10 beginner mistakes
These aren't guesses about GTA 6 — they're lessons from years of GTA Online, and they almost certainly apply here too. Read them now, they'll save you hours on Day 1.
The 3 worst
- You blow your first money on clothes and cars instead of something that makes money.
- You rush through the story and miss half the game.
- You listen to “guides” that invent numbers before the game is even out.
1. You blow your first money on flashy stuff
The classic one. Clothes, paint jobs, the first expensive car. None of it brings you anything back. Your first money is a tool, not a prize.
2. You're in a hurry to “finish it”
GTA isn't a game you speedrun. The side jobs, the random encounters and the exploring are half the game. If you only chase the main story, you'll finish it and think it was small.
3. You set nothing up before you play
Five minutes in the settings — brightness, sensitivity, subtitles, aiming — changes the whole experience. Most people play 40 hours on the defaults and regret it.
4. You go online before you learn the basics
Online is a harsh place for someone who can't even drive properly. Do some story first: you learn the controls, the map, the mechanics — for free.
5. You play solo in a public session for no reason
Historically in GTA Online, public sessions are full of people who'll hassle you while you're working. When you're running jobs, take the quietest session the game gives you.
6. You buy before you check
Every GTA has trap purchases: expensive, flashy, useless. Before any big buy, check whether it unlocks something or is just pretty.
7. You don't check what's on bonus this week
Historically, every week some activities pay double or triple. Playing whatever comes up instead of what's on bonus is like working for half pay.
8. You chase glitches
They always show up, they always get patched, and they break the terms of service — they can cost you the account you built. Not worth it.
9. You burn yourself on spoilers
That first week the internet will be a minefield. You only play a GTA story for the first time once — don't let a thumbnail ruin it for you.
10. You believe “guides” from people who haven't played
“The best weapons in GTA 6” and “how much money you make per hour” are already going around. The game isn't out. They're made up, for clicks. Always ask: where did you measure that?

The cops search your last known position — not the spot where you actually are.Six wanted stars — the scale goes back to six, after GTA V's five.Hollow stars = they're looking for you without line of sight; they fill in when they spot you.Below the stars, icons show what the police know about you: face, clothes, vehicle, cameras, duo, weapon.Recognition countermeasures: a full change of appearance — clothes, mask, vehicle — or splitting up the duo; a haircut on its own isn't enough. The fugitive's handbook in action: you torch the car, switch vehicles, disappear into the neighborhood — and the search fizzles out.“Busted” is back — and one of the two can get arrested while the other stays free. The small acts count toward the profile: you pet a dog and a little-angel icon appears on screen.Violence the mission itself demands doesn't count against the Criminal Profile — what counts is what you choose.Four options facing every NPC: Greet, Taunt, Antagonize — and Defuse, to deflate tensions.Snapmatic: you see posts and follow — but as a fugitive you don't upload anything of your own.Cap 5
Invites for a GTA 6 beta have been sent out. There is no GTA 6 demo: knock-off “gta6demo” pages dressed in the Extended Look's material serve the Vidar infostealer through a 1.1 MB “gta6_installer.exe”.Hundreds of fake Rockstar Social Club login pages, hosted on GitHub and Vercel, are stealing account passwords — the only real login is at socialclub.rockstargames.com.There is no “GTA 6 Beta” app for Android: the APK circulating with Rockstar branding and an intro video has no game inside — it serves full-screen ads and pushes you into subscriptions. It'll have RP servers from day one.File history
