sony's own official page does NOT mention GTA VI anywhere — the stated purpose is anti-resale (to get stock to real players, not scalpers/tourists). The link to GTA VI demand is context/analysis from journalists (e.g. Kotaku, Tom's Hardware, game.watch.impress.co.jp) due to timing, not a stated reason from Sony. A different event from c-112 (US, August, simple retail stock exhaustion) — different country, different mechanism, different source. This was the reviewer's “WE MISSED” at the end of the 29/9 cycle (missed-latest.json) — closing today.

Over 170 animal species on land, in the air and at sea — native (flamingos, manatees, pelicans, alligators) and invasive (iguanas, macaques).

Michael Kane, VP of Dynamic Art at Rockstar, in Game Informer's full digital issue (29/9): “Florida has such a diverse animal ecosystem that we wanted to faithfully include across all of Leonida's biomes — urban and rural environments, aquatic life both inland and in the ocean, and wetland habitats like the swamps and the Everglades”. Game Informer recorded over 170 species in total — over 60 types of birds and over 30 land mammals/reptiles/fish. Native species: flamingos, manatees, pelicans, alligators. Invasive: green iguanas, cane toads, stray cats, rhesus macaques. Technical: new systems for iridescence, bioluminescence, translucency, and feather/fur variety built on top of RDR2's base. Animals are sorted into three tiers — Rare, Discoverable and Legendary — the identities of the hardest-to-find creatures weren't revealed. Fully answers the cover-reveal's promise (c-197) of “a massive amount of wildlife” with a named executive and title, and gives the first answer to u-activities-2 (hunting/tracking as a system) — the tier system shows tracking mechanics, though not yet shown in action.

Leonida's stories “thrive” amid rich and poor side by side — crime and corruption bind the characters together.

Rupert Humphries, SVP Narrative at Rockstar, in Game Informer's full digital issue (29/9) on Leonida's thematic thread: “Our narratives thrive in an environment where you have rich and poor side by side. And crime and corruption are the thread that binds everyone together”. First named statement from a narrative executive about the story's thematic backbone — it complements the geography of the six regions (c-203), where the Vice City/Port Gellhorn contrast makes the observation tangible.

Living world: weather that changes, wildlife, a world that reacts, social media inside the game.

Base: everything looks clear in official material. How deeply they operate in gameplay hasn't been explained. Shift 27/8: The living world moved from “looks” to “works”: the street lives around the duo on the route to Effluvia (el-04), NPCs with their own routines, in-game media everywhere. 28/9: Game Informer (c-197, Solid) previews for the 29/9 article “an advanced weather system that simulates Florida's less sunny phenomena” and “a huge amount of wildlife” on land, air and sea, native and non-native species — a press interview, not a Rockstar statement yet; if the article has direct designer quotes, “how deeply they operate” gets answered here.

Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records officially announced “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” — 34 original songs, out 19 November alongside the game, with six singles already available.

On 17/9 Rockstar announced on its own Newswire, in partnership with Atlantic Records, the official soundtrack album “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” — 34 original songs inspired by Vice City and Leonida, releasing 19 November, the same day as the game. The hub rockstargames.com/VI was updated with a dedicated section for the album (rockstargames.com/VI/music). Six songs were released immediately as first singles on all major streaming services: Yung Lean “That's It” (feat. Future & Metro Boomin), Travis Scott “RHYNO” (produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk), CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Étienne de Crécy on “Sexy Magic”, Morgan Wallen “Last Thing You Need”, Rauw Alejandro “Macacoa 2000”, and Keith Richards “Bright Lights, Big City”. The album is also releasing on physical copies: CD $19.98 (with booklet), vinyl $49.98 (two discs, transparent magenta with blue splatter) and a limited liquid-filled vinyl edition $124.98 — pre-orders from 17/9 at gtavi-thealbum.com, shipping from 20/11. Cross-checked with Billboard, Consequence, The Source, Complex, Vice — all describe the same set of artists/songs. Ties to the previous teasers (#c-190 artists, #c-191 Spotify billboards), which are now fully explained as groundwork for this announcement. At the end of the same post Rockstar wrote that more details about GTA 6's music would follow, “including dynamic music scoring, the next evolution of in-game radio, and more” — without explaining what that specifically means (open question). Ceiling: Confirmed — official_statement directly from Rockstar. 28/9: the Album cover (Jason and Lucia in a purple car with bullet holes, the title in neon) and the accompanying key art “Jason and Lucia — Beach” are in the official media hub (Artwork & Wallpapers) — added to the site's Album section and to the leads' cards (c-199).

Rockstar announced the official collector's edition “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection”: $399.99, 11 merchandise items, WITHOUT the game itself — shipping 19/11.

Rockstar opened pre-orders on 24/9 at store.rockstargames.com (and announced via Newswire) for the “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” — $399.99, inspired by the in-game TV show “Macca the Gator”. It includes 11 items: a Macca the Gator figure with a hidden compartment, Oakley Frogskins glasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses, a “Leonida Keys” shoulder bag, a New Era 9FORTY cap, a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City stirring spoon, a Vice City razor keychain, a set of 9 pins in a metal box and a set of 9 stickers, and a double-sided Leonida map poster. It does NOT include a copy of the game — merchandise only. Delivery 19/11/2026, limit one per customer. Pre-orders open immediately in North America and Europe; Asia, Latin America and Australia to follow on a later date. Checked directly on store.rockstargames.com (11/9-24/9 shows “This product is not available in your region” for Greece — expected, a purely North American/European store); price, date and contents cross-confirmed via rockstarintel.com. Definitively debunks the old rumored “~$229 Collector's Edition” (see #c-031, now Cap) — a different product, a different price, no game included. 28/9: the set's map poster became news on its own — the first image on the store showed island names that Rockstar removed within the day (c-200, pin-24).

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball stated that GTA VI pre-order share on Xbox “matches its console market share” — without giving a number.

After The Verge reported that GTA VI pre-orders are leaning heavily toward PS5 (Sensor Tower estimate: a ratio of over 3:1 in favor of PS5), Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball publicly responded on X on 24/9, addressing journalist Tom Warren: “Tom, we are very happy with GTA VI pre-orders. The title is breaking records for XBOX, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market.” The fact has an owner: the pre-order share on ITS OWN platform is internal Xbox data, so Confirmed as a statement about its own data (partner_official) — it does NOT confirm nor deny the actual PS5/Xbox ratio number, since Ball gave no percentage, only a comparison with Xbox's overall console market share (smaller than PS5 globally). Circana analyst Mat Piscatella commented on Bluesky that, given Xbox's market share, he wouldn't “brag” about something like that.

New official key art “Jason and Lucia — Beach” in Rockstar's media hub: the two embracing in front of the Vice City skyline — alongside The Album cover (17/9) and versions with logos (24/9).

On the official media hub at rockstargames.com/VI (Artwork & Wallpapers section, free wallpapers in 6 sizes), two new pieces of key art appeared on 17/9, alongside the announcement of “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (c-192): “Jason and Lucia — Beach” (Jason holds Lucia in his arms on a beach, gun resting on his shoulder, a skull-parachute tattoo on his arm, behind them the Vice City skyline with a Ferris wheel, palm trees and pelicans against a pink-orange sunset) and the Album cover (the two of them leaning against a purple car full of bullet holes, with the title in neon). On 24/9, the logo'd version of the beach image and a clean (no logos) version of “Robbery” were added. All four images were pulled from the hub and added to the site's Album with source and date (M1) and to the cards of the two protagonists (M6). DISTINCTION: the artwork on the cover of Game Informer #382 (27/9, the pair inside a red car full of bullet holes — a “continuation” of the Album cover according to Vice) is press material that has NOT been posted to Rockstar's hub; it does not go into the Archive until Rockstar itself distributes it (c-197).

Rockstar published official Mod Guidelines: it prohibits extending the story/missions and ports to unofficial platforms; it restricts multiplayer modding to its own Creator Platform.

Rockstar itself published an official “Mod Guidelines” page at rockstargames.com/community-resources/mod-guidelines that defines what's allowed for the mod community across all of its games, GTA VI included. Explicitly banned: mods that extend the official plot, missions or characters; mods that make Rockstar games run on consoles/hardware/platforms where they were never officially released (evidently targeting the known unofficial ports of older GTA titles to Switch/Wii/GameCube/iPhone); use of third-party intellectual property (voices, likenesses, music, brands) without a license. Multiplayer modding is restricted exclusively to Rockstar's official Creator Platform — communities like FiveM/RP have no official path outside of it. All modding must remain non-commercial unless distributed via the Creator Platform, with an explicit ban on crypto, NFTs, loot boxes and real-money gambling. Single-player modding that respects third-party intellectual property and doesn't touch online services remains allowed. Related to the already existing Cap #c-046 (“RP servers from day one”) — the new page doesn't change the conclusion (RP remains out of launch), but for the first time provides an official, written framework: Rockstar doesn't rule out RP long-term, it's just channeling it exclusively through its own Creator Platform. The page appears to have been live since 10/9 (first captured by Google News via the crawling net), but press coverage (GTA BOOM, TheGamer, ixbt.games, resetera) started 19-21/9 when the community noticed it and reacted negatively to the restrictions. URL live, checked directly on 21/9 (HTTP 200).

Nine artists (Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, Keith Richards) are confirmed to be participating in the GTA 6 soundtrack album.

On 15/9, nine artists simultaneously posted cropped fragments of GTA 6 artwork on their own X/Instagram accounts, tagging @rockstargames. Travis Scott wrote over an image with purple stiletto heels and a pole (translated): “Now is the time. My return to the game. Gotta come with a vengeance and a whole lot of dance. Let's go. J... O... to be continued. See you soon @rockstargames”. Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) posted artwork featuring an iguana. Future, Metro Boomin, and Yung Lean shared the same artwork of a purple Coquette car with a Leonida license plate. Morgan Wallen posted a pool ladder, Rauw Alejandro another piece from the same artwork set, and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso together with PinkPantheress posted artwork with a yacht theme. On 17/9, Rockstar itself, together with Atlantic Records, confirmed on Newswire that all of them are featured on “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (34 songs, out 19/11 — see #c-192): Travis Scott with “RHYNO”, Yung Lean with “That's It” (feat. Future & Metro Boomin), Morgan Wallen with “Last Thing You Need”, Rauw Alejandro with “Macacoa 2000”, Keith Richards with “Bright Lights, Big City”, and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso together with PinkPantheress on “Sexy Magic” — which also features Fred again.. and Étienne de Crécy, who had not posted anything on 15/9 and are now confirmed for the first time. Ceiling now Confirmed — official_statement from Rockstar itself.

GTA 6 will support 13 languages at launch (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese) — WITHOUT Greek, Turkish, Arabic, or Hindi.

At Take-Two's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (17/9 — see watch-calendar, the same session checked on 17/9 with no substantial news at the time beyond boilerplate), CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed the list of supported languages: English (the only language with full dubbing), French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Spanish (Spain and Mexico), Brazilian Portuguese — subtitles and interface translation, not voice dubbing. Same list as GTA V. Matches what the official store page shows. Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, and Greek are NOT included, despite months-long fan campaigns (e.g. #WeWantGTA6inTurkish). Cross-checked with RockstarINTEL, GameMapa, GamerMarkt. Official_statement directly from the parent company's CEO — ceiling: Confirmed.

Take-Two confirmed that GTA Online (from GTA V) will continue to be supported after the release of GTA 6 — GTA 6 launches as single-player, without an online mode of its own.

At the same Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (17/9), Strauss Zelnick answered a question about the future of GTA Online after GTA 6's release: “I have every reason to believe that we will continue to support GTA Online. There is a wonderful community that loves it, that remains devoted” (translated). IGN explicitly confirms: “Rockstar plans to support GTA Online "beyond" the launch of GTA 6, parent company Take-Two confirmed” (published 17/9). This concerns the EXISTING GTA Online (from GTA V) — it does not change what was already known from #c-008 (GTA 6 launches as single-player, with no online mode of its own announced yet). Zelnick also commented that “the PC platform is becoming increasingly important” for the company, but did not announce a date or commitment for a PC version of GTA 6 — it remains an open question (#c-034 in the Club). Cross-checked with RockstarINTEL, GameSpot, readdork, GamesRadar+. Official_statement directly from the CEO — ceiling: Confirmed.

Sony sets up an exclusive “room” for GTA 6 inside its booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (17-21/9) — screening of the Extended Look on a 300-inch screen with floor haptics, free t-shirt.

Inside the PlayStation booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (17-21/9), Sony officially announced on its own PlayStation Blog Japan (10/9, updated 14/9): “At the PlayStation booth, visitors can watch the new trailer "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" released on August 27 on a large 300-inch screen” — translated from Japanese. It adds: “In addition, with Sony's floor haptics technology, the floor vibrates in sync with the picture and sound, offering a high sense of immersion”. And: “Visitors who watch the theater will be given the "Grand Theft Auto VI | PlayStation" T-shirt as a gift”. There is no separate Rockstar/Take-Two booth at the show — the presence is purely Sony's, part of the “It Happens on PS5” campaign. Why Confirmed: the event belongs to Sony (its own booth/showcase product) and it announced it itself from its own official channel — partner_official, ceiling confirmed. First primarily confirmed today (16/9); until then it rested on secondary GTA BOOM.

GTA 6 is officially “PS5 Pro Enhanced” — Sony itself states it on the game's page; what the enhancement includes, nobody has explained.

Verified on 7/9/2026 against the page's own code: the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” badge appears twice in the title's features, and Sony's text says that “Grand Theft Auto VI releases for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro on 19 November 2026”. Why the label shifted: until today the Archive held the fact as Solid because it knew it from reporting (TheGamer, 29/8) — whereas the fact has an owner, and the owner of “PS5 Pro Enhanced” is Sony, which says it on its own channel. What does NOT change: nowhere on the page is there a promise about frame rate or a performance mode — not even for the PS5 Pro. 60fps remains a separate, open question (c-033, c-163), and the head of development himself spoke of 30fps. The badge says “enhanced”, it does not say “faster”. The same page also fed the PS5 Pro sold-out (c-112).

Rockstar responded publicly to the leaks (26/8): “heartbreaking for our team”, an apology that everything has been delayed — the game “almost ready” — and a plea that everyone wait for 19/11, despite the spoilers.

After a week of leaks (CyberLeek's waves of clips, c-093) and one day before the Extended Look, Rockstar broke its silence with a written statement on its socials, “Dear all… Sincerely, Rockstar Games”. The key points, translated: “It would be an understatement to say that having gameplay videos of Grand Theft Auto VI leak this way was heartbreaking for our team — and obviously this is not how we wanted you to see the game after all this time”. “We sincerely apologize that everything has taken so long — from finishing the game (almost there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay”. “While it is unfortunate that the experience we designed may now be affected by some spoilers, we hope everyone will wait a little longer to experience the game for themselves on 19 November”. It thanks the community for the messages of support and closes: “We are making this game for you”. What it does NOT say: not a word about the leaker, about legal action or about which build leaked — the legal side lives in c-096 and c-161. Why Confirmed: these are Rockstar's own words, a public written statement, republished in full and verbatim by Game Informer (26/8) and cross-checked against the same wording in Tom’s Hardware and Engadget. The Instagram post is not accessible to our tools as a link; the channel is declared in the source name, as the Constitution requires. Transparency: published 26/8, entered the Archive 6/9 — eleven days late. It was found by the new Detection Grid (query “leak”): the old detection checked “official” only on the Newswire, and the statement went out on socials — the saga's evidence notes (c-093, c-095, c-098) had never recorded the studio's own response.

Suppressive fire: you shoot beside the target on purpose to pin them down — and get away without killing cops or civilians.

Rob Nelson presented it as a “new feature” in the Famitsu interview: “Instead of shooting at your opponent, you deliberately miss and hit beside him — you scare or confuse him and buy time to get away”. The design purpose, in his own words: “to have the option not to kill cops or civilians while escaping”. He added that “there are many spots where you get through without killing anyone” and gave as an example the scene where Jason shoots at the patrol car's tires: it flipped over, no cop was killed. It ties into the narrative of the hunted couple. Careful: fighting remains an option — but it charges the Criminal Profile (c-055/c-057). Independent coverage: Kotaku 28/8, GameRant, VGTimes.

For the first time in the series you don't hide the guns: long guns stay visible in your hands — people back away and the cops stop you.

“In this game, for the first time, you can't carry concealed weapons” — that's how Nelson put it to Famitsu. He admitted the decision took a lot of thought, because pulling a shotgun or a rocket launcher out of nowhere was a hallmark of the series — they were afraid part of the fun might be lost, but judged that having more options is worth more. The realism rationale, in his own words: in GTA V you walked around with a carbine in your hand and nobody reacted — “way too unnatural”. A detail of the mechanic: carrying a long gun doesn't cause panic on its own; the reaction comes when you hold it in your HAND — then people walk off annoyed or react aggressively. And it fits the story: a couple hiding from pursuers doesn't go around openly armed.

Every Ammu-Nation sells its own exclusive weapons — and has a locker where yours are stored: whatever you drop on the street isn't lost.

“Every Ammu-Nation sells special weapons you can find only in that store” (Nelson, Famitsu) — and the range of types is large, with customization options beyond any previous game. On storage: “To manage long guns you have to go to an Ammu-Nation and use the locker — there's one in every store”. The crucial part for the player: “The weapons you own are always stored in the trunk of your personal vehicle or in the Ammu-Nation armory, so even if you drop one on the spot you don't lose it”. You can also store weapons in the trunk of ANY car, as long as you keep it. Open question from the guide (g-weapon-shops) that was NOT answered: what you keep if you get arrested.

Personal vehicles start with only three slots — you buy garages on the map for more, and otherwise you sell one to make room for the next.

“You can claim a stolen car as your own vehicle, but at the start you only have room for three. By buying garages at various points on the map you get more” (Nelson, Famitsu). He compared the swapping to managing horses in RDR2: “If you're keeping three cars and you want to make a new one personal, you have to sell one to free up space”. The personal vehicle is also the one that carries your weapons (c-131). Cars that are merely stolen show up grey on the radar and stay temporarily — they disappear on restart, exactly like RDR2's “borrowed” horses.

You have a bank account on top of your cash — and on “Wasted” or “Busted” you lose all the cash you're carrying on you.

“Besides the cash you carry, you also have your own bank account. Cash is at risk of being lost in a Wasted or Busted state — and if a cop or a civilian takes you down because you caused trouble, you lose all of it, so it's better to deposit it somewhere safe” (Nelson, Famitsu). He said it in the flow about the revamped wanted system — meaning the deposit is part of the risk calculation before every job, not a decorative app. “Busted” was already Confirmed (c-054); here we learn what it costs you. There is a banking app on the phone (c-142). CORRECTION 4/9: the original wording said “everything you carry on you” — the source says explicitly “cash”, and only that. It was narrowed, because the broader “whatever you carry” visibly contradicted c-131 (weapons always end up in the locker or the trunk).

The residents of Leonida aren't defenseless: they carry weapons too and they fight back — in a carjacking they may shoot at you, and you choose whether to answer or to run.

Nelson framed it as an explicit reversal for the series: “In previous GTAs the player was an extremely powerful being who acted like a god in the open world — the only one armed apart from the police”, and people simply got scared and ran. “The world of this game is different: very dangerous. Others may be carrying weapons and sometimes turn on the player”. A concrete example: when you steal a car from an NPC it may be enough to shout at them to get out, without a punch — but it may also not work, or they may even shoot you. Then you choose whether to shoot back (it charges the Criminal Profile) or to make a run for it. Nelson tied it to RDR2 as a continuation of the same work.

There are zones where you don't steal: around the hideout and in front of story shops — e.g. Dre’Quan's club.

“The area around the hideout is, let's say, a safe zone — and certain spots related to the story have been designated as protected zones” (Nelson, Famitsu). The example he gave: Jason goes with a friend to a strip club — it's Dre’Quan's club, so you don't steal a car in front of it. The rationale, in his words, is comically practical: “it's not good for business”. A mechanical protection of the narrative, so that the open world doesn't sabotage the characters' relationships.

For the first time pedestrians have real variety in height and body type — in previous GTAs the height variations were roughly two.

“We worked on both the number and the variety of pedestrians. For the first time we took into account differences in height and body type — in the previous games the height variations were about two” (Nelson, Famitsu). Asked whether that means fewer duplicate models, Nelson answered carefully: the goal is the natural, not the zero — “in real life too you cross paths with the same people every day”, it's just the glaringly repeated face that gets avoided. Ties in with the Los Angeles office working almost exclusively on the passers-by (c-125) and with the 600,000+ animations (c-090).

The story starts in the Leonida Keys, at Jason's first house — and the hideout moves as the chapters progress, like RDR2's camp.

“The story starts from the Leonida Keys — a gorgeous map, and this is where Jason's first house is, the one that showed up in the trailer” (Nelson, Famitsu). On the progression: “The story moves forward in chapters, and the characters' hideouts change along with it — something close to RDR2's camp”, with the residents having their own daily schedule. Nelson stressed that VI's hideout is “incomparably more complex” than any previous one in the series. Ties in with the story chapters (c-088) and with the Jason & Lucia apartment (pin-16), which is a later stage — not the starting point.

The map is revealed gradually: the unexplored areas stay hidden and show up only when you visit them — as in GTA V and RDR2.

“When you unlock new areas they are marked on the map, but as in GTA V and RDR2 the unexplored areas stay hidden and show up only when you actually visit them” (Nelson, Famitsu). An explicit, declarative answer to a question the Archive had kept open since its founding (u-hud-2): the satellite pause map does NOT show the whole state from the start. Consistency note: that the pause map is a satellite rendering remains c-084 (Solid) — here we're talking about its reveal, not its form.

The DualSense tells weapons, vehicles and activities apart with vibrations of their own — and the trigger controls acceleration, with extra push when you pull it all the way.

Asked whether the controller feedback changes per weapon and per activity, Nelson answered “it changes” and got specific: “The vibrations in the minigames and in the vehicles are all tuned, and in vehicles you control the speed depending on how far you press the trigger — if you pull it all the way, you accelerate even more”. And: “Tuning like that has been done everywhere”. This refers explicitly to the PS5 version. What was NOT said: nothing about the equivalent on Xbox, and nothing about the PS5 Pro enhancements (c-116, still unexplained).

Thousands of clothes, countless stores and hair salons across the map — at the hideout you cut your hair yourself, but with limited options.

“We have prepared thousands of clothing items — there are more character customization options than ever” (Nelson, Famitsu). The clothes come either as a mission reward or by purchase. On hair: “There are countless clothing stores and hair salons all over the map. You can cut your hair at the hideout too, but the options are limited — if you want to try many hairstyles, you have to go to a salon”. Practical consequence: changing clothes is ALSO a countermeasure against police recognition (c-052) — the stores are an escape tool, not just style.

The Scooter Bros app brings your personal vehicle to wherever you are — along with whatever you've got in its trunk.

“An app that delivers your car to you — Scooter Bros” (Nelson, Famitsu), within the same rundown that also mentioned a video app, a fitness app and a banking app. The feature is confirmed elsewhere in the interview too, as a counterweight to the fact that long guns are not concealed: “The vehicle can be delivered to you where you are, so it won't feel like a chore” — and the weapons travel with it in the trunk (c-131). Note for u-phone-1: the list of apps did NOT close — Nelson said explicitly “and many more apps”, so the question stays open.

The Criminal Profile does not give store discounts like RDR2's honor system — Rockstar explicitly rejected that solution as too “gamey”.

“In RDR2 the honor level changed, for example, the discount percentage in shops — but that's a purely gamey specification, so this time we didn't adopt that system” (Nelson, Famitsu). Instead, the profile assesses whether you are a professional criminal or violent and dangerous, and that regulates how aggressively the world around you responds to you. It answers ONE THIRD of u-profile-2 (prices): no. Missions and the ending remain open — Nelson only says that if you go on a rampage there “might” be an effect on the story, and that they don't want to punish the bad player.

Before the stars there's “Heat”: the police don't know where you are — they're looking for you off a description of clothes, appearance and vehicle from the report.

“Your exact position isn't known yet, but the search starts from information such as your clothes, your appearance and the vehicle you're driving. We call this state “Heat”” (Nelson, Famitsu). It's triggered, for example, when an NPC reports a theft and the radio calls out “the suspect is fleeing in the vehicle in question”. If you get out of the car the relevant icon goes out — but it's known that you're carrying a weapon, so you remain a suspect. c-051 already had the “what the police know” icons; here it gets a name and a pre-stars phase.

“Heat” has geographic limits: the police search inside a zone and as long as you're in it it doesn't go away — get outside the zone and the pursuers are lost.

“The police search inside the Heat zone, and as long as you're inside it the Heat doesn't go away. But if you manage to get outside the zone's limits, the pursuers disappear” (Nelson, Famitsu). Their explicit warning: even if the police leave the spot, getting back into the flagged vehicle exposes you again. It completes c-053 (“you lose yourself in the neighborhood and the search fizzles out”) by giving it a mechanism: it isn't time, it's distance.

Missions on their own do NOT give enough money for the story to move forward — the money is made in the open world, and that's what unlocks the campaign.

“With missions alone you don't earn enough money to advance the story. By making money in the open world, you gain the ability to advance the story” (Nelson, Famitsu) — declarative and categorical. They position it as the solution to an old problem of the series: “In previous games the missions and the actions in the open world were somewhat disconnected”; in RDR2 they came closer, here they “were fully unified”. c-063 already said that the money unlocks the story; THIS is the complementary half — WHERE it comes from. In practice: the open world isn't optional.

The gym is a proper minigame: three exercises a day, three days in a row, with stamina draining as you move — and most of the machines work.

“The training needs good control, responds nicely and is a fairly demanding minigame” (Nelson, Famitsu). Mechanics: “As you move during the exercise, stamina decreases, and you have to finish the set before it runs out. If you move too fast, you overload the body” — balance matters. Structure: “You have three exercises to do a day, and then you rest. If you keep it up for three days, the protagonist's stamina and muscle strength level up”. Most of the machines are usable (pull-ups too), and at the end you drink a protein shake and eat a bar.

Training raises the BASE health and stamina values; food gives a buff on top of those — and the buff is lost as soon as health drops below the normal threshold.

“The base values of stamina and health go up with training” (Nelson, Famitsu) — together with “endurance and muscle strength level up”. On food: “Foods have a buff effect and boost the meters. When health drops below the normal maximum, the extra that the buff had added is lost and does not refill above that point”. Energy drinks boost stamina specifically. Answers u-body-2: YES, the body touches other stats beyond stamina — explicitly health and strength. c-077 had only the permanent stamina build.

The status of the Jason–Lucia relationship and the bank account balance can be checked inside the game — the bond has a visible indicator, not just consequences.

“The status showing the relationship between the two, as well as the bank balance, you can check inside the game. As in real human relationships, to keep a good relationship you have to make an effort” (Nelson, Famitsu). MIND the distinction: this concerns the BOND, not the Criminal Profile — u-profile-1 (“do you see the profile anywhere as a number?”) is NOT answered here and stays open.

Without investing in the relationship you lose options — hand-holding, kissing — and the two carry on as plain accomplices; you can win them back, though.

“The two are not lovers — they move the story forward as plain partners. But the depth of the relationship changes the range of what they can do together. If you don't deepen the relationship, options like hand-holding and kissing are lost. With effort, though, you can win that relationship back” (Nelson, Famitsu). So if you don't want to bother with the relationship, that's fine: they carry on as plain accomplices — but you lose range. Nelson frames it as an explicit player choice: “a couple that makes it through together” or “not a couple, but a partnership”. It refines c-068 (“no gameplay bonus”): there is no bonus, but there is a range of options.

In heists as a duo you pick the role: you drive as Lucia with Jason shooting, or you leave her at the wheel and play Jason — she drives just as well.

“If the two of you rob a place and the police chase you, the player can control Lucia driving and leave the shooting to Jason. Lucia's driving skill is excellent too, so conversely you can leave her the wheel and control Jason shooting” (Nelson, Famitsu) — both splits are available, explicitly in both directions. Answers u-bond-3. Full picture: in the open world and on jobs you choose — in designed missions the role may be set or even switched by force (c-153). c-069 had only “one drives, the other shoots”; here we learn WHO decides.

In designed missions the switch happens by force midway — the game moves you to the other character, and in some it alternates you back and forth in sequence.

“There are also missions where the character you control changes by necessity” (Nelson, Famitsu). The example from the Extended Look itself: in the bank heist mission you first control Jason shooting at the patrol cars from inside the car Lucia is driving, and midway through the mission you move to Lucia driving, with Jason and Raul shooting from the back. “As in the ambush mission at the end of the video, there are also missions that alternate control between Jason and Lucia in sequence”. The reason for the restriction, in his words: in a mission at an apartment complex control was locked to Jason because as a former special forces man that was the natural thing, and it would be unnatural for Lucia to be giving the orders. It completes c-065 (the story can lock the switching): here it doesn't just lock — it forces.

Later in the game a vehicle fence shows up who removes the GPS trackers — the marked car gets clean and becomes sellable.

“Some vehicles you can't sell right away — those you dump halfway. Later, though, a car fence shows up too who can remove such trackers” (Nelson, Famitsu). Answers u-theft-3 (“does it ever get clean or does it always stay a risk?”): it gets clean — but not from the start. Nelson places it in the general escalation: “To get to stealing and selling luxury cars, you have to go through a few steps”. c-058 (WAINK) already showed the tracker before you touch the car; here the circle closes. The fence Randy also asks for specific vehicles to order.

The stolen ones you haven't claimed as your own show up grey on the radar: they stay for a while where you left them and vanish when the game restarts.

“Stolen vehicles appear on the radar as a grey icon. They're not your property, but they stay there for a while — they disappear, though, when you restart the game” (Nelson, Famitsu). He states the model explicitly: the horses of RDR2 — the ones you own and the ones you steal that stay temporarily. Practical consequence for the player: the stolen car is not storage; if you want it permanently, you make it a personal vehicle (c-132 — three slots at the start).

You can loudly order the driver to get out, without hitting them or dragging them out — sometimes they obey, sometimes they shoot you.

“When you steal a car being driven by an NPC, there are times when it's enough to shout at them to get out — without hitting them or dragging them out. Other times it doesn't work. And not only that: they may even shoot you” (Nelson, Famitsu). Then you choose: return fire or make a run for it — “if you return fire, the Criminal Profile is affected”. The traditional way is still available. It's the everyday face of c-134 (residents carry guns and fight back): theft has become a negotiation with risk.

Pay & Spray repairs and repaints so you can shake the Heat — color only, though; and once you sell there, it won't take a second car right away.

“At the Pay & Spray you repair the car and you can repaint it to escape the Heat state. But only the color changes — if you want a custom paint job, you have to go to a tuning shop” (Nelson, Famitsu). Time restriction: “Even if the car is sold, for a while you can't bring another vehicle to the same Pay & Spray. If you're in a hurry to sell, you have to find a Pay & Spray somewhere else”. Also: the cost of registering the vehicle as your own at the Pay & Spray is checked IN ADVANCE, before you steal it.

Store robbery with no traces: you go in through the back door with a snap gun, smash the cameras, disable the alarm — and leave without anyone finding out what happened.

Nelson's description in Famitsu, step by step: “You go in through the back door so they don't notice you — if you kick it in, the alarm goes off. You have a snap gun (a special lock-picking tool), so you get in quietly. Inside, if you destroy the cameras, nobody sees you; if you disable the security system, no alarm goes off. That way you can take the cash from the register on the sly — and if you simply walk away, nobody will ever find out what happened here”. The flip side: if you're seen getting ready with your gun out in front of the store, a helpful passer-by calls the police and they're waiting for you at the exit.

The map shows the gang hideouts AND how much cash or drugs they're holding — you sneak in and take it; the drugs go to the fence.

“From the map you get all kinds of information: you check the gang hideouts, sneak inside and take cash or drugs. The map also shows how much cash or drugs is stashed in each hideout — and the drugs you grabbed you take to the fence” (Nelson, Famitsu). In the same breath: “You can hit jewelry stores or small banks, alone or the two of you”. It's the practical side of c-147: the open world has visible, measurable income.

The stars don't go up easily: Rockstar carefully weighs how many each act gives, so that the system doesn't become excessively strict.

“It depends on the type and the degree of the act, but the stars don't go up easily. How many stars each player action gives is something we judge carefully, making sure the rating doesn't become excessively harsh” (Nelson, Famitsu) — answering a remark by the journalist who saw live gameplay. Combined with c-039 (witnesses) and c-145 (Heat): the system shifted the weight from automatic punishment to investigation — “at two stars getting away is absolutely feasible”.

More than 50 real street artists were brought in to design Vice City's murals — centered on the Stockyard, built on Miami's Wynwood.

From Dazed's feature, written with access to Rockstar: “More than 50 real street artists were brought in to design murals in places like Vice City's Stockyard (based on Wynwood, Miami).” Stockyard already exists as a place name on our map from the Trailer 2 signage — now it gains documented content too. The same feature documents c-070 and c-076.

An entire Rockstar office in Los Angeles works almost exclusively on the passers-by — the street NPCs.

“It has offices around the world, with one branch in LA dedicated almost solely to the world of in-game pedestrians (NPCs).” Jamie-Lee Lloyd (senior character art director) adds in the same feature that the team developed “new tools and pipelines that enabled us to build the most detailed and varied character population we've ever created”.

Vehicle handling is tuned by a team made up of actual race-car drivers.

“The team that deals with vehicle handling is made up of literal race-car drivers.” Stated in Dazed's feature as a sample of how specialized the teams are — no names and no team size were given.

Rockstar has been working since 2023 with Miami stylist Jillian Carr to build Vice City's “fashion ecosystem”.

Carr speaks in the feature as a Rockstar collaborator since 2023: clothes encode “taste, lifestyle, affluence and individuality”. Hers is the key line for the city's tone: “Vice City is built around vanity. Between social media, celebrity culture and a constant flow of tourists, appearances carry significant weight, and trend cycles turn over quickly.” It documents that fashion is a designed system, not decoration — exactly what you buy and where has not been announced.

The body shows the exhaustion too: many days away from the bed — on the run or on an all-nighter — get carved into Jason's and Lucia's faces.

Dazed's full wording: “Food affects Jason and Lucia's weight, while exercising visibly builds and tones their muscles. And, if you end up spending a long time away from your bed, on the run from police or on a multi-day bender, their features are going to pay the price for that as well.” The first part was already logged by c-076; here the third dimension is added — sleep. Together they answer u-body-1: the change is VISIBLE, not subtle.

Preload starts on 12 November for digital pre-orders — one week before release, officially confirmed by Rockstar.

Basis: consistent mention in pre-order news coverage. It does not have its own Rockstar page yet — we will confirm it again closer to launch. Shift 31/8: Upgrade Solid → Confirmed: the 12/11 date is now documented in an official Rockstar confirmation (GameSpot/GamesHub coverage), not just in pre-order news coverage. Corrects the “it does not have its own Rockstar page yet”.

Recognition countermeasures: a full change of appearance — clothes, mask, vehicle — or splitting up the duo; a haircut on its own isn't enough.

Rob Nelson explained in the previews how the police recognize you by what you're wearing: a hair change alone isn't enough — it takes a full change of appearance or vehicle.

The fugitive's handbook in action: you torch the car, switch vehicles, disappear into the neighborhood — and the search fizzles out.

The getaway on the Raul job closes exactly like that: burning the car, switching vehicles, vanishing into Bayside — the whole cycle visible in the video.

“Busted” is back — and one of the two can get arrested while the other stays free.

From Rockstar's explanations in the 27/8 previews: arrest is once again a possible ending, and the duo doesn't always “go down” together.

The police can surround you and wait outside — second exits are part of the heists' design.

The cops don't always charge in: they can set up a cordon and force you to think — that's why alternate escape routes exist.

Switching Jason/Lucia freely, any moment in the open world — at story points it may lock.

Confirmed by the preview: switch at any time in free roam; the story may temporarily disable it where the scene demands it.

The switch works in mid-air too: from Lucia's parachute straight into Jason's day.

Seen outright in the EL: while Lucia is coming down under the parachute, the camera moves to Jason with no loading — the switch has no ground requirements.

The inactive character lives their own day and sends you messages — if you ignore them, the bond wears down.

The duo's relationship is a system with a cost: whoever you're not controlling goes on with their life, gets in touch — and keeps score.

The Jason–Lucia romance is optional: it's built through shared activities and changes scenes — with no gameplay bonus.

There is no “right” path: how close the two are changes dialogue and scenes, but gives no numerical advantage.

In the car as a duo: one drives, the other shoots — like in the chase on the job with Raul.

Lucia at the wheel, Jason at the window: the division of roles on the move is seen in action in the four-star chase.

As a passenger you can just scroll on your phone while the other one drives — taking it slow is an option.

From Dazed's feature (26/8): you cruise the highway as Jason — or switch to Lucia in the passenger seat and scroll on the in-game phone.

Stamina builds permanently through exercise — and smoothies/shakes give temporary energy.

From the preview: running and climbing drain stamina, systematic exercise raises it permanently, the drinks are the quick boost.

The phone is an object inside the world — the character holds it in their hand; that's where the apps live: WAINK, Ryde Me, Snapmatic.

Not a HUD menu but a physical object: the character pulls it out, looks at it, puts it away. The apps are the operational hub of a fugitive's life.

RydeMe is the game's taxi app: you call a ride with a driver — and you can skip it, like on public transport.

VI's rideshare parody: you call a driver from the app, you talk with the passengers along the way — or you skip it. Fast travel becomes part of the world.

Snapmatic: you see posts and follow — but as a fugitive you don't upload anything of your own.

The in-game social network works one-way for the protagonists: Jason and Lucia are in hiding — posting would give them away. A design detail that ties into the wanted system.

A stamina meter appears on the HUD next to the minimap when you run or climb.

Visible in the escape from the apartment block. The leak's extra details about stamina were not confirmed — only the existence of the meter.

The day off in action: basketball, gym, fishing, airboat in the swamps, diving, shooting range, strip club, races.

All visible in the day-off montage (16:49–19:36) — the activities are no longer guesswork from screenshots but gameplay in motion.

Activities with company build the relationships — fishing with Cal isn't decoration, it counts.

Fishing with Cal appears in the EL montage; in the preview Rockstar explained that shared activities feed the relationship system.

The campaign runs ~80 hours — that's how long Rob Nelson took on a full playthrough with part of the optional content.

The co-head of Rockstar North finished the game in ~80 hours, along with optional objectives with narrative ramifications. For comparison: GTA V ~30, RDR2 ~50-60.

The story is structured in chapters, with decisions small and large — some consequences come immediately, others pile up later.

From the preview: small choices accumulate into bigger consequences, while some big ones change the course immediately.

600,000+ hand-crafted NPC animations (GTA V: 55,000, RDR2: 300,000) — with a dedicated team exclusively for the NPCs.

Aaron Garbut in the NYT: a team in LA just for NPCs, “someone has thought about every room in the game”. Ten times the animations of GTA V, double those of RDR2.

Interiors with no loading screens: the finale flows from the street into the elevator and onto the Megamundo floor without a cut.

The seamless streaming of the interiors is visible as-is in the elevator scene — one continuous shot from the entrance to the battlefield. The “how many buildings you can enter” remains without an official number.

Rockstar's first official reaction to the leaks (26/8): “heartbreaking for the team” — and the game is “almost ready” (“nearly there!”).

Source: Rockstar's own statement on its socials, 26/8 — “this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game”. It indirectly validates that the clips were real (from an old build) and puts development on the home stretch.

Zelnick defended the Netflix-first reveal: “part of Rockstar's marketing strategy” — the six-hour exclusivity was a deliberate choice, not a coincidence.

Early access will NOT exist — in any form. Take-Two ruled it out explicitly (8/8): everyone starts at the same moment, on 19 November.

Source: Take-Two's statements in the August wave — Zelnick said they could charge for early access “with the hype that's out there”, but the choice is value instead of charging. Anyone selling you “early access” is robbing you.

Zelnick on the price: $80 is an “incredible bargain” — “we deliver far more value than we charge for”.

Source: Zelnick statements, mid-August. Pricing belongs to Rockstar, and the line is steady: $80/€79.99 Standard, $100/€99.99 Ultimate. The fear of increases is confirmed nowhere. No indication of a pricing change.

The $100 Ultimate is outselling the $80 Standard in pre-orders — Zelnick said it himself, noting that by launch the ratio will probably even out.

Source: the official video itself — the track is clearly audible in the elevator scene. Collins had songs in both classic Vice City games, and a cameo in Vice City Stories. His return is a statement of intent.

The Extended Look filled the soundtrack with newly identified tracks — Lil Wayne, Sexyy Red, Depeche Mode and Phil Collins among them. The full list lives in Trailers.

The PC version is expected in the first quarter of 2027 — a much shorter window than the 19 months GTA V took.

Shift 13/10: GamesBeat (Alexander Lee) published a report based on “four industry sources with knowledge of Rockstar's plans”, all anonymous “so as not to harm professional relationships”: the PC version is placed in the first quarter of 2027 (January-March) — two to four months after the console release (19/11/2026), versus the 19 months GTA V took. Rockstar did not respond to a request for comment before publication — no confirmation or denial from Rockstar/Take-Two. The story was relayed same-day by dozens of outlets (IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer, Polygon, Forbes, Tom's Hardware, Rock Paper Shotgun, Engadget etc.) with no new primary confirmation — all point back to the same report. Replaces the earlier estimate of “late 2027/early 2028” (based only on the history of previous titles, no source) — SAME question (“when is PC coming”), new and more specific evidence. Ceiling Solid: journalism with a named source (Alexander Lee/GamesBeat) and a named statement of methodology (4 anonymous sources) — not an official statement. Miami's real-life E11even nightclub transforms for ONE night (6/11) into “Nine1Nine”, GTA 6's fictional club — its own promotional stunt, NOT an official Rockstar/Take-Two event.

Nine1Nine (or "Sexiety Nightclub") first appeared as a fictional club in the first GTA 6 trailer (December 2023), with an airship banner over Vice Beach reading "Why Sixty Nine When You Can Nine 1 Nine" — an obvious pun reference to the real E11even, Miami's 24-hour superclub. E11even responded at the time with its own airship banner ("When Nine 1 Nine = E11even"), adopting the comparison for its own publicity. GTA BOOM (30/10, via the club's own announcement) writes that E11even is hosting its own "IRL grand opening" event for NINE1NINE on Friday 6/11/2026, with Flo Rida as headliner — entry from ~$40-45, VIP tables, age 21+, dress code, non-transferable tickets. The article explicitly clarifies, translated: “This is the club capitalizing on the joke, not an official Rockstar Games event. No involvement from Take-Two Interactive” — no involvement from Rockstar/Take-Two. Miami New Times independently confirms the same event (30/10). Verified directly on the club's own official website (11miami.com, where nine1nine.club redirects): a ticket listing "NINE1NINE VICE CITY GRAND OPENING" and a separate listing "FLO RIDA AT E11EVEN" dated 6/11/2026. The event owner is E11even itself (a private business capitalizing on the publicity) — not Rockstar.

Every vehicle has a fuel gauge and an engine condition indicator; it can travel long distances before needing to refuel.

Edge #430 describes a new vehicle management system: each car has its own fuel gauge and separate engine condition indicator, with the ability to travel long distances before needing to refuel. Description of the content (via GTA BOOM, 30/10) without a named quote from staff — ceiling Solid.

The WAINK phone app functions as a job board for fences — target vehicles with location tracking; expensive ones alert the police, and there are signal blockers at drop-off points.

Edge #430 reveals the “WAINK” app on the player's phone: a list of vehicles that fences are requesting, with location-tracking information. The more expensive/high-end vehicles automatically alert the police to their location — countermeasure: signal blockers exist at drop-off points. The vehicle's condition/wear affects the payout. Expands the Vehicle Theft system. Description without a named quote — ceiling Solid.

The Scooter Bros phone app delivers your personal vehicle for a fee — your weapons are stored in the trunk.

Edge #430 describes a second phone app, “Scooter Bros”: it delivers the player's personal vehicle to wherever they are, for a fee — a practical solution instead of travelling or stealing another car. The player's weapons are stored in the trunk of the delivered vehicle. Description without a named quote — ceiling Solid.

The Heat system logs appearance, clothing, weapons, accomplice, and CCTV footage that identifies you; changing clothes or discarding a weapon removes identifying traits.

Edge #430 expands the Wanted 2.0 system: “Heat” tracks what the police know about you — appearance, clothing, weapons, whether you have an accomplice, and CCTV footage that has recorded you. Changing clothes or dropping the weapon removes identifying traits from the profile the police keep — separate from the Criminal Profile (Professional/Irredeemable, c-055), which affects the narrative. Take-Two filed 16 US trademark applications (28/10) for “Vice City”, “Vice City Leonida”, “GTA” and “Rockstar Games” — mostly for merchandise, three weeks before launch.

Take-Two Interactive filed sixteen US trademark applications on 28/10 for “Vice City”, “Vice City Leonida”, “GTA” and “Rockstar Games” — three weeks before launch (19/11). Four of the applications are for “Vice City Leonida” (pairing the city with the state of Leonida) on an intent-to-use basis — meaning Take-Two hasn't sold anything under that name yet — and cover sunglasses, bags, printed guides and the jewelry/watches class. Other applications (Vice City clothing such as T-shirts/hoodies/jackets/caps, Vice City lighters, GTA bags, Rockstar Games printed material) list a first-use date of 8/10 — meaning Take-Two had already started selling some of these products before filing the applications three weeks later. This is a routine, scheduled trademark filing for a merchandise portfolio ahead of launch — not new game content or a reveal. Ceiling Solid: journalistic report (TalkEsport) on a public USPTO filing, with no official Take-Two/Rockstar statement on the matter — the Archive did not directly verify the USPTO register (TESS/TSDR, JS-rendered, not mechanically accessible from here).

Miami-Dade approves a $3.9 million marketing package with Rockstar — lighting at the airport/port, billboards, ads on the Metromover. The idea of renaming the airport was abandoned.

The idea: Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava proposed a marketing partnership to Rockstar around the launch — Vice City branding on the Metromover, murals on public buildings, even manhole covers with the logo, aimed at revenue from player tourism. The reactions, translated: Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz — “At a time when police are working every day to reduce violence, prevent robberies and car thefts, and build relationships with communities, I believe we need to think seriously about what message we send when our own government promotes a fictional identity built on those very crimes.” Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez — “We need to showcase the Miami-Dade we worked so hard to build, not a fictional version of it defined by crime and violence.” Chief Judge Ariana Fajardo requested in writing that every courthouse building be excluded. The county's position at the time: there had been “some discussions with Rockstar about potential opportunities around the launch,” but “nothing has been agreed or formally approved.” CORRECTION 13/9: the same package of proposals also included temporary Vice City branding at Miami International Airport (MIA) — explicitly mentioned in the joint Cordero-Stutz/Bermudez statement, which closed with the line “Miami-Dade County is not Vice City.” CORRECTION 19/9: the county's night budget session (18/9) revealed that “nothing has been approved” no longer holds for the whole package — Mayor Levine Cava had already signed a ~$1 million contract specifically for signage on the Kaseya Center roof (full story at c-183), without previously informing the board. MIA airport and the Metromover remain at the discussion stage, not agreement. Cross-check: NBC 6 South Florida (3/9), GamesRadar, Axios Miami, Kotaku (4/9), official miamidade.gov announcement (3/9), WLRN/WUSF, WLRN/Local10 (18/9). Rockstar has made no public statement about either piece. CORRECTION 13/10: at a regular session the previous week (reported by local outlet The Miamian, re-reported by GTA BOOM), Commissioners Rene Garcia and Danielle Cohen Higgins openly opposed the plan to turn MIA/PortMiami/Metromover into “Vice City.” Garcia: “I feel very uncomfortable with all of this” — he doesn't want the county associated with “a game that depicts Miami as a crime/murder capital.” He also mentioned, skeptically, the figure of “at least $150 million” that Rockstar is reportedly spending on marketing — a figure that has NEVER been confirmed by Rockstar/Take-Two, and comes exclusively from his own public statement at the session, not from an official source. Cohen Higgins cited a county policy banning advertising for material that promotes pornography/prostitution/violence, drawing a parallel with the rejection of a $10 million proposal against an adult company in 2019. A committee vote scheduled for **20/10** could cancel the entire MIA/Metromover piece — separate from the already-signed Kaseya Center deal (c-183), which is unaffected. New watch-calendar line for 20/10. SHIFT 29/10 (9 days unconfirmed, ultimately resolved by the outcome itself): Miami-Dade announced an approved $3.9 million marketing package with Rockstar — but in a limited form compared to the original proposal to rename the airport “Vice City.” The final package: themed lighting at Miami International Airport (MIA) and PortMiami, advertising screens on the walkways connecting parking to terminals, a GTA 6 gradient design on traffic signal cabinets throughout the county, and a separate ad campaign on Metromover/Metrobus/Metrorail. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, translated: “With millions of people around the world waiting for this release, we have the opportunity to ensure Miami-Dade benefits from that attention — these deals turn excitement into additional revenue for our community” (GTA BOOM/RockstarINTEL/Techtroduce, 29/10). The county still has to approve the final designs before implementation; Rockstar bears the cost of installation, maintenance, and removal. No mention of renaming the airport itself “Vice City” — the original, more ambitious plan (which had triggered the Garcia/Cohen Higgins/Sheriff Cordero-Stutz pushback) was abandoned in favor of this limited, purely advertising-based form. Separate from the already-signed Kaseya Center deal (c-183). Watch-calendar: CLOSED after 9 days outstanding.

Separate Rockstar teams worked exclusively on the fictional brands, billboards, radio ads, TV shows and political campaigns within the game.

Edge #430 reveals that Rockstar organized separate, dedicated production teams for each level of Leonida's “fake world”: fictional commercial brands, billboards, radio spots, TV programs, and political campaigns within the game's universe (an example already visible: the fictional channel Weazel, see c-301). Coverage of the piece via VICE (29/10), with no named quote from an executive on this specific point. Ceiling: Solid.

An entire studio in Los Angeles was dedicated to the residents of Leonida — every NPC has a written personality (temperament, aggressiveness, location, what they've seen) and a different reaction per neighborhood.

Instead of relying mainly on pre-set systems to “set up” interchangeable crowds, Rockstar built an entire team of writers, directors, and producers based in Los Angeles exclusively for Leonida's NPCs — 600,000 animations created art-directed, one by one (see also c-029 for the map). Each resident gets personality traits that determine how they react: temperament, aggression, location, what they've seen, how the player treated them. Different neighborhoods have a different “texture” — in some, residents prefer to confront you rather than run away. Coverage of the piece (Simon Parkin, Edge, via PC Gamer/VICE, 29/10) — no named Rockstar quote for the overall claim, but a confirmed detail from the studio's briefing. Ceiling: Solid.

Holding a visible weapon worries bystanders even if you don't aim at anyone; you can put it down and de-escalate before a wanted star goes up.

Edge #430 describes a new detail of the NPC reaction system: simply displaying a weapon (e.g., carried over the shoulder) worries bystanders less than holding it in your hands ready to use — and in some cases they may provoke you. The game allows room: if you put the weapon down, there's a window to de-escalate the situation before reaching an official wanted star. This adds to the already-known Heat/Criminal Profile (c-048, c-051, c-055) with a new prevention detail before the star system is even triggered. Description of the piece via VICE (29/10), without a named quote. Ceiling Solid.

Crimes become less predictable: a robbery victim may resist, a bystander may intervene in a gas station robbery, or other drivers may challenge you to a street race during your getaway.

Edge #430 gives three concrete examples of how much less scripted-predictable Rockstar wants GTA 6's crime scenes to be: a street robbery victim may resist instead of giving in, a gas station customer may intervene during a robbery, and other drivers on the getaway route can challenge you unexpectedly to an impromptu street race. This adds to the already-known pattern of resident resistance (c-134, c-156) with additional, unscripted variations. Description of the piece via VICE (29/10), without a named quote. Ceiling Solid.

Police dogs (K-9) take part in chases — a new unit in the arsenal of the Leonida police.

Edge #430 confirms that K-9 units (police dogs) actively participate in police chases in GTA 6 — the first explicit mention of this unit for the game. Description of the piece via VICE (29/10), without a named executive quote. Ceiling Solid.

GTA 6 puts natural gating on the main story — small waits or a need to gather money before continuing, instead of moving straight into the next mission like in previous GTA games.

Edge #430 describes “natural gating” in the main mission line: small blockages that require you to wait a set amount of time or raise money before moving on to the next mission — unlike previous GTAs, where the next mission unlocks immediately. In practice, the player has to go out of their way to raise money through side activities (store robberies, vehicle theft via the WAINK app). The report doesn't attribute statements to a specific Rockstar executive — it's the journalist's description after game access, which is why the ceiling is Solid, not Confirmed. The game “still accommodates” those who want to blitz through the main story quickly.

Miami coffee shop Vice City Bean released a limited “Leonida” coffee line to mark GTA 6 — its own collaboration, not an official Rockstar statement.

Miami coffee shop Vice City Bean (three locations) released a limited “Leonida” coffee line — a Colombia/Ethiopia blend, 10oz for $23, with cocoa/apricot/Brazil nut notes. The product page itself reads “the blend that celebrates our city, Miami, and the release of Rockstar Games' GTA VI” — the product's creator, not Rockstar, explicitly links the name “Leonida” (the game's fictional Florida-stand-in state) to Miami as the inspiration for Vice City. Press pickup (GameSpot, Beebom, eGamers.io, Multiplayer.it, 28/10) describes the same product as an “official collaboration”, but NONE of the outlets quote a statement or press release from Rockstar/Take-Two itself — confirmation comes exclusively from the participating business, the same pattern as the Burger Shot pop-up at the Kaseya Center (c-280) and the Skinny Louie stores (c-290-ish/already logged): the business confirms ITS OWN participation, not Rockstar. Solid ceiling (creator/business-confirms-own-participation) — not Confirmed, no official Rockstar statement found. The soundtrack song “Flower in a Hurricane” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 (No.62) — the third song from “GTA 6: The Album” to reach the chart.

Billboard reports that “Flower in a Hurricane” — the song by French duo Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, part of “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (<a href=/claims/#song-47>song-47</a>) — debuted at No.62 on the Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated 31/10), with 4.6 million official US streams. It's the first Hot 100 hit in the career of Australians King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, after 28 studio albums, and the third song from the Album to reach the chart — after Morgan Wallen's “Last Thing You Need” (peak No.9) and Travis Scott's “RHYNO” (peak No.84), which debuted on the chart dated 3/10. Official music chart measurement (Billboard/Luminate) — ceiling Solid (creator-tier journalism, not a Rockstar/Take-Two statement).

Edge magazine got exclusive access to Rockstar North for issue #430 (29/10): a 16-page cover story with executive interviews and new image material from GTA 6.

PC Gamer and GamesRadar+ (27/10) confirm that Edge magazine visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh to report on GTA 6 — exclusive interviews with studio executives and fresh image material. Issue #430 hits newsstands on 29 October with a 16-page cover feature, a gatefold cover with Jason and Lucia, and — according to GamesRadar+ (same company, Future plc, publishes both) — the full article will be posted online for free the same day. It's the second major magazine cover story after Game Informer #382 (29/9, c-197) — the same pattern of press deep-dives a few weeks before launch (19/11), and it coincides with the “Thursday announcement” pattern the watch-calendar is tracking. Ceiling: Solid — this is journalistic access (creator/press), not a statement from Rockstar itself — the content of the article will be judged separately once it's published on 29/10.

Rockstar employees in the United Kingdom will vote on IWGB union recognition from 12-26 November — a period that also covers the GTA 6 launch (19/11).

A press release obtained by Kotaku (27/10, source likely the IWGB union itself) says Rockstar employees in the United Kingdom will vote through a formal recognition process from 12 to 26 November — if it passes, it will be the largest recognized video game union in the UK. The unionization group has been meeting with management since July (the same series of meetings Jennifer Kolbe described, c-255) but requested voluntary recognition ahead of GTA 6 — Rockstar moved to a vote instead. The voting period overlaps with the game's launch (19/11) and with the Glasgow employment tribunal (c-171) for the 31 employees laid off in 2025 — the article notes that final submissions there are expected on 17-18/11. Multiple outlets (Kotaku, TechPowerUp, Beebom, Rock Paper Shotgun, Aftermath, The Verge) reran the same release — no direct on-record statement within the article itself. Ceiling: Solid — journalistic rerun of a third-party release, not an official statement from Rockstar itself.

Rockstar is sponsoring free tickets (lottery) for the BAYO festival (10th anniversary, Michaël Brun) in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, 22 November — three days after launch.

Haitian producer Michaël Brun announced (14/10) the return of the BAYO festival to Miami's Little Haiti for its 10th anniversary, on 22 November 2026 — three days after GTA 6's release. His own statement (translated): “New venue, huge surprises, our most iconic lineup to date, and FREE tickets courtesy of Rockstar Games”. Admission is free via raffle (bayotour.com), with more than half the spots reserved for Florida residents and the Haitian community — up to 7,500 attendees, the biggest BAYO edition in Little Haiti so far (cross-checked: Axios Miami, Vice, BroadwayWorld, FrontView Magazine). Part of the same broader Miami marketing campaign (Kaseya Center c-183, Wynwood Walls c-242, Miami Beach c-179/c-284) — extending the sponsorship into a cultural/music event, not just signage/advertising. Caveat: also spotted (without explicit Rockstar confirmation, so not a claim) photos of unrelated signage in Times Square (New York), buses in Chicago, and a mural on Hollywood Boulevard (Los Angeles) — Vice.com explicitly notes that Rockstar's ownership of these has NOT been officially confirmed, unlike Miami.

GTA 6 ads appeared on the pitchside LED boards of Camp Nou during the Real Madrid-Barcelona Clásico (25/10), in front of ~650 million TV viewers worldwide.

On 25 October, during the Real Madrid-Barcelona Clásico at Spotify Camp Nou, the stadium's perimeter LED screens repeatedly displayed the GTA 6 logo with the message “Coming 19 November” — in front of ~63,000 spectators at the stadium and an estimated global TV audience of ~650 million. The event was confirmed with video/photos from multiple independent outlets (Vandal — a recognized Spanish gaming site, Beebom, TalkEsport, khelnow, droidfeats) without an explicit Rockstar/Take-Two statement on the advertising deal — ceiling reliable, just like the first TV spot on NBA opening night (#281). Part of the same global pre-release marketing campaign, first time at a European football stadium (after Miami #179/#183, Paris #237, Brooklyn #223).

Real “Burger Shot” AND “Cluckin' Bell” have opened at Kaseya Center — the two GTA fast food chains — with Vice City/Macca & Friends posters, ahead of the “Vice City Heat” game on 18/11.

Photos from Kaseya Center (relayed by IGN, Mezha.net, GTA BOOM) show that the arena's burger concession stand was renamed “Burger Shot” — the well-known GTA fast food chain — with posters for the fictional brands Vice City and Macca & Friends hung up inside the arena. It's not clear whether the menu actually changed or if it's just a decorative renaming. Part of the wider “A Night in Vice City” activation (already logged, c-212): on 18/11 the Miami Heat play as “Vice City Heat” hosting the Milwaukee Bucks, the eve of release (19/11), at the same arena where the “Welcome to Vice City” sign is already lit up on the roof (c-183). The venue/event owner is the arena/team — Rockstar is involved as a named partner, as in c-212. UPDATE 25/10: beyond Burger Shot, a real “Cluckin' Bell” — the second fictional GTA fast food chain — ALSO opened inside the arena, next to a huge “Macca & Friends” mural featuring the alligator mascot figure. Staff wear branded GTA VI uniforms. Prices are premium: the cheapest combo at Burger Shot costs $28.50 (before tax), a bacon burger $31. Cross-checked: Beebom, VGC, GameSpot (23-24/10) — no official Rockstar/Take-Two statement on the terms of the partnership, owner remains the arena/team.

The “Skinny Louie” chain is turning ALL of its Florida locations into “Burger Shot” pop-ups, from early November through 31/12 — beyond the single Kaseya Center kiosk (c-280).

Secret Miami (24/10) revealed that the “Burger Shot” activation isn't limited to the single Kaseya Center kiosk (already logged, c-280) — the burger chain “Skinny Louie” is turning EVERY one of its Florida locations into a “Burger Shot” pop-up, in partnership with Rockstar Games, from early November through 31 December 2026 — same smash burger/fries menu, new GTA VI-branded packaging. Skinny Louie itself confirmed the partnership on its own Instagram account (cited via a repost by @iGrandTheftAuto on X, 24-25/10: “Now at Kaseya Center and at every Skinny Louie spot in Florida from early November through December 31”). Cross-checked by multiple independent outlets (GameSpot, Video Games Chronicle, Beebom, games.gg) describing the same scope — no separate official Rockstar/Take-Two statement was found verbatim, beyond the “social media post” that the press sources reference. Ceiling: Solid — the business itself confirms its own involvement (parallel to c-223, Colossal Media), not an official Rockstar statement. A separate FACT from c-280 (the same predicate would be “Burger Shot opened at Kaseya Center” — this one here is “EVERY location of the chain in the state is converting”): same campaign subject, different scale.

Rockstar paid for a sponsor spot on comedian Druski's “Coulda Been Records” (featuring an Ali G sketch) — an unusual move for a company that “almost never buys ads”.

GTA BOOM (25/10) spotted that Rockstar paid for a sponsor read on “Coulda Been Records”, the popular comedic record-label parody series by YouTuber/comedian Druski (millions of views per episode) — specifically on an episode styled as an “OLD HEADS audition special” featuring Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen's character) as a guest. Midway through the episode, this is heard: “This episode of Coulda Been Records auditions is presented by Grand Theft Auto 6 from Rockstar Games. Coming November 19th, pre-order the Ultimate Edition now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X or S”. No official Rockstar statement beyond paying for the spot. The article notes that Rockstar “almost never buys ads” — the move fits within the condensed five-month marketing campaign targeting a mainstream/pop-culture audience (not the usual gaming YouTube crowd), alongside the sports-venue placements (c-212/c-280) and Netflix (c-104). Miami Beach documents reveal a ~$5 million marketing deal: $650,000 turns the W hotel into “Y Hotel”, a “Vice Beach” sign at Lummus Park, Muscle Beach — permits still pending.

GTAVice.net (22/10) published documents it reportedly obtained from the City of Miami Beach detailing the marketing deal that the city council had approved negotiating on 10/9 (c-179, vote 4-3). The W South Beach hotel (2201 Collins Avenue) is being converted into Vice City's “Y Hotel”: 00,000 for facade signage, 50,000 for installing the “Y” logo (replacing the “W” emblem on the spa terrace with a sculpture), 00,000 for beach marketing activities — total 50,000, paid in installments (25,000 at installation, 60,000 on 20/11, 5,000 on 31/12). A separate “Vice Beach” sign (34 feet x 5 inches wide, approximately 2.5-2.6 tons) at Lummus Park (1130 Ocean Drive), and painting gym equipment bright pink at the historic Muscle Beach (873 Ocean Drive). Display period 15/10-31/12/2026, work starts 26/10, installations live from 1/11, removal by 6/1/2027. Gameranx (same day, different document source) reports a broader total of ~ million that includes an additional ~ million under a deal with Boucher Brothers (the beach operator) and ~40,000 for a custom promotional vehicle — AND warns that as of 15/10 no permit had yet been approved, with the risk of partial or total cancellation of individual elements if the permits aren't approved. No official Rockstar/Take-Two/city statement was found verbatim — the documentation is based on public municipal records as read by two independent fan sites. Ceiling: Solid — journalism citing primary public documents, not an official Rockstar statement. Part of the same “Welcome to Vice City” campaign as the Kaseya Center (#c-183), the painted cars (#c-262), and the filming near Bayside Marketplace (#c-279).

The first GTA 6 TV ad (NBC Sports, 20/10, NBA premiere night) cuts the shower scenes from the launch trailer and omits any Xbox mention or logo, closing only with the PlayStation logo.

The 90-second spot aired on NBC Sports on 20/10, during the NBA premiere night — multiple independent outlets (IGN, Kotaku, TheGamer, ComicBook.com, TalkEsport, Mezha.net, GamesRadar via link) describe it consistently: it uses clips from the Launch Trailer (c-256) but removes the three shower-kiss scenes, making room for slightly longer shots (the plane, Jason/Lucia leaning on a car). No Xbox mention or logo anywhere in the spot, even though the game launches simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (c-003/c-170) — it closes exclusively with the PlayStation logo, continuing the pattern of “shot on a standard PS5”/“PS5 Pro Enhanced” (c-116, c-163, c-256). No official statement from Rockstar/Take-Two/Sony explains this particular editing choice — the verdict is an observation by journalists who watched the broadcast, not an official statement, which is why the ceiling is Solid (creator) and not Confirmed.

Miami-Dade County signed ~$1 million with Rockstar: a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the Kaseya Center roof by 2028 — Mayor Levine Cava, without council approval.

Correction 19/9: what was described on 11/9 (GTA BOOM) as a private Basketball Properties/Take-Two deal was in reality an official contract between Miami-Dade County itself and Rockstar — already signed by mayor Daniella Levine Cava, under her authority to sign contracts under $1 million without council approval. It was revealed to commissioners only at the 18/9 night budget meeting (~1:30 am) — many said they knew nothing about it until then. Worth roughly $1 million, with the revenue earmarked for development of a lot behind the arena (a long-promised park). The sign will read “Welcome to Vice City (VI)” and may stay up until 2028. Commissioners Natalie Milian Orbis, Juan Carlos Bermudez and Anthony Rodriguez voiced displeasure at the lack of notice; Bermudez proposed sending the revenue to the sheriff's office, arguing the game “glorifies crime”, but withdrew the proposal after the administration committed to briefing the council before the next meeting. Commissioner Keon Hardemon (whose district includes the Kaseya Center) said he was already informed and is on board. Also mentioned were ongoing negotiations — NOT yet deals — for a “Vice City Airport”-style renaming at Miami's airport, a Metromover car wrap, and signage on manhole covers; these stay outside the Archive until signed. A separate body from c-179 (Miami Beach, beach loungers) and c-180 (downtown Miami banners) — three different government entities with three separate deals. Update 22/9: the sign has now physically gone up — crews built the pink-and-white letters in sections on the ground and a helicopter lifted them up one by one onto the roof of the Kaseya Center overlooking the bay. The finished structure is about 4,700 square feet — readable even from the air, for anyone landing at Miami International Airport. The cost of the installation campaign was confirmed at ~$975,000 (close to the original ~$1 million). Confirmed by CBS Miami, GTA BOOM, ReadDork and Forbes. Update 1/10: the sign is now fully lit at night — pink-and-white neon visible above Biscayne Bay, in plain view of approach flights to Miami International Airport. Local Miami radio/digital press (iHeart) reports it will stay up at least through the Miami Heat's 2026-27 season. Update 2/10: the sign was just the start — the Miami Heat announced, the same day (together with Rockstar), a full “A Night in Vice City” night on 18/11 (see #212). Update 16/10: photos/videos on social media (via @GTASixInfo) showed real-life cars painted in GTA VI style — a Lamborghini Huracán marked “Vice Beach Police”, a Chevrolet Corvette with Leonida plates, a McLaren styled like an in-game supercar, Coquette/Cheetah/Tempesta/Manana — gathered at a Miami gas station with the Vice City blimp visible in the background, part of the same “Welcome to Vice City” campaign. Reported by Yahoo, IGN, GameRant, OpenCritic; no official Rockstar statement yet — stays at the Solid ceiling. Update 20-21/10: a new video (via @GTAVI_Countdown on X) showed the SAME car convoy passing near Bayside Marketplace with police closing the road, a black car with a big camera rig on the hood and a drone overhead — signs of a professional shoot, not just a photo stop. Press headlines (IGN, GamesRadar, Notebookcheck, Archyde, Yahoo) speak explicitly of RUMOR/SPECULATION that a live-action trailer or promo video is in the works — no Rockstar confirmation, no official title for the material. INTERPRETATION stacked on community spotting (the Solid ceiling already maxed out) — logged as an open question, not as fact: it does NOT warrant a new claim without primary confirmation of what's being filmed.

Three GTA 6 beer brands — Pißwasser, Patriot and the new “No Mames Vice City” — passed label approval in the U.S. government's TTB database, from a Miami brewery.

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) — the U.S. government agency that approves alcoholic beverage labels — published three label approvals for GTA 6 brands in its public registry (COLA): Pißwasser (approved 29/9), “No Mames Vice City” — a 6% ABV lager with a design of a dog in sunglasses against a pink-purple sunset and GTA VI branding (approved 9/10), and Patriot (approved 15/10). Manufacturer: Tripping Animals Brewing, a local brewery in Doral, outside Miami — the same city where Rockstar is already running the “Welcome to Vice City” campaign (c-183). The find was first spotted by the site iGrandTheftAuto, searching directly in the public database. Neither Rockstar nor the brewery has made an official announcement — it's unknown when/if they'll go on sale, at what price, and whether they'll be Florida-exclusive or nationwide. Solid ceiling: journalistic verification of a public government record (TTB), not a Rockstar/Take-Two statement.

Miami resident (Graham Simmon), a marketing company employee, reported that he was fired after posting a video of GTA 6 beach furniture (campaign loungers/umbrellas) that went viral.

Graham Simmon posted a TikTok video showing GTA 6-branded beach loungers/umbrellas — part of the “Welcome to Vice City” campaign in Miami Beach (#c-179) — initially with fewer than 1,000 views, until it spread widely. On Kotaku (21/10) he said (translated): “I posted it; it had fewer than 1,000 views, and I was told to take it down... it went kind of viral” and “GTA 6 basically cost me my job.” He says he was new to the job and didn't know that filming footage was prohibited before the official reveal; he doesn't express anger, explicitly admitting it “was his own mistake.” The employer (a marketing company, name undisclosed) did not comment publicly. No Rockstar involvement or statement. Ceiling Solid: journalistic documentation (Kotaku) of a named private citizen's statement, not an official source.

Rockstar tried dozens of alternatives to the weapon wheel — trays, weapon “webs”, and more — before landing back on it; the difficulty of fitting RDR2-style realism into GTA drove designers to quit.

New excerpt from the same Edinburgh report by Jason Schreier (Bloomberg Businessweek, c-243 et seq.): “months, if not years, passed trying a million different things that would replace the weapon wheel” — they tried trays, weapon “webs”, and many other interface forms, in the attempt to combine the limited, realistic weaponry of the Red Dead Redemption 2 type with the nature of GTA — Rockstar feared that the traditional wheel with empty slots would remind the player of weapons they don't have. After all the trials, they ended up back at a weapon wheel (already known as a fact since 27/8, c-038/c-071). This friction, in the 2019-2022 period, led some designers to leave Rockstar out of frustration over the lack of direction — the same report also mentions an executive's statement that “there isn't one person who has this whole thing in their head”, describing how designers had the freedom to add details without central control — the same logic that gave RDR2 its horse testicle physics. Ceiling: Solid — journalistic report with track record (Schreier) relaying executive statements, not an explicit official Rockstar announcement.

The launch trailer surpassed 51 million views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel within 4 days — more than the entire 13-year total of the GTA V trailer (~34 million).

The launch trailer (t3, released 15/10) reached 51 million views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel within four days — surpassing the GTA V trailer, which remains at ~34 million total views after almost 13 years since release. Tech4Gamers explicitly clarifies that the numbers measure ONLY Rockstar's official channel, not reposts/clips elsewhere — a measurable, verifiable figure from the platform itself. Solid ceiling: journalistic measurement of a public metric (views), not an official Rockstar/Take-Two announcement.

Rockstar has been in an employment tribunal in Glasgow since 10 September: 31 workers were fired in 2025, the IWGB union speaks of union-busting — the company speaks of a leak of secrets.

What happened: in October 2025 Rockstar fired 31 employees in Britain. According to the union's testimony, those who were in the office were called into meetings, told they were being fired on the spot, and escorted out of the building; those who were absent found out in phone calls lasting about two minutes and were then locked out of their corporate accounts. The reason the company cited: disclosure of confidential information in a private union Discord channel — gross misconduct. What the union says: the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) claims the firings targeted union activity, that no disciplinary process was followed and no right of appeal was given, and that the company compiled and used lists of names to discriminate against them — so-called blacklisting. What Rockstar says, translated: “Individuals in the UK and Canada were dismissed for gross misconduct following the disclosure of confidential company information, not because of alleged union membership or activity”. Day 1 (10/9), what Rockstar testified: the confidential channel was a private Discord (“Room C”) with over 300 members, which the company says also included “former employees, competitors and a journalist” — there, the company says, game features were discussed openly and derogatory comments about executives appeared. What a former employee said in response: Jack Hoxby (29), a former QA tester, explicitly denied both accusations — he said the channel was a union space, with union members and staff, built for organising, and that no confidential information leaked from it. At the rally outside the court, fired worker Jason Lewis spoke (“for almost a year the truth was buried — now justice feels within reach”), as did IWGB president Alex Marshall, and programmer Rachel Crawford (“today we're fighting fear”). Where things stand: in June 2026 the tribunal rejected Rockstar's request to strike out the blacklisting allegations, so those will be examined too. The full hearing began on Thursday 10 September 2026 and is scheduled for about five weeks, through mid-October (sources differ: 15/10 or 16/10). The number of claimants is given as 31 in some reports and 34 in others (the discrepancy possibly being UK+Canada versus active claimants only) — this hasn't been officially clarified yet. Why the Archive is tracking this: GTA 6 is developed in Edinburgh and launches on 19 November — the trial is running alongside the final two months before launch. Why Solid: this is wire-agency journalism (PA Media, the same material used by AFP) and the public positions of both sides in an open hearing, not a ruling. No verdict has been reached; everything written here are the parties' claims. Day 2 (11/9): fired worker Dayne Oram (IWGB), who had helped create the Discord channel (~300 members), testified. He claimed that a petition on remote working (spring 2023, ~150 signatures, 15-20 union members) became “the basis of a watch list” for people the company considered to be engaged in “activities deemed inappropriate” — about 2 years and 8 months passed between the petition (February 2023) and the firings (October 2025). Rockstar denies this entirely: “Individuals in the UK and Canada were dismissed for gross misconduct following the disclosure of confidential company information, not because of alleged union membership or activity”. The same day it also emerged that Rockstar had an informant (“mole”/whistleblower) inside the same channel for over two and a half years, passing it information about the members — identity undisclosed. The trial is being heard before judge Lucy Wiseman. Separate, related item: the same day Rockstar also described security measures around drones/hackers (#181). Day 3 (14/9): Dayne Oram continued his testimony. Rockstar's lawyer, Thomas Cordrey, accused him of committing a “blatant act of gross misconduct” by posting the full text of emails from HR vice president Rob Spampinato in a Discord channel with about 350 members, including 10 former employees. The company argued that the disclosure violated information-handling policies, that the platform carried serious security risks (vulnerable to phishing), and that it “massively widened” access to confidential material — citing unannounced GTA 6 features that could affect Take-Two's stock, and invoking the 2022 phishing breach that had leaked data and game content. Oram responded that the emails had already been distributed to all staff, that he didn't know there were former employees in the channel, that the channel was private with signed NDAs, and that the discussion arose from workplace-conditions issues. The IWGB noted that no leak ever reached the public. Day 4 (9/10): cross-examination of Rockstar's own witnesses began — first on the stand was Charlie Kinloch, HR director and studio co-head of operations, the same person who received the informant's information (the “mole” from Day 2 now has a name). Kinloch stated he had “little interest” in who was a union member, claiming his priority was defamation and misinformation about Rockstar — but the IWGB's lawyer caught him in a contradiction: he first said he didn't know which employees were IWGB members, then admitted he had no way to know this “for certain”. Kinloch denied that the informant's anonymous messages (“AB”) identified specific union members. Asked why firings didn't follow immediately when derogatory comments appeared in early 2024, he answered that the delay was due to the increased publicity around GTA 6, which heightened the financial risk if damaging information leaked. It also emerged that Kinloch had flagged as a security issue two separate employee intentions: setting up a union account on Twitter/X and an intention to contact journalists Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) and Keza MacDonald (Guardian). Day 5 (14/10): Robert Spampinato, Rockstar's HR vice president, testified — he explicitly denied asking staff to monitor colleagues' union membership — “completely untrue”, as he put it. The claimants' lawyer, Richard O'Keefe (explicitly representing 23 former employees — the 31/34 figure referred to the total firings, not all claimants), alleged that Rockstar executives tried to “stay informed about collective grievances so as to stay ahead of the IWGB” and suggested the company used information to remove union members. Evidence was submitted of 722 Discord messages across 109 threads that formed the basis of the gross-misconduct charges; the anonymous informant “AB” gave Kinloch information about union members' meetings. Separate finding from the same day: the hearing, which had been expected to close by 16/10, was extended at the request of Rockstar's lawyers (they needed more time to cross-examine a specific fired employee) for two extra days on 17 and 18 November — one day before GTA 6's launch (19/11). The trial is being heard before judge Lucy Wiseman. Day 6 (15/10): Spampinato's cross-examination continued — claimants' lawyer Richard O'Keefe put it to him directly that the trigger for the firings was the company's discovery that the IWGB was very close to the membership threshold that would require formal union recognition; Spampinato called this completely untrue and absurd, repeating that the firings were solely about disclosure of confidential information. The same day, former employees held a rally outside the Glasgow Tribunals Centre — almost a year after the firings (October 2025) — with banners, chants, and speeches from former employees recalling the moment they learned of their dismissal. No new date/postponement beyond the already-known extension to 17-18/11. Day 7 (16/10, final scheduled day of testimony): Jennifer Kolbe's (head of licensing) testimony continued — claimants' lawyer Harry Stratton asked her whether employees feared president Sam Houser, alleging that he breaks into shouting fits, loosely translated as screaming rages; Kolbe explicitly denied this, translated: that doesn't happen, Sam doesn't shout at anyone. Rockstar's lawyer, Thomas Cordrey, called the question completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Kolbe also explicitly denied, as absolutely untrue, having known about the union Discord channel for years; she mentioned a summer 2025 incident where she discussed with fired employee Jordan Garland a defamatory LinkedIn post of his against Xbox (she said she feels very bad that he got upset, and denied discussing disciplinary measures outside the office), and repeated that Rockstar had explicitly told staff that GTA VI's development would not involve mandatory crunch as in previous titles (the same point as c-251, now outside Bloomberg and inside the courtroom itself). The same Day 7 testimony presented a message exchange between HR director Julie Stephen and the anonymous informant of the union channel: the informant said they were going through “the whole channel” collecting screenshots and requested one hour off the next day — Stephen replied “no worries” (translated: “don't worry”), a request that was approved in the company's internal leave system (Workday). The IWGB presented this as a reward for monitoring the union channel. Of the 34 fired employees, 23 are pursuing the case for unfair dismissal due to union activity — closing arguments are expected on 17-18 November, as already known.

First Greek retail listing for the DualSense GTA VI Limited white edition: Public and Kotsovolos, pre-order ~€84.90-84.99 — closes the open gap from 10/9.

Check on 19/10 (weekly retail scan, ongoing tracking of the open gap since 10/9, see c-164/c-189): the white DualSense GTA VI edition finally showed up in a Greek listing — Public at €84.90 (+€2.42 shipping) and Kotsovolos at €84.99 (+€2.99 shipping), both as pre-order, confirmed via BestPrice.gr (price comparison engine, both stores marked “official reseller”). Same two retailers as the black edition (c-189, 14/9) — no new chain. SAME EVENT as the Sony announcement (c-164) — a separate claim because this is the retail availability, not the announcement. PS Direct still doesn't serve Greece (c-164) — availability here goes exclusively through these two stores.

The technology for interacting with NPCs (hold L2/LT for “Greet or Challenge”) started out as a prototype as early as 2014, before Red Dead Redemption 2 had even been released.

Journalist Jason Schreier, after his visit to Rockstar's offices in Edinburgh for the Bloomberg Businessweek feature (c-243 et seq.), revealed in a video an additional detail that didn't make it into the written article: VP of animation Mark Tennant had already built a prototype back in 2014 for the mechanic of interacting with passerby NPCs — hold L2/LT to “Greet or Antagonize” someone, a mechanic that would eventually become a signature feature of Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018). Phil Hooker (head of development) was initially hesitant to show it to Rob Nelson (head of development), knowing his tendency to embrace ambitious ideas without factoring in the extra development load — when Nelson finally saw it, he said (translated): “This is amazing — it's going to revolutionize the way our games and our worlds work”. The same interaction logic is now a cornerstone of GTA 6 as well. Ceiling Solid: a journalistic report with a track record (Schreier) relaying statements from executives, not an explicit official Rockstar announcement.

GTA 6 now has a definitive adults-only rating in every major market: Australia R18+, New Zealand R18, South Korea 19+, Japan CERO Z, Germany USK 18, Saudi Arabia/UAE 21+, Brazil ClassInd 18.

Beyond the already recorded ESRB Mature (#c-027, 1/10) and PEGI 18 (3/10), GTA Boom compiled the remaining major markets: Australia R18+ (independently confirmed in the public register of the Australian Classification Board, approved 27/8, with explicit reference to sex scenes and drug use), New Zealand R18, South Korea 19+, Japan CERO Z, Germany USK 18, Saudi Arabia/UAE 21+, Brazil ClassInd 18 — no country refused classification or banned the game. A separate claim from #c-027 (different national authorities, same general topic).

Testimony in the Glasgow trial revealed that a Rockstar HR executive allegedly offered an employee time off in exchange for monitoring the private union Discord for almost two and a half years.

Evidence presented at the Glasgow employment tribunal (#c-171) to Rockstar's head of publishing, Jennifer Kolbe, describes how HR head Julie Stephen allegedly offered an employee extra time off in exchange for monitoring a private union Discord channel. The informant reportedly said they were “reading everything” and taking screenshots, staying inside the union's channel for about two and a half years. Rockstar's HR vice president explicitly denied “compiling information”, claiming no awareness that anyone was gathering such material. This is a disclosure from legal proceedings (employees vs. Rockstar over alleged unfair dismissal for union activity), not an independently confirmed incident — a party's allegation in open court, hence Reliable rather than Confirmed. The tribunal concludes with closing arguments on 17-18/11, with no verdict yet (#c-215).

Dan Houser, the Rockstar co-founder who left in 2020, is deliberately avoiding GTA 6 material — even An Extended Look — so as not to be creatively “contaminated” in his own open-world games.

In a podcast interview with Variety (reported 2/10 via Kotaku), Dan Houser — former head writer at Rockstar, co-founder who left in 2020 and now head of Absurd Ventures (two of his own open-world games in development) — revealed that he hasn't even seen GTA 6's Extended Look: “I will try and avoid it, because I always try to avoid things that will distract or disrupt me creatively” — “I don't need to see what others are doing; I always try to think about new ways of doing it, not sit there comparing what I would have done differently”. The policy isn't just about GTA — Houser says he generally doesn't play many open-world games, because when he plays he can analytically deconstruct the team's strengths and weaknesses in real time, which distracts him. Cross-checked with Kotaku, GamesRadar, Video Games Chronicle. Ceiling Reliable: a journalistic interview with an explicit quote — Houser no longer represents Rockstar.

The official White House account shared an AI image with GTA 6 aesthetics (Trump, a hovering car, Marine One) captioned “we had flying cars before GTA 6” — after the Tesla Roadster flight.

On 15/10 the new Tesla Roadster was shown “flying” in a SpaceX test in Texas — cold-gas thrusters off a ramp, a mid-air flip, 0-60mph in seconds (Elon Musk cited a top capability of ~400mph). The next day (16/10) the White House's official social media account posted a stylized AI image of President Trump walking next to a hovering car with Marine One in the background, in a GTA-style font and aesthetic, with the caption (translated): “We really did get flying cars before GTA 6.” Part of a broader pattern of pop-culture posts from the administration (it has already used Mario/Naruto memes, drawing reactions from Japan). Cross-checked with Yahoo Autos/AOL, KuCoin News, CryptoRank, SoapCentral, The News (Pakistan). No statement or reaction from Rockstar/Take-Two. Ceiling Solid: journalistic documentation from multiple independent sources of a public post by an official government account — not a fact about the game itself, purely cultural/political resonance.

A massive GTA 6 ad (~175m) covers the Mercuriales tower at Porte de Bagnolet, on the edge of Paris — visible from the ring road, the campaign's first stop in Europe.

As of 6/10, a massive advertisement (~175 meters according to multiple sources) covers the facade of one of the Mercuriales towers at Porte de Bagnolet — right on the edge of Paris, visible from the ring road (boulevard périphérique) and the A3 motorway. The event has now been confirmed by multiple French outlets (jeuxvideo.com, Konbini, Xboxygen, actu.fr/Île-de-France) with photos — upgrading from the purely community-sourced signal of 6-7/10 (only via fan site Rockstar Mag) to a confirmed journalistic event. REMAINS open: no statement from Rockstar/Take-Two, no naming of the contractor (unlike Brooklyn, where Colossal Media itself spoke publicly — c-223); jeuxvideo.com explicitly notes that the placement happened without any public agreement with the city, unlike Miami Beach (c-179). Part of the same global outdoor advertising campaign “Welcome to Vice City” (Miami c-179/c-183, Brooklyn c-223) — the first stop outside the US. Reliable/creator: multiple independent French outlets with photos of the actual object; ceiling reliable until explicit statement from Rockstar/contractor/city. Update 16/10: the banner is not an exact copy of the official cover art — a comparison of photos (Kotaku, via Reddit user reports) shows that two weapons were removed from the image: Lucia's pistol (along with the hand holding it) has been completely erased, and the automatic weapon next to her has been removed, leaving the character's hand empty. No official explanation (e.g. French weapon-advertising regulation) has been confirmed yet — the observation is SEEN-explicit (visible in the photo) but the CAUSE remains INTERPRETATION.

A Goodyear blimp (“Wingfoot Three”) flew from Ohio to Florida sporting GTA 6 “Vice City” livery — a new piece of the Miami marketing campaign.

On 12/10 the Goodyear blimp “Wingfoot Three” (registration N3A, owned by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, confirmed via FlightAware) took off from the Wingfoot Lake/Akron hangar in Ohio heading for Florida (Pompano Beach). Members of the Goodyear Blimp Fan Club on Facebook and multiple GTA-dedicated websites (GTA BOOM, RockstarINTEL, GTAVice.net, Gfinity) photographed the aircraft with the word Vice City and GTA VI branding on its side. On 15-16/10 the blimp was photographed flying over Miami — multiple independent sighting reports on Reddit r/GTA6. No official statement from Rockstar or Goodyear about the partnership or the route. Part of the same Welcome to Vice City outdoor marketing campaign in Miami (Kaseya Center c-183, Miami Beach c-179, A Night in Vice City c-212) — the first time the campaign has gained an aerial element. Ceiling Solid: photographic documentation + objective confirmation of ownership/flight via FlightAware, no official statement yet. Addition 16/10 (watch-calendar, not yet an event): the same blimp is expected at the NASCAR championship weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway (6-8/11, FanBuzz) — less than two weeks before the release. No official Rockstar/NASCAR partnership announcement; strategic ad placement at a sporting event, not an official deal.

G2A reports record PlayStation voucher sales and 65 times higher traffic to GTA VI pages as soon as pre-orders opened — the platform's most sought-after product in 45 countries.

In an exclusive interview with Insider Gaming, Katarzyna Jakubiec (G2A's head of sales partnerships) says PlayStation voucher sales reached “record levels” during the period when GTA 6 pre-orders opened — traffic to the game's pages increased 65x at the same time. GTA VI is the platform's most wishlisted product in 45 countries and in the top ten in another 46. G2A states it's preparing for “successive waves of activity” around launch, rather than a single peak on release day — because GTA 6 is a digital-first title (the standard edition is a download code in a box, the Ultimate is exclusively digital). Reliable/creator: on-record statement from an executive in an exclusive interview with a journalistic outlet, with figures from the company itself — not a Rockstar/Take-Two statement, which is why it doesn't rise to Confirmed.

South Korea's Game Content Rating Board (GCRB) gave GTA 6 the “Unsuitable for minors” (18+) rating on 16/10 — the same level as ESRB Mature/PEGI 18/ACB R18+.

The Game Content Rating Board (GCRB) — a private body that has handled ratings for PC/console games unsuitable for minors on behalf of South Korea's Game Management Committee since November 2025 — met on 16/10 (its 25th rating session) and gave GTA 6 the domestic rating “Unsuitable for minors” (South Korea's equivalent of 18+/AO). The reasoning cited in the press: intense violence, criminal activity, and sexual content “at the series' highest level”. Cross-checked with multiple independent South Korean outlets (TechM, EBN, JoongAng Economy News, Inven Global in English) — all describing the same decision from the same session. GTA 6 is releasing on schedule in South Korea on 19/11 on PS5/Xbox Series X|S. Same category of event as the already-Confirmed #c-027 (ESRB/PEGI) — a new claim because it's a different regulatory body/country, not a shift. Ceiling Solid: journalism with a track record (creator) reporting an official decision by a state-recognized rating body, without yet direct access to the GCRB's database from this environment.

Real cars painted in the style of GTA 6 vehicles (including a Vice City police car) are driving around Miami — a new piece of the Welcome to Vice City campaign.

From 15-16/10, photos/videos on social media (first posted by @andrewblakeames, reshared by GTA 6 Info) show real cars painted in GTA 6 vehicle styles driving around Miami: a Lamborghini painted in Vice Beach Police colors (Vice City's fictional police force), a Chevrolet Corvette transformed into a Coquette with a Leonida license plate, and other vehicles in the same theme (Cheetah, Tempesta, Manana — already logged in the Vehicle Registry). The cars were photographed gathered at a Miami gas station with the Goodyear blimp (c-259) visible in the background — a sign of a coordinated, multi-layered campaign. Cross-checked with multiple independent outlets (Yahoo/IGN, Notebookcheck, GameRant, Khel Now, VGTimes, Gadget Review, Push Square) — no official Rockstar/Take-Two statement yet on who's funding/organizing the stunt, but the scale and sync with the rest of Welcome to Vice City (Kaseya Center c-183, Miami Beach c-179, blimp c-259) place it clearly in the same campaign. Ceiling Solid: photographic documentation from multiple independent journalistic sources, no official statement.

GTA 6 is officially eligible for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2026 — its release (19/11) just barely makes the eligibility deadline (20/11, 21:00 Pacific Time).

The Game Awards' public eligibility rule states that a game must be commercially available ON OR BEFORE Friday, 20 November 2026, 21:00 Pacific Time (the same logic deadline as 2025, which was 21/11/2025). GTA 6 releases 19/11 — by the time of the deadline it will have already been out for just over 24 hours, so it officially enters the GOTY 2026 race. No exception was granted to GTA 6 — the rule applied normally. Multiple independent coverage: GamesRadar+, Eurogamer, IGN, Push Square, Kotaku, The Gamer, Vice, Beebom — all describe the same public rule from the organizer (Geoff Keighley/The Game Awards), not a Rockstar statement. Ceiling Solid (journalistic calculation on top of a public, verifiable third-party organizer rule — not an official Rockstar/Take-Two statement).

Rockstar funded free admission for Miami-Dade residents to the Wynwood Walls mural museum (13/10/2026-2028) and unveiled the “The Art of Vice City” collection.

Miami New Times (13/10), with independent confirmation from Complex and ARTnews, reports that Rockstar funded free admission to the Wynwood Walls mural museum for Miami-Dade County residents (with valid ID/digital proof of residency) from 13/10/2026 through 2028. Alongside this, the “The Art of Vice City” collection was unveiled: ten newly commissioned murals (artists including Atomik, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One, Denial, FAILE, Lady Aiko, Queen Andrea, Ron English, Tristan Eaton and others, on view through 1/1/2027) and an apparel/merchandise collection (t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, sketchbook) exclusively at the museum store (libertycity.net, 13/10). Vice City's Stockyard — the game's mural district (#pin-22) — is explicitly based on the real Wynwood. No Rockstar/Take-Two statement was found verbatim in the same text (the Newswire shows no related post, JS-rendered) — the documentation is journalistic, multiple and independent, hence Solid/creator rather than Confirmed. Part of the same Miami marketing campaign as the Williamsburg mural (#c-223), the Kaseya Center signage (#c-183) and the Miami Beach banners (#c-179).

GTA 6 started out as “Project Americas” — a plan for a map with parts of North AND South America; Rockstar narrowed it down to Miami/Vice City when Red Dead Redemption 2 absorbed its resources.

The “The Making of Grand Theft Auto VI” feature by Jason Schreier in Bloomberg Businessweek (14/10) — the first time Rockstar speaks openly about its development struggles — reveals that GTA 6 had the internal codename “Project Americas”: the original ambition was a map that would cover large parts of North and South America. The plan narrowed to Miami and its surroundings (today's Leonida) when the scale of Red Dead Redemption 2 grew and demanded Rockstar's full involvement — delaying GTA 6 by years. First research trip to Miami: 2015. Documentation via GamesRadar+ (accessible outlet), which explicitly references the Bloomberg article itself — not a direct quote with a named executive, hence reliable/creator.

According to the Bloomberg Businessweek feature, GTA 6's online component is expected in 2027 — not alongside the single-player on 19/11; the existing GTA Online still generates ~$500 million/year.

The Bloomberg Businessweek feature reports that GTA 6's online component is “expected to launch in 2027” — Rockstar isn't speaking publicly about it yet, preferring to focus marketing on the single-player before 19/11. The existing GTA Online continues to generate around $500 million annually. This is journalistic reporting (Schreier's reporting, not an explicit on-record Rockstar/Take-Two statement) — reliable/creator, not confirmed. It doesn't fully answer g-online-money (no official announcement yet) but it's the first reliable indication of a timeline.

Rockstar nearly doubled its headcount during GTA 6's development — from 2,441 employees in 2018 (RDR2's release) to 4,711 across 12 offices worldwide as of August 2026.

The feature “The Making of Grand Theft Auto VI” by Jason Schreier (Bloomberg Businessweek, 14/10) reports that Rockstar had 2,441 employees when Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped in 2018 — the number reached 4,711 across 12 offices worldwide as of August 2026, making Rockstar clearly larger than any of its competitors. The expansion includes the dedicated Los Angeles office for pedestrians/NPCs (see #245) and reflects the scale demanded by the dual-protagonist setup, the open-world simulation, and the rest of GTA 6's technical ambition. Documented via KitGuru (accessible outlet) which explicitly references the Bloomberg article itself — reliable/creator like the rest of the findings from the same feature.

GTA 6 has a character sweat system: Jason and Lucia sweat depending on physical exertion — e.g. more when dancing hard at a nightclub.

In the feature “The Making of Grand Theft Auto VI” (Bloomberg Businessweek, 14/10), Jason Schreier relays what Rockstar told him: “we were told there's a [scripted] system in the game that will make Lucia or Jason or whoever else sweat different amounts depending on the effort they're exerting” — example: more sweat when dancing hard at a nightclub than when just walking around Vice City. No specific executive is named, it's an indirect account from the journalist of what was described to him — hence reliable/creator, not confirmed. An example of the micro-simulation that Rockstar cites as part of the delay (see #245, #253).

The Miami Beach city commission approved 4-3 for the city manager to negotiate a marketing agreement with Rockstar — “VI” branding on beach umbrellas/loungers, not on public buildings.

The vote (4-3) authorizes the city manager to negotiate — it is not a final agreement. The “VI”/Vice City branding will go on umbrellas and loungers of the private operator Boucher Brothers, explicitly NOT on lifeguard stands or public buildings. Amount under negotiation $3-4 million, likely destination the renovation of the Flamingo stadium. Campaign window 15/10-31/12/2026. A phrase (“we don't hand out guns and cocaine”) appeared in a headline (Kotaku) but attribution to a specific person was NOT confirmed within the body of any article — omitted as a quote here. Separate thread from the already-existing c-169 (Miami-Dade County, still “nothing approved” as of 3/9) and from c-180 (City of Miami, downtown banners). Cross-check: Kotaku, PC Gamer, GTA BOOM, Yahoo Entertainment/Men's Journal (syndicated), Archyde, Beebom (10-11/9). Rockstar has not stated anything. CORRECTION 13/10: the marketing contract has NOT been signed yet (GTA BOOM, 12/10, journalist Joel Franco citing a Miami Beach official) — the 15/10 start date is “probably not” the real one, it will “slip” until the contract with Amplify Marketing Inc. is signed. Separate from the other campaign pieces (downtown banners, Kaseya Center signage, the Heat game) which remain on schedule.

Arion Kurtaj, the hacker behind the 2022 GTA 6 video leak, has been found fit to stand trial — full trial on 9 November 2026 at Woolwich Crown Court, ten days before launch.

Defense chambers Red Lion Chambers confirmed that Arion Kurtaj will stand trial at Woolwich Crown Court on 9 November 2026 — ten days before the release of GTA 6 (19/11). Kurtaj, a former Lapsus$ member, had leaked ~90 clips from an early GTA 6 build in September 2022 (and earlier, GTA V's source code) — via a hotel TV, a phone, and an Amazon Fire TV Stick, while under police protection at a Travelodge on bail conditions for prior cybercrimes. He was found unfit to stand trial in 2023 due to autism — a jury then found he had committed the acts in 12 offenses and he was ordered to be detained indefinitely in a secure psychiatric hospital; the Court of Appeal later ruled that evidence for 6 older offenses should not have been admitted, without however overturning the findings. BBC cybersecurity journalist Joe Tidy confirmed he had been moved from the hospital to a regular prison pending trial. A DIFFERENT person/event from Pepijn van der Stap/ShinyHunters (c-211, April 2026 hack) — Kurtaj is the original 2022 leaker, unrelated to the CyberLeek wave of August 2026 (c-093). Reliable/creator: multiple independent journalistic coverage (TalkEsport/GTA BOOM/Notebookcheck/GameRant/RockstarIntel/TheGamer) on the same primary announcement from the defense chambers and on BBC reporting — not a Rockstar/Take-Two release.

Second wave of singles from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” — Cardi B's “Don't Chart” and Fuerza Regida's “Suzuki” released on 8/10, after the first six singles on 17/9.

Both artists released their songs for streaming on 8/10, as part of the already Confirmed soundtrack album (c-192, 34 songs, Rockstar+Atlantic Records, releases in full on 19/11). The coverage notes that this is “Atlantic's biggest soundtrack launch to date” following the six simultaneous singles on 17/9 — i.e. a phased rollout, not a one-off event. It was preceded by a Spotify leak on 7/10 (Fuerza Regida on Track 10, Cardi B on Track 19 of a temporary tracklist that was removed), which prompted both artists to hint at it on social media (Fuerza Regida, video with a car license plate reading “VICE CITY”, 7/10) — this earlier stage did NOT become a claim (leak-tier). The same information about the two new songs is also confirmed by Just Jared, That Grape Juice, Hip Hop Vibe, Daily Beirut, Gaga Daily — all describing active streaming availability, not a leak. NO direct Rockstar Newswire/Atlantic Records release was found for this second wave (only for the album's initial opening on 17/9, c-192) — ceiling Solid (creator/music press), not Confirmed, until primary Rockstar/Atlantic text is found. New songs: songs.json song-45 (Don't Chart, Cardi B), song-46 (Suzuki, Fuerza Regida).

For the first time in the series, radio and new on-demand podcasts can also be heard outside the vehicle — with headphones, via the phone.

IGN states explicitly that Rockstar “confirmed that GTA 6 will feature the ability to listen to on-demand podcasts and radio stations on foot by using a pair of headphones and your smartphone” — until now the radio was tied to the vehicle or to specific buildings. The same detail is reported with consistent wording by multiple independent outlets the same day (GamesRadar+, TechRadar, Eurogamer, Push Square, GameSpot) — an indication of a shared Rockstar press release. Not verified directly in a primary Rockstar text (the Newswire article appears as a JS-shell from this environment, with no accessible text body) — capped at Solid until the primary wording is found.

Colossal Media confirmed it is painting a new hand-painted GTA 6 mural (Jason and Lucia) at the corner of Wythe Ave & N 11th St in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — the same corner that had the GTA V mural in 2013.

Community photos from 2-4/10 had already spotted a mural under construction at the corner of Wythe Avenue & North 11th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — the same corner that hosted a GTA V mural in 2013. Colossal Media itself (New York's handmade billboard house) confirmed it on its Instagram: “Twenty-two years ago, we painted our first campaign with our very first client, @rockstargames. Two decades later, we're back at it for GTA 6” (translated: “22 years ago we painted our first campaign with our first client, @rockstargames. Two decades later, we're here again for GTA 6”), referencing its first work for GTA: San Andreas (2004). The mural shows Jason and Lucia and is fully hand-painted (not printed vinyl) — a Colossal Media trademark, signature #alwayshandpaint. Ceiling: Colossal Media is not Rockstar/Take-Two nor a platform holder — it's the contractor that carried out the work, publicly stating its own involvement; safe as Solid (creator-tier, not official_statement) until an explicit Rockstar statement. Part of the wider GTA 6 outdoor advertising campaign (Miami, see c-183; Brooklyn now; a huge ad on the Parisian Périphérique too (Porte de Bagnolet, from 6/10) — now its own claim, c-237).

GameStop (US) raised the price of the used PS5 Pro to $1,399.99 — above the new one ($899.99) — while a similar rise is recorded in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany ahead of GTA 6.

Internal GameStop email (leaked on Reddit, confirmed on gamestop.com itself): “the used consoles will be priced higher than the new one [and] this is intentional”. As of Tuesday 7/10: new PS5 Pro $899.99, certified used $1,399.99 (+55%), special edition used $1,499.99. GameStop did NOT explicitly confirm the reason — VGC links it to “the upcoming demand for GTA 6” as a journalist's speculation, not a company statement (which is why the connection to GTA 6 remains interpretation, while the price itself is a measured fact — reliable ceiling, retailer_listing). In parallel, composite reporting from Switzerland/Austria/Germany (Bluewin, based on Ricardo.ch/Tutti.ch) records: Switzerland 950-1,300 CHF for new/used units in listings, Austria new units from ~1,400€ and used units consistently above 1,000€, Germany a rise of “over 40%” in two weeks — this is third-party market data analysis (analytical reporting, not an official source), no Greek-market entry yet (see weekly retail scan, Monday).

PEGI briefly published a much more detailed GTA 6 content page (violence, drugs, sex) beyond the simple “PEGI 18” rating — then took it down and it's no longer live.

On 2/10, while PEGI was finalizing GTA 6's simple “PEGI 18” rating (#c-027), a much more detailed content description page also briefly appeared on pegi.info. According to screenshots circulated on X before it was removed, the page described violence “bloody with a high degree of realism” (explicit reference to decapitation/dismemberment) — with certain weapons causing greater damage — and the possibility of harming pets/animals, though with less detail than human injury, “frequent and intense” drug use — the player can carry and “snort” cocaine from their stash at any time, including in the company of other characters — and sexual content (nudity, sex scenes, occasional sexual fetish scenes, the ability to pay for private dances at nightclubs). The page was removed shortly after and now shows “not found” — no official Rockstar/PEGI statement, and there is no longer a live URL for anyone to confirm it directly. Multiple independent press coverage agrees on the details (Video Games Chronicle, GamesRadar, EGW.News, RockstarINTEL, gurugamer, gagadget, GameRant — most cite IGN/Eurogamer as the first to see the page). It does not contradict the already Confirmed #c-027 (simple PEGI 18 rating with the core categories Drugs/Sexual Content/Extreme Violence/Nudity) — it adds detail to it. Without live primary confirmation the ceiling is Solid, not Confirmed.

Rockstar president Sam Houser pulled out of a GQ interview for GTA VI that had been in the works for four years — Rob Nelson and Aaron Garbut are now becoming Rockstar's main spokespeople in interviews.

GQ journalist Sam White publicly announced that the scheduled exclusive interview with Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games, about GTA VI was cancelled — despite the negotiations having lasted four years and the interview having been confirmed in April 2026. The company cited “personal reasons”, with no further explanation. Instead, Rob Nelson (co-head, Rockstar North, already a source for c-213) and Aaron Garbut (co-head, Rockstar North, already a source for c-029/c-210) will now be Rockstar's main representatives in interviews about GTA VI — explaining why most recent executive statements (Game Informer, LOVE Magazine) come from these two and not from Houser himself, historically secretive. Multiple independent press coverage (OpenCritic, RockstarINTEL, ixbt.games, nuclearcoffee.org) confirms the same fact, all referencing the same posts by Sam White — there is no explicit statement from Rockstar itself or from GQ, which is why the ceiling is Solid (creator), not Confirmed.

Rockstar chose not to explicitly reproduce real existing theme parks (Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld) or NASA's Space Coast in Leonida — in order to fully control how Florida is presented.

In the full digital issue of Game Informer (29/9), Paul MacPherson, VP of Environment Art at Rockstar, was asked about central Florida (Orlando/Disney World) and the east coast (NASA's space center, Cape Canaveral). His answer, translated: “While we may not have those exact locations, everything we do have is built to give the full Florida experience”. NOTE: Rockstar did not explicitly name Disney World/Universal/SeaWorld/Space Coast in the answer — the link to those specific locations is the journalist's interpretation based on the question asked, which is why it's Solid (not Confirmed) and a journalistic source (creator) rather than a clean official_statement. The full Game Informer article remains behind a paywall.

Some story missions unlock only depending on the player's current income — simply completing missions isn't enough to advance the plot.

The full digital issue of Game Informer (29/9) reports that money “matters more than ever” in GTA 6: certain missions become available only depending on the player's current income — not simply by completing the previous missions. No named executive is cited in the available secondary excerpts (GTA BOOM) — journalistic reporting, which is why it's Solid. It expands/colors the already-known heist mechanic where “money unlocks the story” (see Heists system, u-heists-3) — here it's clarified that the key amount relates to current income, not a fixed number, though it's not clear whether this applies exclusively to heists or to missions more broadly.

Dutch police arrested (28/9) Pepijn van der Stap in Amsterdam as a leading figure of ShinyHunters — the Rockstar hack in April 2026 that exposed GTA Online financial data.

Dutch police (DNP) arrested 24-year-old Pepijn van der Stap in Amsterdam on 28/9, former head of offensive cybersecurity at the company Neo Security — his identity was confirmed by Reuters. The FBI names him as one of the leaders of ShinyHunters since 2025. He is accused of involvement in the Rockstar data breach of April 2026, which revealed confidential financial data (revenue) of GTA Online — a DIFFERENT event from the GTA 6 video leak in August 2026 (CyberLeek, c-093) and from the 2022 leak (Lapsus$). No mention of a connection to these two prior episodes. Reliable/creator because the source is journalism with a track record (Kotaku, via Reuters) reporting police/FBI statements — not a direct Rockstar/Take-Two release.

GTA VI on the cover of Game Informer (issue 382) — 14 pages, 12 new screenshots, exclusive interviews; the full article went live digitally on 29/9.

Game Informer announced on 25/9 that GTA VI is the cover story of issue 382 — a 14-page article with 12 exclusive screenshots, written by Marcus Stewart (senior associate editor, a permanent resident of south Florida), who spoke with several lead designers at Rockstar. The cover shows Jason and Lucia inside a car with guns. The cover-reveal article itself does NOT yet contain direct quotes from Rockstar — it only promises three topics for the full article: an advanced weather system (simulating Florida's less sunny phenomena), “a huge amount of wildlife” (land/air/sea) in Leonida, and how Rockstar researched Miami/Florida to build “the most culturally and aesthetically accurate and vibrant world to date”. The full digital edition with the designers' quotes goes live on 29/9 — TO BE REVIEWED then, possible upgrade to Confirmed if it contains direct statements from Rockstar about specific features of the game. A print copy reaches subscribers/newsstands in the coming weeks. Link to M16 (28/9): the article's two promises concerning systems — weather and wildlife (hunting/fishing/animals on land, in the air, at sea) — are linked to the “Activities” file (u-activities-2: hunting as a full system) and to “Living world” (c-022); the label stays Solid until Rockstar speaks (29/9). UPDATE 29/9: the full digital issue went live on time, with the first direct statements from named Rockstar staff — Aaron Garbut (head of development, c-029/c-090), Owen Shepherd (vice president of lighting/rendering art, c-201), Michael Kane (vice president of dynamic art, c-202) and Rupert Humphries (vice president of narrative, c-204). The cover-reveal's two promises (weather, wildlife) were fully answered with staff name and title — see c-201, c-202. The main article itself (“Welcome to Leonida”) remains behind Game Informer's subscription; the above statements were confirmed via reporting from VGC/Insider Gaming/Dexerto/GamingBolt, all explicitly referencing the same issue.

Six regions were officially named: Vice City (fully rebuilt/bigger), Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga, Ambrosia.

Game Informer's full digital issue (29/9) named Leonida's six regions — the same ones the Archive already uses as the map's classification (pins.json/region): Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga (national park) and Ambrosia. Vice City is described as “fully rebuilt” and “bigger”; Port Gellhorn is home to the poorest neighborhoods — decaying motels, strip malls, worn-down tourist attractions. Why Solid and not Confirmed: the naming/structure of the six regions is reported by Game Informer (journalistic synthesis), without an explicit executive statement listing the six regions as a unified structure. It INDEPENDENTLY confirms the existing region classification the Archive was already using based on community mapping.

New activities: mini golf, kayaking, scuba diving, base jumping, pool/billiards, gyms, zoos, airboating, jet skis, backyard wrestling, races.

Game Informer's full digital issue (29/9) recorded a new list of activities beyond the ones already known: mini golf, kayaking, scuba diving, base jumping, pool/billiards, gyms, zoo visits, airboating, jet skis, street/off-road racing, and “backyard wrestling” where Jason earns money/rewards. No explicit executive statement in the available excerpt — journalistic reporting from Game Informer, hence Solid. Adds to the “Activities” file (already c-026, c-037, c-085, c-086, c-118, c-148, c-197, c-022).

The collector's edition's map poster briefly showed (24-25/9) four islands on Leonida's west coast labeled “Sandbars” and “Crude Islands”; Rockstar removed the names from the image, the outlines remained.

The collector's edition (c-196) includes a double-sided poster: the front a comic-style “Vice City — Leonida” illustration (Macca the Gator, Chunkee the Manatee, a seaplane, a lowrider) and the back a map of the state, “The Goodtime State”. The first product image on the store (24/9) showed on the left (western) part of the map a cluster of four islands with labels — two fully legible, “Sandbars” and “Crude Islands”, and two cut off (“Dra…”, “Beld…”). It was spotted by users on X (@saukko505 with an image comparison) and covered by Dexerto, TheGamer, Notebookcheck (25/9). Within hours Rockstar replaced the image (the store file is now named GTAVI_CE_Map_2160x2160-V02.png, Last-Modified 25/9 21:00 UTC): the names are gone, the outlines of the four islands remain. No statement from Rockstar. WHY Solid and not Confirmed: the names appeared on an official channel but were withdrawn — Rockstar itself is keeping them out of the public record, so it's not an official name until it resurfaces. TheGamer also notes a small island at the top that wasn't on the leaked map (c-094), countered by the fact that the poster is stylized and not a one-to-one match with the game. On the Map: pin-24 (area, no exact spot). The official V02 image of the poster was added to the Album (ce-map-poster).

The Miami City Commission passed the first reading of the Pardo proposal unanimously (5-0) — up to six banners downtown at $202,000-208,000 each. The final (second) reading is pending on 24/9.

Proposal by Commissioner Damian Pardo (District 2) to the Miami City Commission: up to six advertising banners in a defined downtown zone (from NE 5th Street to the Miami River/Biscayne Bay/2nd Ave), with an application fee of approximately $202,000-208,000 per banner (~$1.2 million total; banners over 5,000 sq ft at the upper end), with revenue earmarked for the Underdeck Heritage Trail park. Window 15/10-31/12/2026. The open gap from 16-17/9 (which reading stage, how many votes) was clarified on 18/9 by the city's own official agenda record (Legistar, File #19783): the proposal passed the **first reading unanimously** (5-0, all commissioners: Gabela, Pardo, Escalona, Rosado, King) at the 10/9 session — this is exactly what NBC 6/PCQuest/Sportskeeda described as “approved”, but it is NOT yet the final/binding form of the ordinance. The **second and final reading is scheduled for 24/9/2026** — only then does it acquire legal force (or within 10 days without the mayor's signature). watch-calendar has been updated with the 24/9 date. A separate body from c-179 (Miami Beach, beach loungers) and c-169 (Miami-Dade County) — don't conflate them, quite a few outlets mix them up in their headlines.

Spotify placed billboards with the same GTA 6 artwork (its own logo) in Los Angeles, New York and Miami — one day after artists' social teasers, with no official clarification of the collaboration.

On 16/9 —one day after the simultaneous social teasers from nine artists (#c-190)— physical billboards appeared in Los Angeles, New York and Miami featuring the same GTA 6 artwork the artists had posted, this time with the Spotify logo on them. IGN explicitly describes this as likely groundwork for an announcement around the soundtrack, not a confirmed partnership: “neither Spotify nor Rockstar have explained exactly what the partnership is”. Cross-checked with Beebom, GTA BOOM, Metro.co.uk, GamesRadar+, Consequence of Sound — all describe the same billboards in the same three cities, none has a statement from Spotify or Rockstar themselves on an official channel. Ceiling: Solid (creator/photographic documentation from multiple independent outlets) — will be upgraded if Rockstar/Spotify officially announce the nature of the partnership.

Brian Heder is played by actor Stephen Root (Barry, King of the Hill) — he confirmed it himself publicly.

At the BAFTA TV Tea Party, actor Stephen Root publicly confirmed, translated: “You'll see me in there”. He added: “It's coming out on 19 November, last I heard. But I think that from the first GTA presentation they did, almost a year ago now, they already had my character in there — and there were quite a lot of people who recognized me from King of the Hill and my voice”. And: “I'm very happy to be involved in this. It's something amazing to watch”. Brian Heder is already a known figure in the Archive (ch-brian-heder) — a former dealer in the Leonida Keys, Jason's landlord; until now without a confirmed actor. First actor to publicly confirm his own role in GTA 6 (beyond the already known leaks/SAG-AFTRA documents for Jason/Lucia). Rockstar has not officially announced a cast list. Why Solid and not Confirmed: the statement is from the actor himself, not from Rockstar/Take-Two — it reaches us via AP News video (a wire service, the same footage was republished by Yahoo/Canadian Press, Beebom, businessupturn.com, GTA BOOM). apnews.com returns a 403 from this environment — the transcription was confirmed via multiple independent republications with identical excerpts.

Rockstar didn't give a narrated gameplay trailer because GTA 6 is “extremely difficult” to present that way — that's why it chose the “An Extended Look” format.

Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson spoke to Andy Cortez of Kinda Funny in a preview that was posted weeks ago but resurfaced again on 13/9. According to Cortez, Nelson explained that the studio didn't want a “narrated thing” — partly because it's been done before (GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2), but mainly because GTA 6 is “an extremely difficult game to show”. There are “so many great things” in the massive game that a narrated trailer wouldn't do them all justice. Why Solid and not Confirmed: Nelson's words reach us via a journalist's summary (Cortez → TheGamer), not as a direct quote on an official Rockstar channel — the same pattern as c-143/c-181 (Flow Games). New content for the Archive: the WHY behind the choice of the Extended Look format (27/8) — until now the Archive only recorded WHAT the Extended Look was (c-013), not the design rationale behind its format.

First Greek retail listing for the DualSense GTA VI Limited: Kotsovolos, black edition, pre-order at €84.99.

Check 14/9 (rolling monitoring of the open gap since 10/9, see c-164): the first actual Greek product page was found at Kotsovolos — “Sony DualSense Wireless Controller Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition PS5 Gamepad”, pre-order, €84.99 (same price as Sony's RRP), shipping cost €2.99, option of 6 interest-free installments. Confirmed via BestPrice.gr (price comparison engine) where it appears as the only certified retailer with the product. kotsovolos.gr returns 403 on a direct mechanical fetch from this environment (JS-rendered, same pattern as other Greek e-shops) — the price/availability were confirmed via the aggregator. The white edition does not yet have a Greek listing anywhere. SAME EVENT as the product in c-164 (the Sony announcement) — a separate claim because this is the retail listing, not the announcement.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis publicly commented on GTA 6's portrayal of Miami, telling citizens “be careful with some of that” — today's South Florida doesn't look like the game's portrayal.

At a press conference, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis commented on the controversy over the use of Miami's image in GTA 6, translated: “Not all of it is going to be as accurate as Scarface compared to what we have here in South Florida today — be careful with some of that”. He said Miami has flourished in recent years and is now the envy of most areas of the US, citing low crime — dismissing the old image from the '70s-'80s. A separate subject (political commentary on image, not municipal policy) from c-169 (Miami-Dade sheriff/commissioner reactions on 3/9) and c-179 (Miami Beach vote 4-3 on 10/9) — part of the same broader conversation about how real Florida is reacting to the idea of a real Vice City. Rockstar has not commented.

At the same trial Rockstar described security measures around GTA 6: privacy film on office windows after drones, and blackmail attempts by hackers in recent weeks.

According to testimony from the same trial (Glasgow Employment Tribunal, #171), Rockstar described facts that, in its own account, justify its strictness around confidentiality: drones were used to "spy on" developers through office windows, leading the company to install protective film (privacy film) on some windows; groups of hackers attempted blackmail with the threat of leaks "in the last few weeks"; more than 300 people, including former "disgruntled" employees, had access to a channel with development information. These are claims from a party to open litigation, not independently confirmed incidents — hence Solid, not Confirmed. No verdict has been reached.

A real nudist resort in Florida received fake reviews referencing a GTA 6 leak, following a blackmail attempt to have them removed — the owner refused to pay.

Fans identified Cypress Cove Nudist Resort (Kissimmee, Florida) as the likely real-world model for a resort appearing in leaked GTA 6 material, and began flooding its Google page with fake reviews that named names/details from the leak. The resort stated that a request followed to pay money to have the reviews removed/changed — it labeled the posts “SPAM/EXTORTION REVIEW” and “a coordinated series of fabricated posts”, and responded publicly: “We will not pay, nor will we negotiate”. The Archive does not link to or describe the content of the leak itself (leak policy: text only, no source/media) — only the real fact of the harassment of an existing business is recorded, as a warning.

The first GTA 6 trailer was officially recorded in Guinness World Records (Gamer's Edition 2027) as the most-viewed video game trailer within 24 hours, with 475 million views.

The Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2027 officially records the first GTA 6 trailer (December 2023) as the video game trailer with the most views in 24 hours worldwide — 475 million views. Guinness editor Alice Bell: “Grand Theft Auto 6 started breaking records before it even released”. The organization states it is closely watching the game for more records around the launch. Third-party source (independent record-keeping organization) — not a Rockstar statement.

The two official stores show the unlock time: in Greece GTA 6 opens 19 November 00:00 — midnight local time, as in every other market checked.

What was checked, and how: the product page data itself was read directly — not press reports. The PlayStation Store lists a release time for the Greek market of “2026-11-18T22:00:00Z”, which is exactly 19 November 00:00 Greek time (in November the country is on UTC+2). The Microsoft Store gives the same figure, in the same format, on its Greek storefront for the Xbox Series X|S version: “2026-11-18T22:00:00.0000000Z”. Two independent stores, same time. The pattern was confirmed elsewhere too: United Kingdom 19/11 00:00Z, Germany 18/11 23:00Z (midnight CET), USA 19/11 05:00Z (midnight Eastern time), Mexico 19/11 06:00Z. Everywhere it's midnight local time — meaning the game doesn't unlock globally at the same moment, but rolls with the time zones, with New Zealand first and Mexico last, roughly 19 hours later. Why Solid and not Confirmed: Rockstar has NOT announced an unlock time anywhere. What we have is the scheduled availability of two stores — retailer evidence (retailer_listing), capped at Solid. It could change without warning. What this means in practice for Greece: if you have a digital pre-order and have done the preload (from 12/11, c-019), the game unlocks at midnight between Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November. The time is determined by the COUNTRY of your account, not by where you physically are. Until today the Archive held midnight as a conservative assumption in data/launch.json; as of today, the assumption has evidence. Update 11/9: an independent collection by fan-tracker GTAVice.net across 63 markets (via GameSpot/Vice, 10/9) confirms the same pattern on a much wider scale — New Zealand first, the USA among the last, with secondary reports giving inconsistent hour-difference figures (16–19 hours, likely a rounding error). Rockstar itself still hasn't confirmed anything.

Rob Nelson explains why Rockstar is careful about what it satirizes: an idea could be lost, changed, or outdated by the end of development.

In the exclusive preview/interview by French magazine TroisCouleurs with Rockstar North (27/8), Rob Nelson explains why the team thinks carefully about what topics it satirizes, translated: “By the time we've written it, cast it, shot it, and implemented it, whatever it is — it could have been lost, it could have changed, it could be outdated”. What it adds: GTA 6's development has already lasted 11 years — the statement explains why satire in such a long-running project has to carefully pick what will hold up until release. Why Solid: journalistic coverage with an explicit, on-record quote from a named Rockstar North executive, with no official Rockstar channel behind it.

Rob Nelson describes how a trailer is born: the Tom Petty song in the first one was a “mission statement” before the game was fully shaped.

Second on-record quote from the same exclusive preview/interview by TroisCouleurs with Rockstar North (27/8, see c-174). Rob Nelson describes the creative process behind the first trailer, translated: “The first thing we always do... is often a song we rally around... the Tom Petty song was a real mission statement. You don't have the game fully shaped, you have an idea of where it's going, but you really have to push hard to put it together”. Freshness note: the statement was reposted by GameSpot/GamesRadar+ on 9/9, but the original publication is TroisCouleurs from 27/8 — the `date` here is the original, not the repost. Why Solid: same ceiling as c-174 — journalistic coverage with an on-record quote from an executive, with no official Rockstar channel behind it.

A health app on the phone shows whether Jason and Lucia are rested — and sleep affects the recovery of certain attributes.

The words of Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North and head of development: “It will tell you whether you are rested or not. That will have some effect on the recovery of certain attributes. We're tracking a lot of things — all that good stuff”. What it adds to the Archive: c-128 already said that fatigue is etched into the faces — that is, it shows. Here sleep acquires a mechanical consequence as well: it affects how fast stats recover. And a new app appears on the phone, next to WAINK, Ryde Me and Snapmatic — a health app that reads your condition. What was NOT said: exactly which attributes recover faster, how much sleep it takes for someone to count as rested, and what sleeplessness costs. Why Solid: the statement comes from a closed showing at Rockstar North in July 2026 and reaches us via the YouTuber TGG and the coverage by GamesRadar+ — as do c-117 (fuel) and c-118 (fridge) from the same showing. It will move up to Confirmed when Rockstar documents it on a channel of its own.

Whatever you build on the body, you lose it if you let it go: muscle leaves when you stop maintaining it — and to put on weight you have to eat really a lot.

From the same screening as c-172. Two things were said, translated: if you eat a lot, Jason and Lucia round out — “but you have to eat quite a lot” for it to show; and if you have built bulk, “you lose it the moment you stop maintaining it”. What it adds: c-076 said that food and exercise change the body, and c-149 that training raises the base health and stamina values. Neither of the two said that the change goes BOTH WAYS. Here it is: the system is not a one-way street upward — inactivity takes you back, like in San Andreas. And weight has a threshold: you don't get fat off one meal. Why Solid: testimony from a closed screening via TGG and GamesRadar+, with no Rockstar channel of its own behind it.

Rockstar replaced “An Extended Look” on its Chinese channel (Bilibili) with a censored version: blurred cigarettes, blood, dancing and underwear.

What happened: Rockstar first uploaded to its official channel on Bilibili — the big Chinese video platform — the normal, uncensored version of “An Extended Look”. It stayed there until 31 August, when it was replaced by a version with blurs over lit cigarettes, bloodied bodies, revealing clothes and provocative dancing. The second half, with the nightlife, is the most affected: in one shot Jason walks through a crowd blurred in its entirety. Why Solid and not Confirmed: the video itself on Bilibili was not accessible for verification from here, and Rockstar has not commented on the reason. Cross-check: Kotaku (4/9), TheGamer (3/9), GamingBible (5/9), IGN. A detail that shows this isn't a blanket policy: according to Kotaku, on Rockstar's own site inside China the video plays uncensored, with Chinese subtitles — the censorship applies only to the Bilibili copy. The video the Archive shows is the international, uncensored version.

Rob Nelson (Rockstar North) stated that the game runs at 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X; more performance options may be added later, with no commitment for launch.

The Extended Look footage was captured on PS5 and runs at 30fps. Rob Nelson — co-head of Rockstar North and head of development — told the Portuguese Flow Games that more options may be added in the future, but for now the game is at 30fps. GamesRadar (28/8) writes that this is how it will ship in November on PS5 and Xbox Series X and that there probably will not be a separate performance mode at launch; nothing was clarified about the PS5 Pro. Why it stays Solid and not Confirmed: the wording reaches us as a journalist's summary, not as a direct quote from Nelson — the same source chain (Nelson → Flow Games) that the Archive examined on 4/9 for c-143 and kept at Solid. There is no written feature announcement from Rockstar. Digital Foundry's measurement (c-091) arrives at the same number by the road of analysis.

The court approved a second, targeted Take-Two subpoena to Discord — and this time sealed; the CyberLeek investigation expanded to X and YouTube as well.

What changed since the subpoenas of 20/8 (c-096): the new application was filed on 28/8 and is far narrower — Take-Two states that it “identified an additional Discord user and obtained additional identifying information for a user who had already been identified”. Judge Andrew L. Carter found that “good cause exists” and ordered the subpoena to issue “as requested by the applicant”, also granting the request that the content remain sealed — unlike the previous, public filings. A footnote in the case file: “Take-Two's investigation into the breach at issue is developing rapidly and is ongoing”. The same report records that corresponding subpoenas were filed with X and YouTube as well — channels that were not in the first wave. No arrest has been confirmed (see also c-098, the fake “arrested in Nuremberg”).

Full first-person mode won't be there at launch — Rockstar focused on third-person animations; the first-person view stays on aiming certain weapons.

Rob Nelson said it to Brazilian creator Davy Jones, who spent over two hours at Rockstar North watching live gameplay — original publication flowgames.gg, picked up by Vice/Beebom/TweakTown/Insider Gaming (all 28/8). The reasoning: the team concentrated its work on third-person animations, which are the core of Jason & Lucia's presence. The first-person view was NOT removed entirely: it remains in the aiming of certain weapons. Historical parallel: GTA V also shipped without first-person and got it a year later, with the PS4/Xbox One editions. WHY Solid and not Confirmed: the statement reaches us through a creator preview, with no written feature announcement from Rockstar — same treatment as c-117 and c-119. The upgrade is for the Validator to decide (pending 3/9).

“An Extended Look” became the week's No.1 on Netflix worldwide: 31.1 million views in four days and first place in 87 of 93 countries.

Netflix itself published the numbers in its weekly Top 10 (week of 24–30/8): 31.1 million views, first place on the English-language films list, No1 in 87 of the 93 countries it tracks. Second came the film “The Whisper Man” with 23.2 million — a gap of almost 8 million. WATCH the unit of measurement: Netflix defines a “view” as total hours viewed divided by runtime, so it does NOT compare directly with YouTube views. A measured figure of the platform, not of Rockstar — that's why Solid and not Confirmed. It complements c-101, which logged third-party estimates for traffic.

Refueling is a full mechanic: ~10 seconds at the pump with its own animations, the electrics charge — and you fill up strategically before a getaway.

YouTuber TGG, who watched Rob Nelson play for 3 hours at Rockstar North, describes refueling as a full mechanic with custom animations (engine off, exit, pump, ~10" countdown). Nelson admits it will divide people — but the strategic dimension (you fill up before the heist for the getaway) keeps it. Creator testimony: stays Solid until official documentation. In the Extended Look it did NOT show up.

Rockstar cut the mandatory restocking of Jason/Lucia's fridge — it went “a little too far”; grocery shopping stays optional.

From the same TGG preview: there was a mandatory fridge restocking system, cut for the balance of “realism vs ease of play”. An indication of how deep the life-sim layer went — and where they drew the line.

Sprint changes: a click of the analog stick instead of holding/tapping a button — the end of the series' decades of mashing.

Italian creator MikeShowSha (hands-off preview) described it; GameSpot carried it on 1/9. Yesterday the source returned 403 and the finding stayed pending — today the Validator verified the article live and complete.

In Greek stores the PS5 Standard now runs from €76.50 to €79.99 across 8 stores — the spread widened to €3.49, from €0.49 in the August check.

Monthly Greek retail scan (1/9), from the page's structured data: BUYBEST.GR €76.50 · Astrongameclub €79.50 · Efantasy.gr €79.79 · You €79.79 · Public €79.89 · Electrocrete €79.90 · Game Explorers €79.99 · Kotsovolos €79.99. In the 8/8 check the range was €79.50–€79.99 (a €0.49 difference) with Buzzer on the list; Buzzer no longer appears and Kotsovolos went €79.90→€79.99. Two clarifications that matter before anyone buys: all the listings are “code in a box” (a code, not a disc), and the lowest price is declared “available” while the game has not released — the comparison here records the shelf, it does not recommend a store. It does not touch c-005: Rockstar's suggested price remains €79.99/€99.99 — a different fact.

The “CyberLeek” serial: 18–26/8, waves of clips from an old build — the leaker was playing the build themselves and posting on request.

Basis: Forbes/Push Square reporting 18–26/8 — “CyberLeek” showed that they're playing the build themselves (wrote “Leek” on a wall with bullets). The build is old; whatever it shows may have changed or been cut. Here we record ONLY the news — never the material.

Take-Two is chasing CyberLeek through the courts: federal DMCA subpoenas (SDNY, 20/8) to Microsoft/GitHub and Discord — with a deadline to hand over the evidence on 4/9.

Basis: Variety/Kotaku/Tom's Hardware reporting on the filings — Take-Two is demanding device identifiers, IPs and account details from three Discord servers. The court approved the subpoenas. No arrest to date.

gamescom ONL (25/8) went by without GTA 6 — Rockstar kept the reveal for its own premiere on Netflix, two days later, inside the show's week.

Basis: reporting on the date clash — the Extended Look (27/8) landed inside gamescom (26–30/8) and the show's brand director responded publicly about the “competition”. Rockstar doesn't share a stage with anyone.

The premiere brought platforms to their knees: Twitch went down with 17,000+ outage reports while 1.8 million were watching on Netflix — which stumbled at the start too.

Basis: reporting from that night — Downdetector with 17,000+ reports for Twitch at the hour of the premiere, Netflix users with error NSEZ-503 in the first minutes. Both came back within the night.

Within 24 hours of the Extended Look, the PS5 Pro sold out almost everywhere in the US — resellers were asking up to ~$1,300 (retail: $899).

Basis: reporting 28-29/8 — Target, Amazon, Best Buy out of stock, third-party sellers at $1,299+. If you're aiming for a PS5 Pro for launch, don't wait for November — and never pay a reseller's price.

New generation of the RAGE engine, with real-time global illumination.

Shift 27/8: The EL is 26' of in-game material from a base PS5 with visible real-time GI/RT — the new RAGE generation is now documented by official footage (interpretively), with Digital Foundry's analysis documenting it technically. Pre-orders are breaking every record: sold out in hours on Amazon US, “the strongest campaign ever recorded”.

Basis: retail reports (with fast restock — digital stores have no stock issue) + Newzoo measurements (~$260 million in the first week across 6 markets). On 7/8 Take-Two called them “unprecedented” but gave no numbers — any number going around is a third-party estimate.

Third-party estimates and analysis — useful, but they are NOT facts and they never go on the truth scale.

Circana market research: 29% of American gamers (nearly 1 in 3) say they intend to buy GTA 6 — the highest purchase-intent percentage Circana has ever recorded.

Market analysis firm Circana announced that 29% of American console/PC gamers say they intend to buy GTA 6 — a figure analyst Mat Piscatella describes as the highest Circana has ever measured for any game, attributing it to the 13-year gap since GTA 5. He expects demand to extend beyond software sales to consoles, accessories and gaming subscriptions around the release. A separate statistic from the already recorded +22% in PS5 sales (c-282, Circana/Bloomberg) — here purchase intent is measured, not actual hardware sales. Market analysis/estimate — NEVER as fact.

HR software company BambooHR reports that leave requests for 19 November (GTA 6's release day) are 9%-17% above the average of a typical third Thursday of November.

HR management software company BambooHR shared data from its platform with Money.com: paid leave requests for 19 November 2026 are 9%-17% above the historical average of a typical third Thursday of November — GTA 6's release day. BambooHR itself explicitly notes that it cannot attribute the increase with certainty solely to the game: a company representative stated that the trend, while striking, may also reflect a broader cultural shift toward more freely using leave. A separate finding from José García Montalvo's academic estimate (<a href=/claims/#c-276>#276</a>, Pompeu Fabra) — here it's measured data from an HR platform, not an economist's calculation, but the same ceiling The Read: third-party correlation, not an official measurement or a Rockstar/Take-Two statement.

Circana data (via Bloomberg) shows a 22% increase in US PS5 sales in September — the same Circana analyst later disputed that the reason is GTA 6, not Marvel's Wolverine.

Bloomberg (22/10), citing data from retail research firm Circana, reports that US PS5 unit sales rose 22% in September, with hardware revenue up 43% — Sony became the console maker with the most revenue for the month. The rise is attributed to the previous year's price increases AND demand for the PS5 Pro (already sold out/with limited stock, see c-112/c-225) ahead of GTA 6 — the game launches simultaneously on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (c-003), so the link to sales is analyst/press analysis, not a Sony/Rockstar statement. A different metric from c-108 (Sensor Tower estimates for game pre-orders/revenue) — here we're talking about CONSOLE sales, sourced from retail data (Circana), not an app-store estimate. Ceiling: The Read — it's an analyst correlation, not confirmed causation. CORRECTION 25/10: the same Circana analyst, Mat Piscatella, publicly disputed (Bluesky, via GTA BOOM) Bloomberg's attribution: “my data shows that Marvel's Wolverine was the main reason for the PS5 increase in September, with NBA 2K27 AND GTA VI playing a secondary role”. Argument: Xbox Series sales FELL 27% the same month — if GTA 6 (which also releases on Xbox) were the reason for the PS5 rise, a similar rise or at least stability would be expected on Xbox too. Circana itself, in other words, internally disagrees with the Bloomberg interpretation of its own data. Reinforces the existing Ceiling: The Read — causation remains disputed EVEN among analysts at the same firm.

Sensor Tower (estimate, not official): ~6.45 million pre-orders and ~$630 million revenue through 20/10 — 74% on PS5. Take-Two hasn't given its own numbers.

Basis: Sensor Tower analysis of digital stores; the estimate kept climbing from ~4.77 million (31/8) to ~6.08 million (14/10) and ~6.45 million (20/10) — split ~4.8 million PS5 ($468 million) / ~1.66 million Xbox ($162 million), ~$630 million total revenue. Insider Gaming notes that preload starts 12/11 — one week before release — so the number is expected to climb further. On the 7/8 call, Take-Two explicitly refused to give numbers — every figure remains a third-party estimate, not an official data point.

Economist (Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona) estimates that GTA 6's release will cost the US economy ~$1bn in lost productivity, with ~1.5 million workers taking the day off.

José García Montalvo, a professor of Economics at Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, based the estimate on ~1.5 million workers who say they will take the day off on release day (11/19) and average annual output of ~$70,000 per US worker — producing a ~2% short-term productivity dip, about $1 billion. Montalvo himself explicitly clarified to the outlet that cites him that this is “an academic projection, not an official forecast”. By the estimate, the tech sector will take the biggest single-day hit, with men 18-30 making up most of the absentees. The estimate was widely republished (TweakTown, NewsNation, Fox News/Outkick, Benzinga, iHeart) — original publication source the Spanish ElOutput. Ceiling Analysis/Estimate: third-party academic projection, not a measurement or statement from Rockstar/Take-Two.

Xbox emailed inactive users suggesting a console trade-in at Best Buy (up to $375) — press analysis links it to the expected demand due to GTA 6.

The Xbox email to owners who haven't played in a while read (translated): “Haven't played on your console in a while? If you've switched to Xbox on PC or another way to play Xbox, it might be time to trade it in at Best Buy for up to $375.” HotHardware (21/10) notes that the Xbox Series X remains readily available at Best Buy ($749.99-$799.99), while the PS5/PS5 Pro is facing stock shortages — and speculates that the timing exploits GTA 6 to redistribute inactive consoles to active players before the 19/11 release. No official Xbox/Microsoft statement explicitly links the trade-in program to GTA 6 — only the email itself (real, confirmed) and the journalist's interpretation. Ceiling The Read: the link to GTA 6 is journalistic interpretation, not a Microsoft statement. Process note: this same signal (IGN Pakistan, 20/10) had gone unnoticed in the 21/10 09:00 cycle — it was caught by the independent “what we missed” reviewer and is being graded now, with additional independent coverage (HotHardware) confirming the same signal.

Activision CMO Tyler Bahl says GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are “the two biggest games of the year” — not Zelda.

In an interview with The Game Business, Activision marketing VP Tyler Bahl said (translated): “No offense to Zelda, but [GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4] are the two biggest games of the year.” His logic isn't competitive but complementary: GTA 6's 19/11 release will bring “more people back to consoles,” dusting off PS5/Xbox units they'd set aside — meaning “more eyeballs” overall, including for its own Modern Warfare 4, which releases in the same window. Cross-checked with IGN, GamingBolt, TheGamer, Tech4Gamers, Beebom, VGChartz, Gamerant. Ceiling The Read: a statement from a RIVAL company's executive (Activision, not Rockstar/Take-Two) about the market — a business forecast, not a fact about the game itself.

After the Extended Look, analysts raised the bar: BTIG at $313, estimates of 29–37 million in sales; Piper Sandler subsequently raised it to ~48 million launch units, based on Reddit traffic.

Basis: analyst notes after 27/8 — BTIG raised its price target for TTWO to $313, with the stock at ~$238 (+2.3% on 28/8). Stock-market forecasts — not sales data, not official numbers. Update 11/9: Piper Sandler (analyst James Callahan) raised its estimate to ~48 million launch units, using r/GTA6 traffic as a proxy (from ~700K weekly visitors in August to ~2.7M today, +4x) multiplied by historical factors from previous major launches. It remains a stock-analyst forecast, not sales data.

The Read — Ampere: “An Extended Look” brought Netflix over 100,000 new US sign-ups within its six-hour exclusivity window — Netflix's third-highest sign-up wave for 2026.

Estimate from market analysis firm Ampere: Netflix's six-hour exclusivity window for “An Extended Look” (27/8) drove over 100,000 new US subscriber sign-ups — the third-largest sign-up wave for a Netflix title in 2026, behind only “Stranger Things S5 Vol. 3” (115,000) and an MMA fight (109,000). Over 5% of US subscribers who hadn't watched anything in the previous 30 days came back specifically for this — the highest reactivation rate of the period. A different scale from the already-logged c-122 (31.1 million views, official Netflix Top 10): that measures views, this estimates new subscriptions — a third-party estimate, not an official figure from Netflix or Take-Two. Why The Read: a market analysis firm (Ampere), not a statement from Netflix/Rockstar itself.

Digital Foundry analysis: ~1440p/30fps steady on base PS5, with RT global illumination and RT reflections; 60fps “extremely unlikely”.

DF called it “perhaps the most impressive real-time rendering we've seen”: 1440p with no DRS, steady 30fps, “world-class” RTGI. An expert estimate, not a Rockstar measurement. A written announcement of performance targets still does not exist; since 28/8, though, DF's estimate coincides with what the head of development at Rockstar North said about 30fps on consoles (c-163) — two independent roads to the same number.

Sensor Tower: ~90% of pre-orders are the $100 Ultimate — when the norm for premium editions is 10–20%. An estimate, consistent with Zelnick's statement that Ultimate is outselling Standard.

Basis: Sensor Tower estimate — nearly 9 in 10 pre-orders go to the pricier edition, a share unprecedented for the market. It fits Zelnick's official “Ultimate is outselling Standard” (c-107), but the number remains an estimate.

Netflix numbers (third-party estimates): the Extended Look reached No.1 in the US films top-10, with +125% visits on Netflix web and +50% on mobile.

Basis: third-party measurements and Netflix's public top-10, as recorded by Forbes (28/8). Netflix and Rockstar have given no official viewership numbers — that's why it stays The Read, not fact.

Streams Charts: ~3.97 million peak concurrent viewers on reactions, 9,038 co-streamers — the biggest gaming stream event of 2026. Third-party estimate, not an official number.

Basis: Streams Charts measurement — 3,970,738 peak on reaction streams, above Summer Game Fest 2026 (~3.81 million), with 5.2 million hours watched. It counts the co-streams, not Netflix itself — third-party estimate.

The leaks briefly shook Take-Two's stock — BofA kept its Buy: the damage to the launch was judged manageable.

Basis: BofA note in the middle of the leak wave (~18-20/8) — Buy reaffirmed despite the concerns. The market priced the leak as noise; the Extended Look afterwards confirmed it (see c-110). Market analysis, not a fact about the game.

Rumor 15

Whatever's going around without enough backing. Leaked material: a text description only — never images, video or links.

Rumor (unconfirmed): GTA 6 will have 201 main missions across nine chapters, with two prologues and an epilogue — with no official confirmation whatsoever.

An anonymous X account (@remus_r) posted a figure of 201 main missions for GTA 6, across nine chapters with two prologues, an epilogue, and multiple flashbacks — with no source documentation whatsoever. Forbes (Brian Mazique) and Notebookcheck republished the figure explicitly as an unconfirmed rumor, noting that Rockstar has never said how many missions the game has. Logged as Rumor due to the wide press coverage — no upgrade without an official source.

Leak (BlackBate/NateTheHate) says the GTA 6 review embargo lifts on 18/11, one day before release — some outlets might be held back until 19/11.

According to leak tracker BlackBate, the GTA 6 review embargo lifts on 18/11 — Metacritic scores are expected around 12:01-13:01 CET (6-7 a.m. EST), one day before launch (19/11). Some sites/YouTube channels are reportedly held until 00:01 CET/00:01 EST on 19/11 (same time as launch). A separate leak (NateTheHate) says Rockstar will distribute review copies to outlets either the week of 26/10 or early November. No official Rockstar/Take-Two announcement on the embargo yet — cross-checked across multiple independent outlets (Notebookcheck, ScreenRant, EGamers, Gizbot, Mezha.net), all of which explicitly note it remains unofficial. Rumor ceiling: the source is a data-leaker, not Rockstar. UPDATE 27-28/10: NateTheHate's prediction was partially confirmed — content creator ManaByte (X) and journalist Tom Henderson report that review copies have started going out to outlets, with a unique watermark (e.g. “REVIEWER_NAME_001”) visible on screen to trace the source in case of a footage leak — Henderson calls it “standard practice” for Rockstar. Again no official Rockstar/Take-Two statement — the source is a content creator/journalist, not the company itself, which is why the Rumor ceiling does NOT change, despite wide pickup (Beebom, Notebookcheck, TwistedVoxel, RockstarINTEL).

Fan photos show fictional GTA 6 brands (Dix, Juice Loose, Macca & Friends) as real-world ads in Miami, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles — no official confirmation of Rockstar ownership.

Photos uploaded by user u/Snak3D0ct0r to r/GTA6 (24/10) show four fictional in-game GTA brands as real ads in downtown Miami: “Dix” (lipstick brand, multi-storey building wrap), “Juice Loose” (drink, with the slogan “Keeping America on the move!”), “Macca & Friends” (cartoon series) and a “Vice City” sign outside the Kaseya Center. The campaign has “spread since mid-October” to other American cities too (New York/Times Square, Chicago, Los Angeles) — already flagged as an unconfirmed thread on the watch-calendar since 26/10. New detail: the “Macca & Friends” poster hides the game's release date as an easter egg — “Coming November 19 on Weazel” (Weazel is a fictional network/brand within the GTA universe). NO official Rockstar/advertising-company channel (of the Colossal Media type, c-223) has confirmed ownership — only fan photos and secondary blogs. Rumor ceiling: community-tier, no official confirmation.

A PlayStation Store datamining account (“PlaystationSize”) reports a 210GB download size for GTA 6 on PS5 — Rockstar hasn't officially confirmed it.

The X/Twitter account “PlaystationSize”, known for game size data pulled from the PSN backend before official publication on the PS Store, reported (27/10) that GTA 6 will take up 210GB on PS5 — Insider Gaming says it can confirm this independently. Dozens of outlets reran the number with headlines claiming it was “officially revealed”, but the GTA 6 page on the PlayStation Store itself does NOT yet show a download size (checked directly, 27/10) — no official Rockstar/Sony confirmation. The number is more specific than the previous “over 200GB” reported by leaker CyberLeek at the close of the extortion wave (c-239, 14/10) — same order of magnitude, different source/mechanism (dataminer instead of an anonymous leaker via memecoin). Unknown whether the same size applies to Xbox Series X|S. The seven-day preload starting 12/11 is already officially confirmed (c-019) — only the exact size remains Rumor.

Unconfirmed rumor (leaker “Has It Leaked”, 20/10): Rockstar first offered the GTA 6 soundtrack to Daft Punk with an unlimited budget, but they refused — Justice were chosen instead.

On 20/10, the “Has It Leaked” account on X posted unconfirmed information that Rockstar had first approached Daft Punk for the GTA 6 soundtrack, pitching it as a “final comeback” with what the account described as an “unlimited” budget — the duo refused, and Rockstar ended up with Justice, who have already been officially confirmed as the composers of the score (c-257). The rumor was picked up by several music/gaming sites (Mixmag, NME, MusicRadar, Dexerto, Happy Mag, shattered.io, TechWiser) but NONE of Rockstar, Daft Punk, or Justice has confirmed any part of it — NME notes this explicitly. French music journalist Romain Figueira reported that, if the refusal is true, it wasn't a financial but a personal choice: the duo didn't feel the need to revive the Daft Punk name after their breakup. Ceiling: Rumor — single source is one anonymous leak account, no primary confirmation. Does NOT change c-257 (Confirmed: Justice ARE the final composers) — it just adds unconfirmed backstory behind that choice.

A film crew with a camera and drone shot on a closed road near Miami's Bayside Marketplace, with cars styled as GTA 6 vehicles — sparking rumors of a live-action trailer, with no official confirmation.

On 20-21/10, photos/videos on social media (relayed by TweakTown, Beebom, IGN, IGN Nordic, Notebookcheck) show a parade of cars with Vice City plates on a closed road near Bayside Marketplace in Miami: a black car with a camera rig mounted leads the way, a drone films from above, and among the vehicles two stand out — one resembling the game's Progen Emerus (McLaren Senna-style) and a vintage model resembling the Albany Manana (Cadillac Eldorado-style). Fans and the press assume this is the shoot for a live-action marketing trailer — there is NO official Rockstar/Take-Two statement confirming who organized the shoot or its purpose. A different event from c-262 (painted campaign cars simply driving around): here there's a coordinated film crew with a closed road, camera and drone — a sign of professional production, not just a vehicle display. Rumor ceiling: the identification as a “trailer” is viewer/press interpretation, not a confirmed fact. Process note: the same event had already been described in prose in n-093 (21/10) without its own claim id — the independent “what we missed” reviewer flagged it as MISSED because there was no explicit claim; it is now formally tied here, and n-093 has been updated with the link.

The “CyberLeek” extortion wave closed (14/10): the memecoin failed to reach $30 million — the leaker said the leaks stop here, for now, keeping an automatic-spoiler mechanism in case of prosecution.

From 10/10, dozens of outlets (Polygon, IGN, Kotaku, Forbes, Eurogamer, GamesRadar+, Tom's Hardware, and others) relayed new threats from the leaker again using the name/brand “CyberLeek”: they claim to hold a build of GTA 6 with the full story, playthrough through to the end credits, and offer to show “any piece on request” to prove it — no independent confirmation that the build is authentic or current. The demands, as reported by GamesRadar+/Tom's Hardware (11/10): (1) Take-Two bring back real physical discs instead of “code in a box” editions, (2) a public apology to players, (3) a new memecoin (“Cyberleek”/$CYBERLEEK on Solana, a DIFFERENT token from the original one in August, c-095) reach a $30 million market cap — all before the 19/11 release. At the same time, clips surfaced showing a “naked Lucia” skydiving and an ATM robbery, which several outlets (OpenCritic, iXBT) note are NOT even confirmed to come from the same game. Security warning: files circulating as “copies” of the alleged build have already been linked to malware — NO file should be downloaded from anywhere claiming to be the leaked build. Same pattern as the original CyberLeek: an earlier “manifesto” from the same brand had already attacked practices like digital pre-orders and code-in-a-box physical editions — today's demands look like a continuation of that narrative, not a new motive. Rumor ceiling: this is exclusively statements from an anonymous leaker/memecoin promoter, with no confirmation from Rockstar/Take-Two nor proof that the material is authentic. SPLIT from c-095 (debunked, August): that token/scheme collapsed back then — this is a new, later scheme with the same name-brand, not a continuation of the same coin. UPDATE 13/10: it's reported (Kotaku/iXBT.games, 12/10) that the $CYBERLEEK memecoin's value CRASHED after the “naked Lucia” clip — the leaker responds with a threat of escalation, not with new proof of authenticity. The Rumor ceiling remains unchanged. UPDATE 14-15/10 (close of the wave): three additional details before the close. (1) Size: the leaker reported that the full playable build of GTA 6 exceeds 200GB — no confirmation from Rockstar/Take-Two on the final release size (eGamers.io/Mashable, 14/10). (2) A new clip of roughly 5 minutes showed customizing Lucia's appearance (haircuts/clothes at a hair salon and clothing store), with no narrative elements (GameRant, 14/10). (3) Final statement: after the $CYBERLEEK memecoin stalled at roughly $1.03 million instead of the $30 million target and dropped about 40%, the leaker posted a 20th clip with out-of-context, spoiler-free excerpts from the final missions and stated that the leaks stop here, for now: they will not post the full build or any story spoilers. They do, however, keep active an automatic-publishing mechanism in case they are “removed” (e.g. legal action by Take-Two) — known internationally as a dead man's switch — which promises to automatically publish ONLY story spoilers (not the build itself) if triggered, staying inactive as long as they remain undisturbed. They denied that the memecoin was a liquidity-pull scam (IGN/Forbes/Notebookcheck/Dexerto/Kotaku, 14/10). Rumor ceiling unchanged — again, this is exclusively statements from an anonymous leaker.

Actor Brett Gipson (Sabretooth in “Marvel's Wolverine”) lists a supporting role, “Ellis”, in GTA 6 on his résumé (Actors Access) — no confirmation from Rockstar or the actor himself.

MP1st spotted that actor Brett Gipson —known for playing Jim Hopper in “Stranger Things: Tales from '85” and Sabretooth in the upcoming “Marvel's Wolverine”— lists a supporting role named “Ellis” in GTA 6 on his professional résumé on Actors Access (the casting platform where actors register their roles), alongside his other known roles — a sign that it's considered significant enough to mention. Multiple outlets (GamingBolt, Gfinity, Altchar, Beebom, RockstarIntel) republished the finding today. NO confirmation from Rockstar or any public statement from the actor himself — the character “Ellis” hasn't appeared in any trailer/screenshot so far, nor is the size of the role known. Rumor ceiling: a self-listed résumé entry, no official source — the casting-leaks rule (cf. c-093 through c-098) stays the same.

Testimony at the Glasgow trial revealed private staff discussion about “32-player” online in GTA 6 — Rockstar called it a closely guarded secret, without confirming it as a final feature.

In the same trial where Rockstar explains the dismissals (c-171), court documents state that two employees discussed a “32-player online format” in a private Discord channel — the company described it as one of its most closely guarded secrets, comparing its protection to “Apple protecting the iPhone or Coca-Cola its formula”. Why Rumor and not higher: the number doesn't come from a Rockstar announcement about the game — it comes from an internal, private staff discussion revealed through court proceedings, meaning it is essentially a leak. Rockstar confirmed only that sensitive information leaked — not its content as a definitive feature. Note: the “32” matches exactly the known lobby cap of GTA Online (V) — 30 active players + 2 spectator slots — so there is a risk this is simply the same reference number, not a confirmed plan for GTA 6. GTA 6 remains officially single-player, with no online mode announcement (c-008).

60fps performance mode on PS5 / PS5 Pro.

Status: the insiders disagree among themselves too (60fps everywhere / Pro only / nowhere). There is no written announcement of performance targets from Rockstar for any platform — the head of development at Rockstar North, however, stated on 28/8 that the game currently runs at 30fps on consoles and that more options may be added later (c-163). Meaning: 60fps was not ruled out for the future, but it was not promised for launch.

The full map “leaked” — 5 counties: Vice Dale, Kelly, Leonard, Mariana, Lummox. From CyberLeek's old build; the mapping community divided.

Status: it comes from the CyberLeek leak (old build) — Mariana/Lummox are disputed even inside the mapping community. Rockstar has not shown a full map. Here ONLY text — you will never see the image on this site.

Details on GTA 6 Online (modes, businesses, how you make money).

Status: Rockstar hasn't presented an online component — officially the game launches as single-player. Precedent: GTA Online came ~2 weeks after GTA 5. Anything going around is speculation.

A third delay is coming.

Status: it comes from comments by FORMER employees with no inside knowledge. With preorders open and preload scheduled, everything points to a firm date.

$1bn in preorders in the first hour.

Status: it's circulating everywhere, no credible source confirms it — and on the 7/8 call Take-Two explicitly refused to give preorder numbers. The only documented figures are Newzoo estimates.

Cap 17

Lies and mistakes — they stay here in public, so you can see what “sure thing” collapsed.

Cap: the rumored Collector's Edition at ~$229 was never confirmed — the actual collector's edition ($399.99, see #c-196) is a different product, without the game inside.

Rockstar officially announced on 24/9 the only real collector's edition: “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection”, $399.99, available at store.rockstargames.com (see #c-196). It has no connection to the rumored “black Vice City Leonida box at ~$229” from the 9/9 leak — different price, different content (11 merchandise items inspired by the show Macca the Gator; does NOT include the game itself), different source (Rockstar's official store, not a packaging employee leak). The photos from the X account on 9/9 were never confirmed by any outlet or by Rockstar, and remain unrelated to the real product. The only ways to get the game itself remain the Standard and Ultimate editions (code-in-box, c-005/c-007).

There is no “leaked” GTA 6: fake ISO downloads distribute two RATs (NJRAT, DCRAT), the Mercurial Grabber stealer, and a Chaos ransomware variant used as a file destroyer.

Huntress research (9/9): fake GTA 6 ISO files are being distributed via SEO-poisoning, forums, social media and torrent sites. The user mounts the ISO and runs a fake installer (“gta6installer.exe”) with Russian-language messages about an “unlicensed build”. The package installs: two remote access tools (NJRAT, DCRAT — keylogging, camera access, clipboard, machine control), the Mercurial Grabber stealer (Discord tokens, Chrome passwords, Roblox/Minecraft sessions, Windows keys — exfiltrated via a Discord webhook), and a variant of the Chaos ransomware used NOT for ransom but as a wiper: it encrypts files under 200MB and writes random data over larger ones, also deleting Windows shadow copies. A different, heavier package than the previous one (c-120, Vidar infostealer via “gta6demo” sites) — a different vector (ISO instead of a site), a different installer name, different malware families. No playable version of GTA 6 exists before 19/11 — whatever is downloaded today under that name is a scam.

Hundreds of fake Rockstar Social Club login pages, hosted on GitHub and Vercel, are stealing account passwords — the only real login is at socialclub.rockstargames.com.

NordVPN's Threat Intelligence team documented four distinct campaigns exploiting the wait for GTA 6; the largest in volume is phishing for Rockstar Social Club accounts: “hundreds of amateurish phishing pages” with fake login forms, hosted on GitHub and Vercel — trusted developer platforms that phishing filters struggle to block. The stolen accounts are “resold on dark web marketplaces or used for in-game scams” — progress and purchases in GTA Online have real resale value. NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis: “When people desperately want access to something early, they lower their guard. That is the window attackers exploit”. What you do: you log in to Social Club ONLY by typing socialclub.rockstargames.com or rockstargames.com yourself — never from a link in Discord, YouTube, a DM or a comment promising a beta, a key, a skin or “verification”; you turn on two-step verification. The difference from the other scam evidence notes: c-041 is fake beta invites, c-120 a fake demo with an infostealer, c-162 a wallet drainer — here the target is your account itself. Sources: NordVPN's primary page returns 403 to our tools; the whole Notebookcheck piece (26/5) was read and cross-checked against Decrypt (26/5) — same numbers, same use of the stolen credentials. Old (May) but live (Gizmodo 2/6 and coverage up to today); found 6/9 by the new Detection Grid (query “scam”) — until now the scam beat rested only on Malwarebytes.

There is no “GTA 6 Beta” app for Android: the APK circulating with Rockstar branding and an intro video has no game inside — it serves full-screen ads and pushes you into subscriptions.

The same NordVPN research describes the campaign targeting less experienced users — often children: an Android “GTA 6 Beta” app with “authentic-looking Rockstar Games branding”, which plays a realistic intro video and then asks you “to download additional data”. “There is no actual game inside”: the app “silently serves full-screen ads” and leads to pages that “push subscriptions to paid services”. According to Decrypt, its infrastructure traces to a domain with a history of banking trojans, ransomware and infostealers. It is distributed outside the Play Store, as an APK from links on Discord, YouTube and forums (Gizmodo, 2/6). The foundation of the Cap: Rockstar has announced no beta (c-041) and GTA 6 is not coming to mobile — only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (c-002). What you do: no APK installs from outside the store, ever; if a child has installed it, uninstall and check the subscriptions on the Google account. Sources: NordVPN's primary returns 403 to our tools; Notebookcheck (26/5) in full, cross-checked with Decrypt (26/5) and Gizmodo (2/6). Found 6/9 by the new Detection Grid; it isn't fresh, it's active — and it was nowhere in the Archive.

A fake “leaked copy” of GTA 6 is being sold for $50 or 1 SOL: there is no game — the page loads a wallet drainer that empties crypto wallets the moment you connect them.

Malwarebytes research (1/9): the page is set up as an innocent fan “countdown” page — correct release date, map images, gameplay information — and offers a “leaked copy” for $50 or 1 SOL (~$102). Nothing downloads: the theft code runs from the moment you open the page. Two mechanisms: embedded Solana code that reads the balance and gets ready to transfer nearly everything (leaving only the transaction fees), and a 2.4 MB script for Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base and Fantom, which appraises the wallet and either transfers immediately or extracts an approval so it can take tokens and entire NFT collections later. It is a DIFFERENT campaign from the fake “demos” with the Vidar infostealer (c-120): there you lost passwords, here you lose assets. The rule stays the same: GTA 6 is not playable and not for sale anywhere before 19/11 — and no legitimate game purchase asks you to “connect a wallet”.

There is no GTA 6 demo: knock-off “gta6demo” pages dressed in the Extended Look's material serve the Vidar infostealer through a 1.1 MB “gta6_installer.exe”.

Malwarebytes research (24/8): fake pages copy the official material of the Extended Look announcement and add a “Play Now” button. The file that downloads is just 1.1 MB — an impossible size for a AAA game — and installs the Vidar infostealer, which sweeps saved passwords, session cookies and history from 19 browsers. The stolen session tokens bypass two-factor checks as well. Domains recorded (defanged here, deliberately unlinked): gta6demo[.]asia, gta6demo[.]eu, gta6demo[.]us, rockstar-gta-6[.]com. The game is not playable anywhere before 19/11 — no official trial version exists.

CyberLeek “leaks for the community, not for profit”: a front — memecoin $CYBERLEEK, cash-out ~$250,000 hours before the Extended Look, collapse of the token.

Why it's a scam: the token was minted on Solana ~15/8, every clip carried a QR and the promise “higher market cap = more leeks”, and on 27/8 — hours before the premiere — the creator cashed out ~$250,000 (Tom's Hardware, CoinDesk). The token collapsed. Don't touch anything related to it.

“CyberLeek arrested in Nuremberg”: fake. No authority confirmed an arrest — and the leaker kept posting after the supposed “courtroom footage”.

Why not: no law enforcement, nor Rockstar/Take-Two, confirmed an arrest or an identification — and new clips went up on 19, 20, 21 and 26/8, after the viral “arrest video”. Fact-checks: Forbes, TalkEsport.

Take-Two raised its targets because of GTA 6 — and the $1.39bn is preorder revenue.

Status: two errors that circulated after 7/8. The guidance was not raised — it was reaffirmed at $8.0–8.2bn. And the $1.39bn is the whole company's net bookings for the quarter (NBA 2K, GTA Online etc.) — not GTA 6 preorder revenue.

The official soundtrack leaked — screenshot with Cash Cobain.

Source: fake — flagged by Community Notes (March 2025). The only certain songs are the ones heard in official material.

The game will take up 750GB — and the viral “gameplay leaks” of 2026 are real.

Source: the 750GB is a myth with no source; every viral “gameplay” this year turned out to be AI or staged (e.g. the clip of Lucia in the rain — the creator admitted it).

The base edition will cost $100.

Why not: the standard came out at €79.99 (24/6/2026). The $100 base fear lasted months — and was debunked at the register.

The editions will cost €90–200.

Why not: they were placeholder retail prices that circulated as a “leak”. Real prices: €79.99 / €99.99.

It will also come out on PS4 / Xbox One.

Why not: the announced platforms are only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no previous-gen version.

It's cancelled or slipping to 2027.

Why not: the latest official date is 19 November 2026 and it stands — with pre-orders already open. If it changes, you'll see it here first.

Frequently asked questions

How do you decide what's “Confirmed”?

Confirmed = Rockstar / Take-Two themselves have said or shown it CLEARLY. Nothing else. No “insider”, no news report, no leak.

What does “Solid” mean?

Either it's there in official material but needs interpretation, or it comes from journalism with a proven track record (e.g. Bloomberg). Very likely — but not stated outright.

What is “The Read”?

Third-party numbers and conclusions (Digital Foundry, analytics firms). We show them with their own label, off the scale — because an estimate, however good, is not a fact.

Why don't you run leaks as news?

Because most of them turn out to be wrong. We log them as “Rumor”, in text only — never the material itself. Look how many “certain” leaks ended up in Cap.

What does the “Rumor → Confirmed” arrow mean?

That the claim MOVED — and its history stays public, with dates and sources. No other GTA site keeps a label history. That's our signature.
