The fake GTA 6 “demo” — what you're actually downloading

If you've searched “GTA 6 demo” in the last few days, you've probably hit pages built to look like Rockstar's: same images, same details about “An Extended Look”, and a big Play Now button. Nothing plays — the button pulls down a gta6_installer.exe weighing 1.1 MB. No modern game fits in that; what installs is Vidar, an infostealer that harvests saved passwords, session cookies and history from 19 browsers.

The part nobody mentions: stolen session cookies bypass two-factor authentication — the attacker walks straight in with your session, no password, no SMS. If you ran something like this, changing your password isn't enough on its own: you have to sign out of every session too. The rule, no asterisks: there is no GTA 6 demo. No beta, no early access — nothing is playable before 19 November. Evidence: Malwarebytes research (24/8) · c-120 · see also c-041 on the fake “beta invites”.

Miami's E11even becomes GTA 6's fictional “Nine1Nine” for one night — but it's not a Rockstar event

The "Nine1Nine" (or "Sexiety Nightclub") first appeared as a fictional nightclub in the first GTA 6 trailer (December 2023) — an airship banner over Vice Beach read "Why Sixty Nine When You Can Nine 1 Nine", an obvious pun on the real E11even, the 24-hour superclub in downtown Miami. E11even itself responded at the time with its own banner ("When Nine 1 Nine = E11even"), adopting the comparison as its own publicity (#320).

Three years later, GTA BOOM and the Miami New Times (30/10) write that E11even is hosting its own "IRL grand opening" of Nine1Nine on Friday 6 November, with Flo Rida as headliner — tickets from ~$40-45, VIP tables, age limit 21+, dress code, non-transferable tickets. The club's official website (11miami.com, where nine1nine.club also redirects) independently confirms: separate ticket listings "NINE1NINE VICE CITY GRAND OPENING" and "FLO RIDA AT E11EVEN" dated 6/11/2026.

GTA BOOM states explicitly that this is a private initiative by the club itself riding on the joke, not an official Rockstar event — no involvement from Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive. It's the latest, more commercial chapter in a series of real Miami businesses/entities capitalizing on the game's publicity around launch (19/11) — alongside Miami-Dade County's own official marketing package with Rockstar (#169) and the conversion of part of Miami Beach into “Vice Beach” (#284).

Official: Justice's “Original Score” has 30 tracks, releases 11 December on CD and vinyl

A full listing on New Zealand's Apple Music Store had revealed on 28/10 that “Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score” — the original soundtrack composed by French duo Justice — is a separate release from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (#299). On 29/10 Rockstar itself officially confirmed it via Newswire, correcting the track count: 30 (not 50) + digital bonus tracks, releasing 11 December on streaming, CD (two discs) and vinyl (three LPs, special edition with clear vinyl).

Rockstar describes the project as an “adaptive score” — literally, “adaptive score” — with compositions “dynamically tuned to the different ways players interact with the world of Vice City and Leonida” across Jason and Lucia's story.

Two tracks are already out: “Flower in a Hurricane” (the Launch Trailer song, #257) and “Pusher”, a Justice collaboration with Gesaffelstein — it went up on Spotify first in New Zealand (28/10, due to the time zone) with a worldwide release on 29/10, the same day as the official announcement. Runtime 7:02 minutes.

Edge went inside Rockstar's offices: map “a pyramid on Everest”, NPC studio in Los Angeles, police dogs

The British magazine Edge published issue #430 today — a 16-page cover feature following a visit to Rockstar North's offices in Edinburgh. Co-studio head Aaron Garbut gave a new yardstick for comparing the size of Leonida's map: “almost as large as the combined playable landmasses of GTA 4, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2” (#029), with “an order of magnitude more interiors” than the company's previous games. On the pressure to meet expectations after 13 years, Garbut: “I feel like we built a pyramid on Everest”.

The feature reveals that Rockstar set up an entire studio in Los Angeles exclusively for Leonida's residents — every NPC has a written personality (temperament, aggression, location, what they've witnessed, how you treated them), with different reactions per neighborhood (#304). Separate teams worked exclusively on fictional brands, billboards, radio ads, TV programs, and political campaigns within the game (#303).

On crime: police dogs (K-9) now take part in pursuits (#307), holding a weapon visible worries bystanders even if you don't aim it at anyone — but you can put it down and de-escalate before a star ramps up (#305), and crime scenes become less predictable: victims who resist, bystanders who intervene, strangers who challenge you to a street race (#306). The Criminal Profile gets explicit names for its extremes — “Professional” ↔ “Irredeemable”, with an angel icon and a devil icon (#055) — and the Jason-Lucia Bond is now measured on four specific levels (#308). Buses and trains run normally, the day-night cycle lasts much longer than in GTA 5, and the streets are narrower for realism (#302).

The report also gives more personal details: Garbut himself says the map is so dense that “even we” discover new corners while playing — an example being an unknown house where a dog photo in one room explains the remains in the one next door, with Jason reacting with revulsion (#310). The weather system gets “much more detailed” mechanics: storms that affect you as you approach, boats that rock depending on position, aircraft taking damage if you fly through bad weather for a long time (#201). The main mission line has “natural” obstacles — waiting or needing money before the next mission, not immediate access like before (#311). And Rob Nelson explains the story's central theme: Jason and Lucia want to leave crime behind for “bigger ambitions” together, beyond money (#312). The Criminal Profile gets three distinct approaches — non-lethal takedown, intimidation, or violence (#055).

A third pass through the same issue (10/30) revealed even more: every vehicle has a fuel gauge and an engine-condition indicator (#313), the “WAINK” app works as a chop-shop job board with location tracking — expensive vehicles alert the police, but there are signal blockers at the drop-off points (#314) — and the “Scooter Bros” app delivers your personal vehicle for a fee, with your guns stored in the trunk (#315). The Heat system logs appearance, clothing, weapons, accomplice, and CCTV footage — changing clothes or ditching a weapon “clears” you (#316). Phil Hooker explicitly confirmed that the team actually tested the buses/trains, “learning the routes and crossing them across the whole map”, and Rob Nelson explained why the day-night cycle is slower: GTA 5's pace “felt too fast” for the new world's level of detail (#302). Finally, Rob Nelson gave the first on-record quote about the Bond: “we start them off wanting to be together... but as the game progresses it's up to you to keep it or lose it” — explicitly refusing to confirm whether Jason and Lucia can get married (#308).

Aaron Garbut gives perhaps the most pithy quote of the whole issue: “you can have your life inside the game” — buying cigarettes/beer at the shop, catching a train all day, a night out at a club. Rob Nelson adds that the goal is to let the world play however it wants — but the Edge writer explicitly notes the limits: you choose WHAT KIND of criminal you are, not WHETHER you are one — you don't drop everything to become a yoga instructor (#318).

Miami-Dade approves $3.9M marketing package with Rockstar — without renaming the airport

Miami-Dade announced an approved $3.9 million marketing package with Rockstar Games, resolving a 9-day open thread following the contentious commissioners' session on 20/10 (#169). The final package is more limited than the original proposal to rename the airport itself “Vice City”: themed lighting at Miami International Airport and PortMiami, advertising screens on pedestrian-walkway parking terminals, a GTA 6 gradient design on traffic-signal cabinets, and a separate campaign across Metromover/Metrobus/Metrorail.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava presented it as a win for the community, translated: “With millions of people around the world waiting for this release, we have the opportunity to make sure Miami-Dade benefits from that attention”. The county still has to approve the final designs; Rockstar bears installation, maintenance and removal. Separate from the already-signed signage deal at the Kaseya Center (#183), which is unaffected.

“Leonida” coffee from a Miami café, and GTA 6 review copies go out with watermarks

Miami coffee shop Vice City Bean released a limited “Leonida” coffee line — a Colombia/Ethiopia blend, 10oz for $23, with an explicit nod to GTA 6 and Vice City right on the packaging (#298). It's the newest channel in a Miami-centered marketing campaign that already includes Burger Shot/Cluckin' Bell at the Kaseya Center, the Wynwood Walls, and the BAYO festival — always with the business confirming its own participation, never Rockstar itself.

Meanwhile, journalist Tom Henderson and content creator ManaByte report that the first GTA 6 review copies have started going out to outlets — each copy carries a unique watermark (critic's name) visible on screen, so any footage leak can be traced to its source (#288). Henderson calls it “standard practice” for Rockstar — an update on the already-known review embargo thread (18/11), not a new development. No official Rockstar/Take-Two statement on either.

The Read

Record purchase intent from Circana, and fictional GTA 6 brands “come to life” on billboards in four American cities

Market research firm Circana announced that 29% of American console/PC gamers say they intend to buy GTA 6 — the highest percentage the firm has ever measured for any game (#300). Analyst Mat Piscatella attributes this to the 13-year gap since GTA 5 and expects demand to spill over into consoles, accessories, and subscriptions around the release — a separate statistic from the already-recorded +22% in PS5 sales (#282).

Meanwhile, fan photos on r/GTA6 show fictional in-game brands — “Dix” (lipstick), “Juice Loose” (drink), and “Macca & Friends” (cartoons) — as real billboards in Miami, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles (#301). One poster is said to hide the release date as an easter egg (“Coming November 19 on Weazel”). No official advertising company nor Rockstar itself has confirmed ownership — just fan photos, as with similar threads in other cities we're already tracking unconfirmed.

South Park aired real GTA 6 gameplay — and Rockstar was credited in the end credits

In the episode “Guinea Pig on a Stick” (season 29, 28/10), South Park aired a short clip of real GTA 6 gameplay: Jason on a Vice City beach, in a scene where a dog leaves a mess and the player throws it at a nearby NPC — the show's characters comment, impressed (#309).

The episode itself explicitly credits Rockstar Games in the end credits for the footage, ending any doubt about its authenticity. Rockstar usually guards its pre-release gameplay very strictly — handing it to a comedy show, three weeks before the 19/11 launch, works simultaneously as marketing and as a display of confidence in the final product.

New (30/10): Aaron Garbut confirmed the joke isn't random — it comes from a real “Disgust System”: characters react to filth/stench across all of Leonida. The team first built one reaction for a specific material, then turned it into a broad system so other locations can trigger varying degrees of revulsion (#309).

Three weeks before launch: Edge gets exclusive access, a 210GB rumor surfaces, and Rockstar employees vote on a union

Edge magazine visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh and is preparing an exclusive 16-page cover story on GTA 6 in issue #430 — on newsstands 29 October, with a gatefold cover of Jason and Lucia and, according to PC Gamer/GamesRadar+, a free online post of the full article the same day (#295). It's the second major magazine report after Game Informer #382 on 29 September (#197).

Meanwhile, an X account specializing in game size data from the PlayStation Network backend reported that GTA 6 will take up 210GB on PS5 — Insider Gaming says it can confirm this independently, but the PlayStation Store page itself still doesn't show a download size and Rockstar has said nothing official (#296). The number is more specific than the “over 200GB” reported by leaker CyberLeek in October.

On a third, completely different front, Rockstar workers in the United Kingdom will vote from 12 to 26 November on whether to officially recognise the IWGB union — a period that covers exactly the game's release on 19 November, and coincides with the final submissions to the Glasgow employment tribunal for the 31 workers who were dismissed last year (#297). Three separate clocks are counting down to the same date, for three completely different reasons.

The suspected Lucia actress publicly ignored every question about GTA 6 — due to NDA, journalistic sources say

On 26 October, Manni L. Perez — the actress who, according to reporting by Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) and SAG-AFTRA documents, plays Lucia (#024) — did her first public live stream on Instagram, with over 2,000 viewers. For about 12 minutes she spoke exclusively about everyday topics (cooking, her dog, her apartment, her car), pointedly ignoring every comment that referenced “GTA 6” or “Lucia” — even a direct question about whether she is “ready for November”.

Multiple journalistic outlets (TheGamer, IGN, Video Games Chronicle, games.gg) report that Rockstar has sent actors a strict reminder that they are under NDA and are not allowed to reveal their involvement before 19 November — a possible explanation for the deliberate avoidance. None of the outlets quotes the primary reminder document; the information is conveyed as journalistic reporting, not as an official Rockstar statement.

The incident is not a new confirmation of the role — #024 remains Solid, based on the original Schreier/SAG-AFTRA reporting and not on this incident. Rockstar has not officially announced any actor for the game.

Two snapshots before release: record leave requests and a first Billboard Hot 100 for a song from the Album

HR software company BambooHR shared data from its platform with Money.com: paid leave requests for 19 November — GTA 6's release day — are 9%-17% above the historical average of a typical third Thursday of November (#293). The company itself warns that it cannot attribute the increase solely to the game — a separate finding from the academic estimate of ~$1 billion in lost productivity (#276), but the same direction: many Americans are planning to take the day off on release day.

Meanwhile, Billboard reported that “Flower in a Hurricane” — the Justice song featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (#294) — debuted at No.62 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first Hot 100 hit in the career of Australians King Gizzard after 28 studio albums. It's the third song from the Album to reach the chart, after Morgan Wallen and Travis Scott.

Two different, independent signs of the same picture: GTA 6's release already has a measurable footprint on daily life (work leave) and on the music market (charts), three weeks before launch.

The “Vice City” campaign reaches the stadium: GTA 6 ads throughout the Real Madrid-Barcelona Clásico

At the 25 October Real Madrid-Barcelona Clásico, the perimeter LED screens at Spotify Camp Nou repeatedly displayed the GTA 6 logo with the message “Coming 19 November” (#292) — in front of ~63,000 spectators at the stadium and an estimated global TV audience of ~650 million, one of the most watched football matches in the world.

It's the marketing campaign's first appearance at a European football stadium — after the billboards in Miami (#179, #183), Brooklyn (#223) and Paris (#237), and a few days after the first TV spot on NBA opening night (#281). No explicit Rockstar/Take-Two statement about the ad deal — confirmed via video/photos from multiple independent outlets.

“Burger Shot” isn't staying at the arena: EVERY Skinny Louie location in Florida is becoming a GTA pop-up

The real-life version of “Burger Shot” at the Kaseya Center (#280) wasn't a single, isolated stadium activation — it was the start of a statewide deal. Secret Miami revealed (24/10) that the burger chain “Skinny Louie” is converting EVERY one of its Florida locations into a “Burger Shot” pop-up, in partnership with Rockstar Games, from early November through 31 December — same smash burger/fries menu, new GTA VI-branded packaging (#289).

Skinny Louie itself confirmed the partnership on its own Instagram account. The scope was confirmed by multiple independent outlets (GameSpot, Video Games Chronicle, Beebom, games.gg) — no separate official Rockstar/Take-Two statement beyond the “social media post” cited by the press sources.

Part of the same “Welcome to Vice City” campaign as the sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center (#183) and the Miami Heat's “A Night in Vice City” on 18/11 (#212) — GTA 6 advertising is now moving beyond the one stadium and spreading across the whole state.

Sony Is Writing GTA 6's Marketing in Its Own Colors

The first GTA 6 TV ad aired on NBC Sports on 20/10, NBA premiere night — a 90-second spot built from clips of the Launch Trailer (#256), but with the three shower kiss scenes removed to make room for slightly longer shots elsewhere. Most notably: no Xbox mention or logo appears anywhere in the spot — it closes exclusively with the PlayStation logo, even though the game launches simultaneously on both consoles on 19/11 (#3). Multiple independent outlets (IGN, Kotaku, TheGamer, ComicBook.com, TalkEsport, Mezha.net) describe the same broadcast consistently, with no official Rockstar/Take-Two/Sony explanation for this specific editing choice (#281).

This preference isn't new — GTA 6 is already officially “PS5 Pro Enhanced” (#116) and every official trailer so far has been shot on a standard PS5 (#163). Meanwhile, Bloomberg (22/10), citing data from research firm Circana, reports an analysis (not an official statement) that PS5 unit sales in the US rose 22% in September — hardware revenue +43% — with analysts linking the rise to anticipation for GTA 6 and demand for the already sold-out PS5 Pro (#282). A different metric from Sensor Tower's pre-order estimates (#108): here we're talking about the console itself, not the game.

Rockstar's ~$5 million deal with Miami Beach revealed: the W hotel becomes “Y Hotel”

The Miami Beach city council had approved on 10/9 (#179, vote 4-3) for the city manager to negotiate a marketing deal with Rockstar. On 22/10, GTAVice.net published documents it reportedly obtained from the city with the real numbers: the historic W South Beach hotel is being converted into Vice City's “Y Hotel” for 50,000 — 00,000 for the facade signage, 50,000 for a sculpture replacing the “W” emblem with “Y”, 00,000 for beach activities (#284). A separate “Vice Beach” sign almost 7 feet tall and 34+ feet wide is being erected at the historic Lummus Park, and the legendary Muscle Beach's outdoor gym equipment is being painted bright pink.

Gameranx, the same day and with its own reading of the documents, gives a larger total — roughly million, adding a separate ~ million deal with beach management company Boucher Brothers and a custom promotional vehicle worth ~40,000 — and warns that, as of 15/10, no permit had yet been approved by the city. The contracts explicitly provide for the possibility of canceling individual campaign elements if the required permits aren't issued — meaning the plan isn't yet 100% secured, despite work being scheduled from 26/10 and activation from 1/11.

No word has been found from Rockstar/Take-Two or from the city itself — the documentation is based on public municipal records, as read by two independent GTA fan-sites. Part of the same broader “Welcome to Vice City” campaign with the sign at the Kaseya Center (#183), the painted cars (#262), and the filming near Bayside Marketplace (#279).

The collateral damage of hype: a job in Miami and Xbox's old consoles

Graham Simmon, a Miami resident who works at a marketing company, told Kotaku he was fired after a TikTok video he posted: beach loungers and umbrellas branded with GTA 6, part of the “Welcome to Vice City” campaign in Miami Beach (#179). The video started with fewer than 1,000 views, until it spread widely. “GTA 6 basically cost me my job,” he said — without anger, admitting it was his own mistake not to know that filming was prohibited before the official reveal.

Meanwhile, Xbox sent an email to console owners who haven't played in a while, suggesting a trade-in at Best Buy for up to $375. HotHardware journalistically linked the timing to GTA 6: the Xbox Series X remains immediately available, while the PS5/PS5 Pro faces stock shortages — so the trade-in redistributes inactive consoles to active players ahead of the 19/11 release. No official Xbox/Microsoft statement confirms the link — only the email itself is actual evidence; the reasoning is press analysis.

Two small stories, one common thread: as the release approaches, GTA 6 is starting to leave marks on the lives of people who have nothing to do with the game's own development — from a firing in Miami to the console shelves of electronics stores.

Burger Shot steps off the screen: a real stand at the Miami Heat's arena

Photos from Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat, show that the arena's burger stand was renamed “Burger Shot” — the GTA franchise's well-known fast food chain — with posters for the fictional brands Vice City and Macca & Friends put up inside the venue (#280). It's not clear whether the menu actually changed or whether this is simply a cosmetic renaming.

The move is part of the already-known “A Night in Vice City” partnership (#212): on 18/11 the Miami Heat play as “Vice City Heat” hosting the Milwaukee Bucks, the eve of the release, at the same arena where the “Welcome to Vice City” sign is already lit on the roof (#183). The owner of the venue is the team/arena — Rockstar is involved as a named partner, as in the original announcement.

GTA 6's beers might become real

Three of GTA 6's fictional beer brands — Pißwasser, Patriot, and the brand-new “No Mames Vice City” — were found to have passed label approval in the public registry (COLA) of the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the government agency that approves labels for alcoholic beverages (#275). “No Mames Vice City” is a 6% ABV lager with a design of a dog wearing sunglasses against a pink-purple sunset, and explicit GTA VI branding.

Behind the applications is Tripping Animals Brewing, a local brewery in Doral, outside Miami — the same city where Rockstar is already running a whole “Welcome to Vice City” campaign with billboards, a blimp, and GTA-style cars (#183). The approval dates (29/9, 9/10, 15/10) show the process has been running quietly for weeks.

Neither Rockstar nor the brewery has made an official announcement — it's unknown when, where, or even whether the beers will actually be sold. The finding was first spotted by the site iGrandTheftAuto, searching directly in the public government database — a source category the Archive hadn't systematically looked at before (see “What I learned”).

The number behind the doubled team — and cameras in Miami

Rockstar had already said back in August that its team “more than doubled” since Red Dead Redemption 2 (#124) — without giving a number. Jason Schreier filled that in: from ~2,400 employees in 2018 to ~4,700 today, with GTA 6's art team growing tenfold — from 5-6 people on GTA V to 65. Part of the expansion is a new studio in Los Angeles dedicated solely to NPC behavior.

Meanwhile, in Miami, a new video showed the already-known convoy of GTA-style cars (#183) passing near Bayside Marketplace with police closing off the road, a car with a camera on the hood and a drone overhead — signs of a professional shoot (#279). Press headlines spoke of a possible live-action trailer, but it remains explicitly RUMOR/speculation — no confirmation from Rockstar on exactly what is being filmed.

Rumor

Rumor: Daft Punk turned down the GTA 6 soundtrack before Justice accepted

On 20/10, music-news leaker account “Has It Leaked” posted unconfirmed information on X: before settling on Justice (#257), Rockstar had first approached Daft Punk to compose the GTA 6 score, pitching it as a “final comeback” for the disbanded French duo with what was described as an “essentially unlimited” budget. The duo reportedly refused, and Rockstar ended up with Justice, who have already been officially confirmed as the composers of the entire original score — the Launch Trailer's “Flower in a Hurricane” belongs to them.

The story was widely picked up (Mixmag, NME, MusicRadar, Dexerto, Happy Mag, shattered.io) but no side — Rockstar, Daft Punk, Justice — has confirmed any part of it. One fact we already KNOW officially adds “plausibility” without proving it: Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo IS the producer of Travis Scott's “RHYNO”, one of the album's early singles (#192) — but that's a separate, confirmed collaboration, not proof of the rumor about refusing the whole score.

Rumor ceiling: the only source is an anonymous leaker account, with no primary confirmation (#283). It changes nothing about the already Confirmed fact that Justice are the final composers — it only adds unconfirmed history behind the choice.

The weapon wheel that never worked out: new details from inside GTA 6's development

Jason Schreier's major feature for Bloomberg Businessweek (#243 et seq., 14/10) keeps yielding new excerpts that didn't fit in the original article. The most striking: Rockstar spent “months, if not years”, testing dozens of alternatives to the classic weapon wheel — trays, weapon “webs”, and other interface forms — in an effort to fit the limited, realistic weapon handling of Red Dead Redemption 2 into the logic of a GTA (#273). The fear: a traditional wheel with empty slots would constantly remind the player of weapons they haven't acquired yet. After all this trial, the team landed back on a weapon wheel — the same system the Archive has logged as Confirmed since 27/8 (#038).

This friction, placed around the 2019-2022 period, reportedly led some designers to leave Rockstar out of frustration with the lack of clear direction. The same report carries an executive's statement that “there isn't one person who has this whole thing in their head” — a description of a process where designers add details organically, without a central plan, the same logic that gave Red Dead Redemption 2 small, unnecessary but memorable physics details.

A smaller but specific detail from the same material: art director Aaron Garbut gave a number to the already-known narrowing of Vice City's roads (#137, known since August) — roughly 15% narrower than GTA V's. Yesterday, the same report also yielded the detail that passerby NPC interaction technology had already been prototyped back in 2014 (#272) — the Edinburgh feature is proving to be a source that keeps on yielding, days after its publication.

The launch trailer surpassed in 4 days what the GTA V trailer gathered in 13 years

The GTA 6 launch trailer (Launch Trailer, released 15/10) has already surpassed 51 million views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel, in just four days (#274). For comparison: the GTA V trailer remains at approximately 34 million total views, almost 13 years after its release in 2013 — the new trailer surpassed that total within four days.

Tech4Gamers, which spotted the comparison, clarifies that the numbers measure exclusively Rockstar's official channel — not reposts, clips, or reaction videos elsewhere, which would push the real view total much higher. The same trailer had already broken a record in its first 24 hours (#184, Guinness) — the new data point shows that interest didn't deflate after the first wave, but kept accumulating.

Time off for spying: new detail from the Glasgow trial over the union Discord

A new detail has emerged from evidence in the Glasgow employment tribunal (#171): according to reporting by Chris Kerr at Vertical Slice, Rockstar's HR head Julie Stephen allegedly offered an employee extra time off in exchange for monitoring the private union Discord channel. The informant reportedly said they were “reading everything” and taking screenshots, staying inside the union's channel for about two and a half years (#270).

Rockstar's deputy HR head explicitly denied in her testimony “gathering information”, claiming no knowledge that anyone was collecting such material. This is a party's claim in open trial — 23 of the 34 fired employees are suing Rockstar for unfair dismissal over union activity, while the company accuses them of leaking confidential information.

The witness testimony phase closed on 16/10 (#215) — this detail concerns evidence that had already been presented to the court, not new testimony. Closing arguments on 17-18 November, one day before the release of GTA 6; no verdict is expected before then.

GTA 6 is now rated adults-only worldwide — and an easter egg for longtime fans on Jason's shirt

After the ESRB Mature rating (#027, 1/10) and the PEGI 18 (3/10), the remaining major markets completed their own classifications: Australia R18+ (with explicit reference to sex scenes and drug use — confirmed in the public register of the Australian Classification Board), New Zealand R18, South Korea 19+, Japan CERO Z, Germany USK 18, Saudi Arabia/UAE 21+ and Brazil ClassInd 18 (#269). No country refused classification or banned the game.

On the nostalgia front, TheGamer spotted a design on Jason's shirt in the Launch Trailer referencing a “combat school in North Fort Law” — an area of New Guernsey, the fictional state where the first Grand Theft Auto from 1997 took place (an enrichment of #256). The detail fits with Jason's already-known military past.

GTA V leaves PS Plus two days before GTA 6's release

A notification on PS5 consoles informed PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers that Grand Theft Auto V will remain available in the catalog only until 17 November — two days before GTA 6 arrives on PS5 on 19/11 (#266). Sony's message urges those “counting down” to visit Los Santos while there's still time.

GTA V isn't disappearing — it remains normally purchasable on the PS Store after that date. It's only being removed from the subscription library, a move that openly links the end of one era with the beginning of the next: the same notification points to the pre-order of GTA VI.

The “Welcome to Vice City” campaign gets an aerial element — Goodyear blimp over Miami

The global “Welcome to Vice City” outdoor marketing campaign gained an aerial leg: on 12/10 Goodyear's “Wingfoot Three” airship (registration N3A) took off from Ohio with GTA VI/“Vice City” livery on its side, confirmed via flight tracking (FlightAware) and photos from members of the Goodyear Blimp Fan Club (#259). On 15-16/10 it was photographed over Miami, in multiple independent sighting reports — but neither Rockstar nor Goodyear have officially confirmed the partnership or the route. It's the first aerial element of the same campaign that includes the Kaseya Center signage (#183) and the Miami Beach sun loungers (#179).

Meanwhile, it was revealed why the giant GTA VI banner in Paris (#237) isn't an exact copy of the official cover art: a photo comparison showed two guns were removed from the image — Lucia's pistol (along with her hand) and an automatic weapon next to her, replaced by an empty hand gesture. No official explanation yet (French gun advertising regulations are suspected), but the New York banner kept the guns unchanged — a sign that the censorship is a local decision, not a rule from Rockstar itself.

In an exclusive interview with Insider Gaming, G2A (a digital game code marketplace) stated that PlayStation voucher sales reached “record levels” when GTA 6 pre-orders opened, with traffic to the relevant pages increasing 65x — the platform's most searched-for product in 45 countries (#260). The company expects “successive waves” of purchasing activity around the launch, not a single peak — consistent with the fact that, as we already know, the game's standard edition is a download code in a box, not a disc.

Sam doesn't shout at anyone: the last day of witness testimony at the Glasgow employment tribunal

On Day 7 (16/10, the last scheduled day of witness testimony) of the Glasgow employment tribunal (#171), testimony continued from Jennifer Kolbe, Rockstar's head of licensing. Claimants' lawyer Harry Stratton asked her whether staff feared president Sam Houser, claiming he bursts into shouting outbursts — Kolbe categorically denied it, translated: this doesn't happen, Sam doesn't shout at anyone. Rockstar's lawyer, Thomas Cordrey, called the question itself entirely inappropriate.

Kolbe also explicitly denied, as entirely untrue, that she had known about the union Discord channel for years, described a summer 2025 incident involving fired employee Jordan Garland over a defamatory LinkedIn post of his against Xbox, and reiterated that Rockstar had explicitly told staff that GTA VI's development would not involve mandatory crunch — the same thing Kolbe herself described in the Bloomberg Businessweek feature (#251), now under oath as well.

Of the 34 dismissed employees, 23 are pursuing the case for unfair dismissal over union activity. This closes the witness testimony phase — next up are closing arguments from both sides on 17-18 November, one day before GTA 6's release. No verdict is expected before then.

Real cars painted as GTA 6 vehicles are driving around Miami — including a Lamborghini in Vice Beach Police colors

Since 15-16/10, photos and videos (#262) have been circulating of real cars painted in GTA 6 vehicle styles on the streets of Miami — a Lamborghini in Vice Beach Police colors (Vice City's fictional police force), a Chevrolet Corvette transformed into a Coquette with a Leonida license plate, and further vehicles in the same theme based on the Cheetah, Tempesta and Manana.

The cars were photographed gathered at a gas station with the Goodyear Vice City blimp (#259) visible in the background — a sign that the Welcome to Vice City outdoor marketing campaign (Kaseya Center #183, Miami Beach #179) is now also gaining a ground-level, moving component. No official Rockstar/Take-Two statement yet on who's organizing the stunt.

The White House comments on GTA 6 with AI image after Tesla Roadster's “flight”

On 15/10 the new Tesla Roadster was shown “flying” in a SpaceX test in Texas — cold-gas thrusters, a mid-air flip, 0-60mph in seconds. The next day the White House's official account posted an AI image (#265) of President Trump next to a hovering car with Marine One in the background, in a GTA-style font and aesthetic, with the caption: “We really did get flying cars before GTA 6.”

Part of a broader pattern of pop-culture posts from the administration (it has already used Mario/Naruto memes). No statement or reaction from Rockstar/Take-Two — purely cultural resonance, not a fact about the game.

Bloomberg: “hundreds” of interior spaces open up freely — gas station robbery without a mission, Jason-Lucia date at the gym

One day after the big Businessweek feature (14/10), Bloomberg published a second, separate piece — the newsletter “Behind the Scenes of Grand Theft Auto VI” (16/10) — with a recorded hands-on demo at Rockstar's offices. Rob Nelson played live as Jason: he called Lucia to hang out, they walked hand in hand in the park, exchanged a kiss, and went to the gym together — Jason did squats while Lucia ran on a treadmill (#226).

The more substantial revelation came next: the duo stopped outside a bank to “scan” it and decided not to rob it because of too many guards — but shortly after they went into the back office of a gas station, disabled the alarm and stole cash without being noticed, with no mission triggering it (#267). Nelson summed it up: “There are so many small interior spaces — hundreds — that you can explore”.

The detail confirms something the Archive had suspected from earlier previews (vehicle theft, Pay & Spray): GTA 6 wants its world to respond to the player's actions without the filter of a mission — robbing a random gas station is just as “real” as a scripted scene.

The GTA 6 Launch Trailer is out — an “easy job” goes wrong, Justice signs the score

On 15/10, without any prior announcement, Rockstar uploaded to rockstargames.com/VI/launch-trailer and to its YouTube channel the Launch Trailer (#256) — the last official video before the 19/11 release. In 90 seconds, filmed entirely on a standard PlayStation 5, Jason — with a military past and no job — reconnects with Lucia, who calls him from Leonida Penitentiary. The official description puts it simply: “an easy job goes wrong” and drags them into a criminal conspiracy across the state.

The trailer runs through a bank heist, a police chase, heist scenes with an aircraft, a fight on an airboat in the swamps, a concert, a shower scene with the two leads, and a flashback to Jason's military service — a dense, cinematic summary of everything we've seen so far across the two previous trailers and An Extended Look.

Along with the video, Rockstar confirmed that the game's original score is composed by the French duo Justice (#257) — the trailer's song, “Flower in a Hurricane”, is a collaboration with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and is part of the already-announced “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (34 songs, 19/11). No change to the release date — 19/11 is confirmed again, with preloads starting on 12/11.

At the Glasgow employment tribunal, Rockstar's head of licensing says the “informants” were “whistleblowers”

On Day 6 (15/10) of the Glasgow employment tribunal (#171), Jennifer Kolbe, Rockstar's head of licensing, also testified — a career that began as the company's receptionist before rising to one of its most senior executives. She described the discovery of employees' private Discord channel as an “unprecedented situation” and explicitly denied that Rockstar had “informants” (moles) inside the channel — she called them “whistleblowers”, a characterization that former employees strongly dispute.

The same day, the cross-examination of HR vice president Robert Spampinato continued, with claimants' lawyer Richard O'Keefe directly putting it that the trigger for the dismissals was the IWGB union's proximity to the recognition threshold — Spampinato called this “absolutely untrue”. Former employees gathered outside the Glasgow Tribunals Centre, almost a year after the October 2025 dismissals.

16/10 was the last scheduled day of witness testimony before the hearing moves to closing arguments from both sides, on 17 and 18 November — one day before GTA 6's release. No verdict is expected before then.

Activision's marketing boss: “GTA 6 and Modern Warfare 4 are the two biggest games of the year”

In an interview with The Game Business, Activision marketing VP Tyler Bahl remarked (#264): “No offense to Zelda, but [GTA 6 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4] are the two biggest games of the year.”

His logic isn't competitive: he believes GTA 6's 19/11 release will bring “more people back to consoles” — players dusting off their PS5/Xbox — meaning more “eyeballs” overall for the industry, which indirectly benefits his own Modern Warfare 4, releasing in the same window. A statement from a rival company about the market, not a fact about GTA 6 itself — ceiling The Read.

Bloomberg opened up Rockstar: “Project Americas”, crunch, the office-just-for-NPCs, and the truth about the cost

The article we'd been tracking since the morning is out: Jason Schreier (Bloomberg Businessweek) spent a day at Rockstar's offices in Edinburgh, alongside head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe and development leads Phil Hooker, Rob Nelson, and Aaron Garbut — the first time the company has spoken this openly about the difficulties behind GTA 6.

The game started as “Project Americas”, with an initial ambition for a map spanning North AND South America (#243) — the plan narrowed to Miami when Red Dead Redemption 2 absorbed the company's resources. Rob Nelson explains why a dedicated office in Los Angeles was built solely for pedestrians (NPCs): “the projections were terrifying” (#245) — a key reason for the first delay. The team tested and cut an overly realistic mechanic for buying beer/sandwiches at the register, settling on a balance between realism and ease (#246).

Jennifer Kolbe denied the rumor that the cost exceeded $1.5 billion — without revealing the actual amount (#250) — and says that after the grueling RDR2, Rockstar vowed not to finish GTA 6 “with crunch”: “we did things differently, and I'm proud of that” (#251). Phil Hooker says the game “is never fully locked” — they were still changing elements in the last few months (#247) — and, together with Aaron Garbut, promises that Rockstar's next game won't take another 8 years, thanks to the tools and team built for this one (#244).

Strauss Zelnick (CEO of Take-Two) recalls his reaction to every delay: “tell me you're joking” — but called it “logical” (#248). Aaron Garbut also spoke about the pain of the 2022 leak: “it's like someone going through your dirty laundry” (#249) — the 19/11 release date remains unchanged. The article also notes that the online portion of GTA 6 is expected in 2027, not alongside the single-player (#252) — journalistic information, not yet an official statement, hence Solid rather than Confirmed.

No mention of a PC date in the same article — Schreier had already clarified that the feature is not connected to the Q1 2027 rumors (#034).

At the same time, the same feature gave other details: Rockstar nearly doubled its headcount during development — from 2,441 employees in 2018 to 4,711 across 12 offices as of August 2026 (#253). A character sweat system was also revealed — Jason and Lucia sweat depending on physical exertion, e.g. more when dancing hard at a nightclub (#254). And, asked about the unionization request that followed the 2025 layoffs (#171), Jennifer Kolbe answered openly: “We go where the team goes. So if they want a union, they will have a union” — the unionization team has met with management every week since the summer (#255).

Rockstar's employment tribunal extended to 17-18 November — one day before GTA 6

The Glasgow employment tribunal over Rockstar's employee layoffs (#171) continued today with the testimony of Robert Spampinato, VP of Human Resources: he explicitly denied asking staff to monitor which employees were members of the IWGB union — “categorically not true”. The claimants' lawyer, Richard O'Keefe, who represents 23 former employees, alleged that executives were trying to “stay informed about collective grievances so as to stay ahead of the union” — based in part on 722 Discord messages across 109 threads that formed the basis of the gross misconduct allegations, and on information given to the company by an anonymous informant (“AB”) about union members' meetings.

A separate finding from the same day: the hearing, which was expected to conclude by 15-16/10, was extended — at the request of Rockstar's lawyers for more cross-examination time — for two additional days on 17 and 18 November. The coincidence does not go unnoticed: the hearing will now close one day before the release of GTA 6, on 19 November. No verdict is expected before then.

Rockstar repeats its position: “People in the UK and Canada were fired for serious misconduct after disclosing confidential corporate information, not because of alleged union status or activity”. That same 24 hours, in the Bloomberg Businessweek feature (the news), publishing head Jennifer Kolbe commented on the separate request for voluntary union recognition filed by a group of workers over the summer: “We go where the team goes. If they want a union, they'll have a union” (#255) — two very different pictures of the same company, on the same day.

The “CyberLeek” leaker halts GTA 6 leaks — for now

The anonymous leaker using the name “CyberLeek” closed, on 14/10, the wave of threats that had started on 10/10 (#239): the $CYBERLEEK memecoin that was supposedly going to “unlock” a fully playable build of GTA 6 at $30 million market cap stayed at around $1.03 million and crashed about 40%. Before withdrawing, the leaker uploaded one last, 20th clip with out-of-context excerpts from the final missions — no spoilers — and two separate pieces of information: a claim that the full build exceeds 200GB (no confirmation from Rockstar/Take-Two on the final release size) and a clip about 5 minutes long showing appearance customization of Lucia at a hair salon and a clothing store.

The departure statement was clear but not final: the leaks stop here, for now. The leaker will not publish the full build or story spoilers — but keeps active an automatic-publication mechanism (internationally known as a dead man's switch) that will activate ONLY if they are “removed” (e.g. legal action by Take-Two), at which point it would then automatically publish story spoilers exclusively. They also denied that the memecoin was a liquidity-withdrawal scam, claiming it functioned as a donation rather than an investment.

No word from Rockstar/Take-Two today on the closing of the wave — ceiling stays Rumor, unchanged. Take-Two had already, since August, turned to legal action (Discord subpoenas) against the original leak; if the automatic-publication mechanism is ever activated, it will concern the plot exclusively — not new playable material.

New excerpts from the Bloomberg feature: the “dark period” and the weapon wheel that was never replaced

Jason Schreier's big feature in Bloomberg Businessweek (14/10, #075) produced ten claims (#243–#252) with executive statements about GTA 6's eight-year development. Today (24/10), secondary outlets (GameRant, TechRadar) still “milking” the same piece surfaced two excerpts that hadn't been logged in the first pass.

Phil Hooker, co-head of development, talks about a “dark period” around 2022, when the team still had no unified vision for the game: “You go through a period where things aren't working, but you see glimpses” (#285). Meanwhile, Rob Nelson reveals that the team tried “a million different things” to replace the classic weapon wheel with something more realistic, along the lines of Red Dead Redemption — and ended up back at the same weapon wheel as the most functional system (#286).

Neither detail changes the already-known picture of the development — they enrich the same 14/10 feature with new angles: how uncertain the game's path was before it “clicked”, and how conservative Rockstar ultimately remains on core gameplay systems despite the experimentation.

The Miami campaign expands into music: Rockstar sponsors the BAYO festival in Little Haiti

Haitian producer/DJ Michaël Brun announced on 14 October the return of the BAYO music festival to the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami for the event's 10th anniversary, on 22 November 2026 — three days after the release of GTA 6 (#291). In his announcement he explicitly states: “new venue, huge surprises, the most iconic lineup to date, and FREE tickets courtesy of Rockstar Games”.

Entry is free via lottery (bayotour.com), with more than half of the seats explicitly reserved for Florida residents and the Haitian community — up to 7,500 attendees, the largest edition of BAYO in Little Haiti to date, according to multiple news outlets (Axios Miami, Vice, BroadwayWorld, FrontView Magazine).

The move adds a distinct, cultural/music channel to Miami's already extensive marketing campaign — the signage at the Kaseya Center (#183), the Wynwood Walls mural museum (#242), and the Miami Beach banners (#179) — showing that Rockstar is also targeting audiences beyond tourism/signage. Note: photos of signage at Times Square, buses in Chicago, and a mural on Hollywood Boulevard were spotted this week, but without explicit confirmation of ownership from Rockstar (unlike Miami) — on watch, not yet a claim.

Report: PC is coming as early as the first quarter of 2027 — and Take-Two announced its last earnings call before launch

GamesBeat (Alexander Lee) published a report today based on “four industry sources familiar with Rockstar's plans”, all anonymous: GTA 6's PC version is placed in the first quarter of 2027 — that is, 2 to 4 months after the PS5/Xbox Series X|S release on 19 November (#034). If confirmed, it would be a dramatically shorter gap than the 19 months GTA V needed to reach PC. Rockstar did not respond to a request for comment before publication — no official confirmation or denial yet, even though the news was picked up same-day by dozens of outlets.

At the same time, parent company Take-Two officially announced (IR press release) that it will present its fiscal year 2027 second-quarter financial results on Monday, 9 November 2026, after market close — the company's last scheduled public conference call before launch (#241). The announcement itself says nothing about new GTA 6 material — any press expectation of a new trailer or update on the call remains pure speculation.

Rockstar funds free admission to Wynwood Walls mural museum — new “The Art of Vice City” collection

Miami New Times, with independent confirmation from Complex and ARTnews, reports that Rockstar funded free admission to the Wynwood Walls mural museum for all Miami-Dade County residents, from 13 October 2026 through 2028 (#242). Access is confirmed with ID or digital proof of residency at the box office.

Alongside this, the “The Art of Vice City” collection was unveiled: ten newly commissioned murals by artists including Tristan Eaton, FAILE, Lady Aiko, Queen Andrea and Ron English, on view through 1 January 2027, and an exclusive apparel/merchandise line (t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, sketchbook) at the museum store.

Stockyard, the mural district of Vice City in GTA 6 (#pin-22), is explicitly based on the real Wynwood — the campaign closes the loop between the fictional and the real map of Miami, alongside the Williamsburg mural (#223), the Kaseya Center signage (#183) and the Miami Beach banners (#179).

Political backlash escalates in Miami: airport deal at risk, Miami Beach delayed

The GTA 6 marketing campaign in Florida ran into two separate setbacks in the same week. In Miami-Dade County, commissioners Rene Garcia and Danielle Cohen Higgins publicly opposed the plan to turn Miami International Airport (MIA), PortMiami, and the Metromover stations into “Vice City” elements (#169) — Garcia said he feels “very uncomfortable” linking the county to “a game that depicts Miami as the crime capital”, while Cohen Higgins cited county policy against advertising violent material. A commission vote on 20 October will decide whether the MIA/Metromover piece goes ahead at all — separate from the already-signed signage on the roof of the Kaseya Center (#183), which is not affected.

At the meeting, Garcia also mentioned, with skepticism, that Rockstar is reportedly spending “at least $150 million” on marketing — a figure that does NOT come from an official Rockstar/Take-Two statement, but solely from his own remarks at the meeting, and remains unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, in Miami Beach, the separate deal for “VI” branding on beach umbrellas/loungers (#179) remains unsigned — a city official confirmed to GTA BOOM that the 15 October start date is “probably not” the real one and will be delayed until the contract with Amplify Marketing Inc. is finalized. The rest of the Miami campaign pieces (downtown banners, the Heat's “A Night in Vice City” game) remain on schedule. No statement from Rockstar/Take-Two on either front.

At the Glasgow employment tribunal, the IWGB's lawyer catches Rockstar's HR executive in a contradiction

The full tribunal hearing over the dismissals of 31-34 Rockstar employees (#171) entered its fourth day on 9/10, with cross-examination now moving to Rockstar's own witnesses. First on the stand, Charlie Kinloch — Director of Human Resources and co-director of studio operations — is the person who received the anonymous informant's (“mole”) tips for 21 months inside the union's Discord channel, something that had been revealed anonymously on Day Two (11/9). Kinloch stated he had “little interest” in who was a member of the IWGB union — his priority, he said, was defamation and disinformation against the company.

But the IWGB's lawyer caught him in a contradiction: Kinloch initially said he didn't know which employees were union members, only to admit afterward that he had no way of knowing “for certain” — two different positions on the same question. He denied that the informant's anonymous messages (under the pseudonym “AB”) identified specific individuals. Asked why the company didn't proceed with immediate dismissals when demeaning comments surfaced in early 2024, he answered that the delay was due to the heightened publicity around GTA 6 — a greater financial risk if damaging information leaked at a moment when all eyes were on the game.

It was also revealed that Kinloch had flagged as a security issue two separate employee intentions: the creation of a union account on Twitter/X, and their intent to contact journalists Jason Schreier (Bloomberg) and Keza MacDonald (Guardian). The hearing continues through 16 October — no verdict has been reached yet.

Hacker behind 2022 video leak stands trial 10 days before launch

Arion Kurtaj, the then-teenage hacker who in September 2022 leaked approximately 90 clips from an early build of GTA 6 (and previously the source code of GTA V), will go to full criminal trial at Woolwich Crown Court on 9 November 2026 — ten days before the release of the very game he leaked (#236). His defense firm, Red Lion Chambers, confirmed the date; Kurtaj, a former member of the Lapsus$ group, had gained access to Rockstar's systems via a hotel television, a mobile phone and an Amazon Fire TV Stick — all while already under police protection at a Travelodge hotel, on bail conditions for earlier cyber-crimes.

In 2023 he had been ruled unfit to stand trial in the normal way due to severe autism; jurors then found, through a special procedure, that he had committed the acts corresponding to 12 offences, and he was ordered to be detained indefinitely in a secure psychiatric institution. The Court of Appeal later ruled that evidence for six earlier offences should not have been admitted — without, however, overturning the core findings. BBC cybersecurity reporter Joe Tidy confirmed that Kurtaj was recently moved from hospital to a regular prison, pending the trial.

This is a DIFFERENT person and event from Pepijn van der Stap, who was arrested in September as a ShinyHunters member for the April 2026 hack (#211) — Kurtaj is the original 2022 leaker, also unrelated to the “CyberLeek” wave of leaks from August 2026. No statement from Rockstar/Take-Two on the upcoming trial.

After Miami and Brooklyn, the GTA 6 campaign reaches Paris

The global outdoor advertising campaign for GTA 6 takes its first step outside the US: since 6 October, a massive ad (approximately 175 meters according to multiple sources) covers the facade of one of the Mercuriales towers at Porte de Bagnolet — right on the edge of Paris, visible from the ring road and the A3 motorway (#237). The event, initially spotted only via a French fan site (Rockstar Mag), has now been confirmed by multiple French outlets with photos — jeuxvideo.com, Konbini, Xboxygen, actu.fr.

The placement follows the same pattern as Miami Beach (#179) and Brooklyn (#223) — but, unlike both of those cases, still without a public city agreement or contractor statement: no one has confirmed who handled the installation, nor has Rockstar/Take-Two itself commented. jeuxvideo.com explicitly notes that, unlike Miami, there is no public city consultation here — the choice of spot (private property overlooking the traffic of hundreds of thousands of drivers daily) looks purely commercial.

The spot remains under watch for official confirmation — if a contractor statement appears (as Colossal Media did for Brooklyn) or one from Rockstar itself, the claim will be enriched accordingly.

Second wave from the same IGN interview: optional relationship, more open mission design

The full transcription of the July demo at Rockstar North (“GTA 6: The Big Interview”, IGN, Rachel Weber) continued to be “milked” by dozens of outlets on Wednesday and Thursday — almost all of them republished the same four points the Archive had already logged yesterday (c-226 to c-229). Today we verified two more excerpts directly against the original transcript that hadn't surfaced in the first pass.

The first resolves a question the Bond dossier had left open: what happens if the player ignores the romantic side of Jason and Lucia entirely? Rob Nelson answered that the narrative keeps them “partners in crime” regardless, but the relationship itself is fully optional — “don't engage with it if you're not interested, your choice” (#230). He clarified something important: simply progressing through the campaign together does NOT suffice for the relationship to “work” — it requires a separate investment of time in the open world, through the relationship activities we already logged yesterday.

The second concerns the general mission design philosophy: Nelson spoke of “a very conscious effort to open things up wherever possible, without degrading the quality of the experience” (#231). Example: the mission with Raul has an “optimal” escape route that isn't mandatory — “if you don't follow it, you can still get out”. This isn't a new system, but it confirms that the flexibility we already knew about in specific spots (second exits in heists, switching between driving and shooting) is a general principle, not an exception.

Two more signals from today were checked and add nothing certain: a former Rockstar designer mentioned on a podcast his own pitch for a mission with a pet tiger — with no confirmation it stayed in the final game; and press reports about a nudity scene for Jason remain contradictory (the IGN journalist herself later denied seeing full nudity), with no official Rockstar statement. The Archive does not log either one before clearer documentation exists.

Rockstar reveals the first 6 radio stations of GTA 6

Rockstar opened a new official page today, rockstargames.com/VI/music, dedicated to GTA 6's music — with the ability to listen to samples from the game's first six radio stations (#232). “Cocoteo FM” plays contemporary Latin music hosted by El Martillo (voice: Bad Bunny) and La Gata (voice: RaiNao); “Back Country Radio” brings country to the Grassrivers with MW (Morgan Wallen) and Delta Dawne (Lana Del Rey); “AfroBank FM” celebrates African music/amapiano with Burna (Burna Boy) and Palmsy (Palms Trax); “The Chamber 106.6” is heavy metal with DJ Kerry and DJ Tom — Slayer members Kerry King and Tom Araya; the legendary “Flash FM” returns from Vice City with pop music (Robyn and Alex Consani); and “Dirty South Classics” serves up southern rap/hip-hop with Trick Daddy and Trina.

Each station already has three confirmed songs in the public playlist — 18 total, from Bad Bunny and Black Sabbath to DJ Khaled and Loretta Lynn (full list in our Archive, M8). This is separate from “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” — the 34 original songs written specifically for the game, releasing on 19/11 (already known since 17/9).

According to IGN and several other outlets, Rockstar also confirmed a surprise mechanic: for the first time in the series, radio and new on-demand podcasts will also be heard outside the vehicle — with headphones, via the mobile phone, while the player walks, fights, or explores on foot (#233). Until now, radio was tied to the car or to specific buildings.

The reveal came the same day a new round of leaks (“Cyberleek”, the same leaker from August) released an unofficial ~25-minute gameplay video — the Archive does not publish or link to leaked material, only official sources.

Three new official GTA 6 screenshots — buried in the same music page

Along with the six radio stations (#232), Rockstar also published three new official GTA 6 screenshots on 8/10 — but not on the usual public hub (rockstargames.com/VI/media/screenshots), where our scanner engine looked for them and didn't find them. The press (IGN, Kotaku, Insider Gaming, GameRant) described them in detail, and we located and verified the files ourselves: they live inside the static image package of the new music page (rockstargames.com/VI/music) — same domain, primary source, just a different path from the one we monitor daily (#234).

The first shows a rainy night outside the Ocean View Hotel and the Hotel Dixon: an orange sports car at an intersection, a police car, parked scooters, pedestrians — with strong neon reflections in the puddles that made several viewers question whether it's a real in-game screenshot. The second shows midday traffic on an elevated highway, with a view of the golden dome of the “Vice City Oceanarium” and the Downtown skyline — a variety of vehicles, a boat in the canal alongside, a helicopter and an aircraft in the sky. The third is a nighttime, unofficial car gathering (“car meet”) outside the “Conch King” restaurant — tuned cars with open trunks, people sitting and standing on the street, neighborhood atmosphere.

All three images have now been added to our Collection (gallery) with full source and publication date.

Cardi B and Fuerza Regida: second wave of songs for “GTA VI: The Album”

The official soundtrack album of GTA 6, “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (#192, 34 original songs, Rockstar in partnership with Atlantic Records, full release 19/11), continues to roll out new singles in stages before the final release. After the six simultaneous singles of 17/9, the music press (The Music Universe, Just Jared, Hip Hop Vibe, That Grape Juice) reported on 8/10 two new songs available for streaming: Cardi B with Don't Chart and Fuerza Regida with Suzuki (#235).

The two artists had already left hints: on 7/10 a temporary tracklist leaked on Spotify placing Fuerza Regida at track 10 and Cardi B at track 19 of the album (the listing was soon removed), while Fuerza Regida posted a video with a “VICE CITY” license plate. We haven't yet found a separate Rockstar Newswire/Atlantic Records press release specifically for this second wave — the information remains Solid (music press), not Confirmed, until the primary announcement is found.

Xbox denies it will have streaming exclusivity for GTA 6

The British outlet The Verge published a report today, based on sources close to Microsoft's plans, that Xbox had acquired exclusive cloud streaming rights for GTA 6 at launch on 19 November — making Xbox Cloud Gaming the only streaming service for the game, and opening up incidental access for PC players via streaming, with no native PC version at all at launch.

The news spread immediately across dozens of outlets worldwide. But Matthew Ball himself, Chief Strategy Officer of Xbox (already a source for #198, on pre-orders), responded publicly on X a few hours later: “While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is exceptional, it has also led to some misinformation. We expect GTAVI to launch on XBOX on 19 November, but the game won't stream exclusively, nor on PC” (#222, Confirmed).

The outcome beats the source: Ball's statement concerns his own service, from his own channel — he is the primary authority on Xbox Cloud Gaming, whatever The Verge's original source was. No confirmation or denial came from Rockstar or Take-Two, who have nothing to do with the disagreement — it concerns purely what Xbox offers on its own service.

The full interview: Rob Nelson explicitly says what “counts” for the Jason-Lucia bond

In August, when An Extended Look was released, IGN had published the first impressions from a 30-minute demo at Rockstar North with Rob Nelson, co-studio head and head of development, at the controller. Today, journalist Rachel Weber published the full transcript of that session — “GTA 6: The Big Interview” — and hidden within the pages that hadn't come out at the time were several details the Archive hadn't explicitly recorded.

The most important one: Nelson gave, for the first time, a full and named list of the activities that “count” toward the Jason-Lucia bond (#226) — billiards, mini golf, kayaking, robberies together, held hands, zoo, wildlife study, diving, skydiving, beach walk. Until now the only confirmed example was fishing with Cal; the open question “which activities feed the relationship — all of them or selected ones” officially closes.

Three more details enrich the game's systems: Leonida's NPCs now also passively realize when you eavesdrop on them or follow them for a long time, without you having activated any interaction option (#227)· Jason's Focus also works as a tracker outside combat, in the style of Eagle Eye from Red Dead Redemption 2, beyond the known slow-motion aiming (#228)· and interacting with animals gets a separate “Study” option — a collectible mechanic borrowed from RDR2, independent of hunting (#229).

The LOVE #27 wave continues: Rob Nelson explains when Rockstar “skips realism”, Humphries why Jason's military past isn't a statement

The “squeezing” of the LOVE #27 digital issue (5/10) continued today too, with two more excerpts from the interview reaching the press. Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North (already a source for #216), explained the design philosophy behind the balance of realism and immersion in GTA 6 (#221): “Sometimes things need to feel realistic to help immersion, and conversely, sometimes you need to skip realism in favor of what will be more convenient for the player — excess can become tiresome, so we try to find the right balance”.

The GamesRadar+ journalist noted the irony: the statement comes while the game's already-known fuel-refill mechanic (#117, Solid) is being questioned by fans who fear exactly that — that it will become tiresome.

At the same time, Rupert Humphries, VP of narrative (already a source for #213 and #218), was asked whether Jason's military past is a deliberate reference to failed social mobility (#220): “We didn't want to make any statement with Jason's past — he takes the steps he takes because of his material circumstances, but a lot of that is left for the player to decide whether he has to do it, or whether it's a character choice”. The answer was surprising, since the series has a history of social commentary through its protagonists.

GTA 6 gets painted in Brooklyn — Colossal Media confirms, 22 years after San Andreas

Community photos from early October had already spotted a massive mural under construction at the corner of Wythe Avenue and North 11th Street, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn — exactly the corner that hosted a famous GTA V mural in 2013. Without official confirmation, though, it remained only a signal on the Archive's watch calendar.

Confirmation came from the executor itself: Colossal Media, the New York house that has been hand-painting billboards for decades, announced on its Instagram: “22 years ago we painted our first campaign with our first client, @rockstargames. Two decades later, we're here again for GTA 6” (#223, Solid) — referring to its first work for GTA: San Andreas, in 2004. The mural shows Jason and Lucia, fully hand-painted, with no printed vinyl.

The Brooklyn corner adds to a wider outdoor campaign that has already reached Miami (#183) — and, according to an unconfirmed signal from a French fan site (via gtaboom, 6-7/10), now Paris too, with a massive ad on the Périphérique ring road near Porte de Bagnolet. The Paris signal stays outside the Archive until vendor or official confirmation — the same pattern that closed today for Brooklyn.

Rockstar opens up: how GTA 6 is made, why it avoids political satire, and who wrote Lucia

Rob Nelson, co-head of Rockstar North, described in an extensive report (#216) how the game is built: in 8-week “milestone” cycles, “one obsessive day at a time, correcting course along the way”. James Horton, open-world script director — a new name for the Archive — revealed that Rockstar opened a dedicated “writers' room” in Los Angeles exclusively for passerby NPC dialogue, so that thousands of Leonida's residents would have their own character.

In the digital issue LOVE #27 released today, Aaron Garbut described the research trips in Florida (#217): “We travel with police officers and with gang members. Everyone is great” — a deep dive into Miami's contrasts of wealth and poverty that built the world's diversity.

Rupert Humphries, VP of narrative (already a source for #213), explained why GTA 6 avoids satirizing specific politicians or events (#218): with 13 years between two releases, anything too specific risks looking dated by the time it launches — they prefer “slanted, exaggerated versions” of reality.

Finally, screenwriter Alexa D'Agostino revealed that she drew inspiration for Lucia from women she knows personally — her mother was an immigrant who grew up in Newark, New Jersey (#219): “When you focus on writing a fully realized character, you end up with something imperfectly perfect — clichéd, yet undeniably true”. In the same excerpt she went on with a comparison that stood out in the international press in the following days (#224): that's how you create “a woman who can stand tall alongside figures like Arthur Morgan [Red Dead Redemption 2] and Niko Bellic [GTA IV]”.

PEGI goes final — and Rockstar explains why Jason and Lucia are deliberately flawed

The European PEGI rating system finalized GTA 6's classification at #027: the PlayStation Store Greece now shows a plain “PEGI 18” with descriptors for Drugs, Sexual Content, Extreme Violence, Nudity, In-Game Purchases — without the “Provisional” tag that was still there on 1/10. The American ESRB Mature 17+ had closed two days earlier, so both major rating systems have now published their final verdict.

Meanwhile, the British magazine LOVE announced issue 27 (out 5/10) with an exclusive interview with Rockstar executives on the two protagonists (#213). Rupert Humphries, SVP of Narrative, describes the game's world as “a pressure cooker for every kind of delusion” — a deliberately exaggerated version of today's reality.

Writer Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern explains the logic behind the two protagonists: “They wanted both characters to be vulnerable, tough, flawed — right sometimes, wrong other times, able to learn from each other”. Jason is described as a character who reacts to circumstances, while Lucia takes initiative and controls her own path — a contrast that builds on the already-known Bonnie & Clyde-type duo (#009).

A PEGI page briefly revealed much rawer content details for GTA 6 — then it was removed

On 2 October, as the European rating system PEGI finalized the simple “PEGI 18” rating for GTA 6 (#027), its site briefly displayed a much more detailed content description page (#214). According to screenshots circulated on X before it was removed, the page described violence that was “bloody with a high degree of realism” — with explicit mention of decapitation and dismemberment — and “frequent and intense” drug use, with the player able to carry and “snort” cocaine from their stash at any time.

The same page also referenced sexual content: nudity, sex scenes, occasional scenes of sexual fetish, and the ability for the player to pay for private dances at nightclubs. The page was removed shortly after and now shows “not found” — no official statement from Rockstar or PEGI. Because there is no longer a live URL for anyone to confirm it directly, the information remains Solid (multiple independent press coverage) rather than Confirmed — the simple, live “PEGI 18” rating remains the only officially confirmed status.

Rockstar president pulled out of 4-year GTA VI interview — Nelson and Garbut step up

GQ journalist Sam White announced that the exclusive interview with Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games, about GTA VI was cancelled — even though its preparation had been underway for four years and had been confirmed in April 2026. The company cited “personal reasons”, without further explanation (#215).

In Houser's place, Rob Nelson and Aaron Garbut — co-heads of Rockstar North — are taking over as the company's main spokespeople in interviews about GTA VI. This explains why the most recent executive statements to the press (Game Informer, LOVE magazine) are coming from these two and not from the historically secretive Houser. Multiple independent press coverage confirms the fact, all referencing the same posts by the GQ journalist — no explicit statement from Rockstar itself or GQ yet.

The Miami Heat become “Vice City”: an entire NBA arena transforms for GTA 6

The Miami HEAT announced today, together with Rockstar Games, an unprecedented partnership: on November 18 — the eve of GTA 6's release — the NBA team will play as “Vice City” hosting the Milwaukee Bucks at the Kaseya Center in Miami (#212). The arena will be fully transformed into Vice City, with a special court design and a brand-new jersey never worn before — something no American sports team has ever done for a video game title on this scale.

The game will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN and locally on Local 10 in South Florida, with “live elements and programming” dedicated to GTA 6 inside the stadium. As of today, a “Vice City” clothing collection (Court Culture line) is already available at Miami HEAT stores and online at MiamiHeatStore.com — the first visible product of the partnership.

The announcement explicitly links two threads that the Archive had been tracking separately: the illuminated “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center (#183), which lit up fully on the night of 1 October, was in fact the first phase of this larger campaign — not a separate, standalone event. Both sides say they will share more details in the coming weeks via the official HEAT.com/ViceCity page.

The move comes just days after the official ESRB Mature rating (#027) and in the same week that the press has been heavily covering new screenshots and gameplay details — a sign that the launch marketing campaign is now moving into a public, mass-market stage beyond the gaming press.

Dan Houser is deliberately avoiding GTA 6 material

In a podcast interview with Variety (reported 2/10 via Kotaku), Dan Houser — former head writer at Rockstar, co-founder who left in 2020 and now head of his own company Absurd Ventures — revealed that he hasn't even seen GTA 6's Extended Look (#263): “I will try and avoid it, because I always try to avoid things that will distract or disrupt me creatively”.

The logic: he doesn't want to compare his own work with that of his former team, nor let Rockstar's choices influence his own two open-world games in development. He says he generally avoids playing many open-world titles from other studios, because he can “deconstruct” a team's strengths and weaknesses analytically in real time — something that distracts him creatively rather than inspiring him. Houser left Rockstar in 2020 after nearly 25 years, having written the scripts for GTA III through GTA V and both Red Dead Redemption games.

Game Informer day three: no Disney World, key money in missions, field research in bars and nightclubs

Three days after the full digital issue of Game Informer, details keep emerging through journalists who read it. Paul MacPherson, VP of Environment Art at Rockstar, was asked about Orlando (Disney World) and NASA's space center at Cape Canaveral — he answered that “while we may not have those exact locations, everything we do have is built to give the full Florida experience” (#207). Rockstar did not explicitly name the theme parks — the reading “there will be no Disney World” is the Press's interpretation based on the question asked, which is why the Archive keeps it Solid, not Confirmed.

New detail on the Heists system: money “matters more than ever” — some story missions don't unlock simply because you completed the previous ones, but because you've reached a certain level of current income (#208). It partly clarifies an old open question from the Lab: key amounts appear to adjust to the player's money, not fixed numbers — though it's not clear whether this applies to all heists or broader missions.

Rupert Humphries, VP of Narrative (already known from #204), described the field-research method: the team traveled repeatedly to Florida over the years, visited bars, nightclubs and strip clubs, took night walks through neighborhoods with former police officers, and explored swamps and the Florida Keys — all paid for by Rockstar as part of the work on the game (#209). Game Informer's full “Welcome to Leonida” article remains behind a paywall — the Archive continues to track secondary excerpts.

Rockstar explains why the story doesn't cover all of Leonida: we don't have time to take you everywhere

In the same series of Game Informer interviews where he talked about the field research in Florida (#209), Rupert Humphries explained why the main story of GTA 6 doesn't tour the player through every corner of Leonida: they don't have time to show everything, but they want the player to be able to explore and get a sense of most places, the cultures, the climate (#210).

Aaron Garbut, co-director of Rockstar North and already a source for the map size (#029 — double that of GTA V, the largest the company has ever built), added that the team obsessed over every piece — the rooftops, the alleys, the interiors, and everything in between.

The statement doesn't change the map size — it confirms it again — but adds design logic: Rockstar considers independent exploration part of the experience, not content you miss if you stick only to the story.

GTA 6 officially gets Mature 17+ — Rockstar itself published the full content descriptors

The official rockstargames.com/VI page now shows a full ESRB “Mature” rating sign, with all the content descriptors: blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, use of drugs and alcohol — along with a separate “in-game purchases” notice (#027). Until today, the only official spot read “rating pending” — this is the first time Rockstar itself has published a full content list.

The information was confirmed by a direct check of Rockstar's page and circulated the same day across multiple outlets (GameRant, ScreenRant, TwistedVoxel, several local IGN editions) — all cite the same page as the source, not their own assessment. The ESRB's own search database does not yet have a separate listing for the game, and the English PlayStation Store page remains on the old “pending” — a simple update lag between channels, not a contradiction.

In Europe, the PlayStation Store (checked on the Greece page) now shows “PEGI Provisional 18” — an upgrade from the complete blank of the 7 September check, but still not the final listing in the PEGI database itself.

The “in-game purchases” notice does not conflict with what's already known: Rockstar has explicitly said there are no microtransactions inside the single-player story (#089) — the overall rating covers the product as a whole, likely with an eye on GTA Online.

Arrest in Amsterdam over Rockstar hack that exposed GTA Online revenue

Dutch police (DNP) arrested 24-year-old Pepijn van der Stap in Amsterdam on 28/9, former head of offensive cybersecurity at the company Neo Security. The FBI names him as one of the leading figures of the well-known group ShinyHunters since 2025 (#211).

He is accused of involvement in the Rockstar data breach of April 2026, which revealed confidential financial data (revenue) of GTA Online. This is a DIFFERENT episode from the GTA 6 video material leak in August (the CyberLeek serial, #093) — the two are not connected in reports so far.

The Archive logs this as part of the broader security picture around GTA 6 (Rockstar measures following extortion attempts, #181) — we're watching for further connections or charges.

Game Informer's full digital issue is out: the map officially double the size, a new weather system, 170+ animal species

On 29 September, Game Informer published the full digital issue 382, with the cover story “Welcome to Leonida” (#197) landing right on schedule — despite dozens of headlines writing “confirmed” hours before the article itself went live. The issue officially named Leonida's six regions (#203): Vice City (fully rebuilt and bigger), Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga and Ambrosia — exactly the classification the Archive was already using on the Map of Truth based on community mapping.

Aaron Garbut, Rockstar's development lead, confirmed that the map is officially double the size of GTA V's — the largest the studio has ever built, “by a lot” (#029, upgraded from fans' “1.5-2 times” rumor). Owen Shepherd, VP of lighting and rendering art, described a redesigned weather system — more local and persistent, with dynamic cloudscapes that “roll” across the map, tropical storms and hurricanes true to Florida (#201).

Michael Kane, vice president of dynamic art, spoke about over 170 species of animals on land, in the air and at sea — native ones like flamingos, manatees and alligators, and invasive ones like iguanas and macaque monkeys, with animals sorted into three detection tiers (#202). Rupert Humphries, vice president of narrative, gave the first named statement about the story's thematic backdrop: “rich and poor side by side”, with crime and corruption uniting the characters (#204). The issue also documented new activities — mini golf, kayaking, diving, base jumping and more (#205).

Why the first four statements went in as Confirmed: they are direct words from named Rockstar executives, cited explicitly within the issue — not journalist interpretation. The structure of the six regions and the list of activities remain Solid as long as they aren't accompanied by an explicit executive statement. Cross-check: Video Games Chronicle, Insider Gaming, Dexerto, GamingBolt — all explicitly reference the same Game Informer issue.

Sony opens PS5 Pro lottery in Japan with 60-hour play requirement

Sony Interactive Entertainment opened purchase applications for the PS5 Pro (2TB, ¥137,980) on 28 September via its own Sony Store in Japan — a separate channel from regular retail stores (#206). To apply, you need a registered Japanese Sony account with at least 60 cumulative hours of PS4/PS5 play within the last two years — a measure that, according to Sony, aims to keep stock away from resellers and tourists, not away from players.

Applications close on 7 October; if they exceed available stock, a lottery follows with results from 26 October and shipments early-mid November — meaning possibly shortly before or around the release of GTA VI on 19/11, without this being guaranteed or a stated goal of Sony's.

Sony's own official page does not mention GTA VI anywhere — the connection is made by the foreign press due to timing, not by Sony. This is a different event from the PS5 Pro sold-out in the US in August (#112) — different country, different mechanism: there, simple retail stock exhaustion; here, an organized lottery with a play requirement from Sony itself.

GTA VI on the Game Informer cover — 14 pages, 12 new screenshots, the full article drops 29/9

Game Informer announced on 25 September that GTA VI is the cover story of issue 382: a 14-page article with 12 exclusive screenshots, written by Marcus Stewart — senior associate editor and a longtime resident of South Florida — who spoke with several of Rockstar's lead designers (#197). The cover shows Jason and Lucia inside a car with guns, in yet another stylized image of the duo.

Game Informer previewed three topics the full article will cover: an advanced weather system built to simulate Florida's less sunny phenomena, “a massive amount of wildlife” — land, air, sea — within Leonida, and how Rockstar researched Miami and Florida to build “the most culturally and aesthetically accurate and vivid world to date”.

Note the distinction: the cover-reveal article itself doesn't yet contain direct quotes from Rockstar — only the promise of them. The Archive logs this for now as Solid (the announcement is real and official from the magazine itself) and will revisit it on 29/9, when the full digital edition with the interviews goes live — a possible upgrade to Confirmed if it contains direct Rockstar statements about specific features.

The collector's edition poster gave away island names — and Rockstar erased them within the day

The “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” collector's edition (#196) includes a double-sided poster: the front a comic-style illustration of Vice City, the back a map of the state. In the first product image uploaded to the store on 24 September, users on X noticed on the western part of the map a cluster of four islands with labels — two whole, “Sandbars” and “Crude Islands”, and two cut off starting with “Dra” and “Beld” (#200).

Within a few hours Rockstar replaced the image. The new version (the store file is now named “V02”, dated 25 September) shows the same island outlines with no names at all. There was no statement. Dexerto, TheGamer and Notebookcheck documented the correction with comparison images; TheGamer also noted a small island at the top of the map that wasn't present in August's leaked map — with the counterpoint that a stylized poster isn't necessarily one-to-one with the game.

Why the Archive keeps it Solid and not Confirmed: the names appeared on an official channel, but Rockstar itself pulled them — it's not an official name until it resurfaces. On the Truth Map a regional pin without a fixed location went up (the islands are on the west coast, the poster doesn't triangulate), and the official poster image went into the Album.

The official Collector's Edition is here — $399.99, 11 items, WITHOUT the game

Rockstar opened pre-orders on its own store on September 24 for the “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” (#196) — $399.99, inspired by the in-game TV show “Macca the Gator” that plays inside the game itself. The box includes 11 items: a Macca the Gator figure with a hidden storage compartment, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses, a “Leonida Keys” shoulder bag, a New Era 9FORTY cap, a magnetic mini mirror, a shot glass, a stirring spoon, a razor-shaped keychain, a set of 9 pins in a metal tin, a set of 9 stickers, and a double-sided poster with the map of Leonida.

The most important thing for anyone confusing it with a “special edition of the game”: it does NOT include a copy of GTA VI. It's purely merchandise — the only ways to get the game itself remain the Standard and Ultimate editions, both code-in-box. Delivery is set for 19 November, limit one unit per customer, with pre-orders open immediately in North America and Europe (Asia, Latin America and Australia follow later). It is not yet available for shipping to Greece.

The announcement definitively debunks a two-month-old rumored scenario: in June a retailer leak surfaced for a collector's edition at ~$229, and on 9/9 an X account claimed to have worked on a black box packaging called “Vice City Leonida” (#031). Neither rumor was ever confirmed by an outlet or by Rockstar — and the actual product turned out to be completely different: different price, different contents, no connection to a “black box” or to the game itself being included.

Xbox responds to pre-order reporting: “matching our share of the console market”

The Verge reported that GTA VI pre-orders skew heavily toward PlayStation 5, citing anonymous sources inside Xbox — a Sensor Tower estimate put the ratio above 3:1 in favor of PS5. Matthew Ball, Xbox's Chief Strategy Officer, responded publicly on X on 24 September, addressing journalist Tom Warren (#198): “Tom, we are very happy with GTA VI pre-orders. The title is breaking records for XBOX, we expect even more records will be broken throughout the fall, and our internal analysis shows our share of pre-orders to be matching our share of the console market.”

The fact has an owner: pre-order share on its own platform is an internal Xbox metric, so the statement gets logged as Official — but watch what it does NOT say. Ball gave no percentage or number, only a comparison to Xbox's overall console market share, which remains smaller than PS5's worldwide. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella commented on Bluesky that, given that market share, it would be hard for anyone to “brag” about it.

In plain terms: the statement confirms that Xbox is internally satisfied, but it neither confirms nor denies the actual number behind The Verge's reporting on the PS5/Xbox ratio.

New official artwork: Jason and Lucia on the Vice City beach — and the Album cover

Four new images appeared in the Artwork & Wallpapers section of Rockstar's official hub, without a separate announcement. The first is “Jason and Lucia — Beach” (#199): Jason holds Lucia in his arms on a beach, gun resting on his shoulder, and behind them the Vice City skyline stretches out — a Ferris wheel, palm trees, pelicans, a pink-orange sunset. The second is the cover of “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” (#192), with the pair leaning against a purple car full of bullet holes. Both were uploaded on 17 September, the day the album was announced.

On 24 September, two more were added: the beach image with the game's logos, and a clean, logo-free version of the earlier “Robbery”. The Pulse spotted them by comparing the hub with the Archive, downloaded them at 1600 pixels, and added them to the World — on Jason's and Lucia's cards — and to the Album, with source and publication date. This is the first new official material since the 108 screenshots of 31 August.

A distinction we're keeping: the artwork on the cover of Game Informer #382 (#197) — the pair inside a red car full of bullet holes, which Vice described as a “continuation” of the Album cover — is material distributed by the magazine, not Rockstar. It hasn't been uploaded to the hub, so it doesn't go into the Archive as an official image until Rockstar itself distributes it. The full Game Informer article goes live digitally on 29 September.

The “Welcome to Vice City” sign went up on the roof of the Kaseya Center — by helicopter

The sign that Miami-Dade County had already signed off on with Rockstar (#183) went from plan to reality on 22 September: crews built the pink-and-white letters in sections on the ground, and a helicopter lifted them one by one onto the roof of the Kaseya Center, overlooking Miami's bay.

The final structure is about 4,700 square feet — large enough to be legible even from the air, for those landing at Miami International Airport. The cost of the fit-out campaign was confirmed at ~$975,000, close to the initial ~$1 million estimate revealed at the county meeting on 18/9.

The confirmation came from multiple sources — CBS News Miami, GTA BOOM, ReadDork, Forbes — with no conflicting details. A separate matter from the banners in downtown Miami (#180) and the Miami Beach agreement (#179) — three different government entities, three separate agreements.

Miami-Dade County already signed the “Welcome to Vice City” deal — and commissioners were the last to know

On September 11 the Archive recorded a “Vice City” sign on the roof of the Kaseya Center, home arena of the Miami Heat, as a private agreement between the arena's management and Take-Two (#183). Miami-Dade County's night budget session on 18/9 revealed something different: it's an official contract of the county itself with Rockstar, worth approximately $1 million, already signed by mayor Daniella Levine Cava under her authority to sign contracts under one million without council approval.

The sign will read “Welcome to Vice City (VI)” and may remain there until 2028. The revenue is earmarked for developing a plot of land behind the arena that had long been promised as a park for the community.

Several commissioners said they learned of the deal through the session, not through an official briefing. Juan Carlos Bermudez proposed that the revenue go to the sheriff's office instead, saying the game “glorifies crime” — but he withdrew the proposal after the administration committed to briefing the council before the next session. The commissioner for the district where the arena is located, Keon Hardemon, said he already knew and agrees.

Ongoing discussions were also reported — not yet agreements — for a “Vice City Airport”-type naming at Miami's airport and a Metromover car wrap themed around the game. The Archive will record these only if and when they're signed. A separate matter from the downtown Miami banners (#180, final vote 24/9) and the Miami Beach deal (#179).

Official: “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” arrives 19 November with 34 songs

The chain of teasers from recent days has now been fully explained: on 17 September Rockstar announced on its own Newswire, in partnership with Atlantic Records, “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” — 34 original songs inspired by Vice City and Leonida, releasing on 19 November, the same day as the game (#192).

The nine artists who had teased artwork on 15/9 (#190) are now officially confirmed: Travis Scott with “RHYNO” (produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk), Yung Lean with “That's It” (feat. Future & Metro Boomin), Morgan Wallen with “Last Thing You Need”, Rauw Alejandro with “Macacoa 2000”, Keith Richards with a cover of “Bright Lights, Big City”, and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress on “Sexy Magic” — which additionally features, confirmed for the first time, Fred again.. and Étienne de Crécy. These six songs were released immediately as the first singles on all major streaming services.

The Spotify billboards in Los Angeles, New York and Miami (#191) were groundwork for this exact announcement — the album is available on all major platforms, with no exclusive Spotify deal.

The album is also releasing in physical copies: CD 19.98 dollars, vinyl 49.98 dollars, and a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl at 124.98 dollars — pre-orders already open, shipping from 20 November. No Greek availability has been found yet for the physical copies.

Take-Two's AGM revealed: 13 languages in GTA 6 (no Greek) and continuation of GTA Online

Take-Two's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 17 September, which yesterday's Archive described as “procedural” with no expected new information, ultimately brought two concrete answers through statements from CEO Strauss Zelnick.

First, GTA 6 will support 13 languages at launch — English (with full dubbing), French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Chinese (Simp./Trad.) and Spanish/Portuguese — the exact same list as GTA V. Greek is not included, nor are Turkish, Arabic or Hindi, despite fan campaigns (#193).

Second, asked about the future of GTA Online after GTA 6's release, Zelnick answered that he has “every reason to believe” Rockstar will continue to support it — confirming that the existing GTA Online (from GTA V) does not disappear with GTA 6's launch, which remains a purely single-player experience (#194). He also commented that the PC platform is “becoming increasingly important” for the company — with no date or commitment for a PC version of GTA 6.

Spotify put up GTA 6 billboards in three US cities — with no official explanation

On 16 September —one day after the simultaneous social media teasers from nine artists (#190)— physical billboards with the same GTA 6 artwork appeared in Los Angeles, New York and Miami, this time bearing the Spotify logo (#191).

Neither Spotify nor Rockstar have officially explained exactly what this collaboration is — but the combination of a top music platform, dozens of globally reaching artists, and physical billboards in three major cities points toward a bigger soundtrack announcement before the November release.

The Archive keeps the Solid label — the photographic documentation is indisputable (multiple independent outlets in the same three cities), but neither company has spoken through its own official channel.

Nine artists tease GTA 6 soundtrack — without official Rockstar confirmation

On September 15, nine artists —Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones— posted almost simultaneously cropped pieces of official GTA 6 artwork on their own X/Instagram accounts, tagging @rockstargames (#190). Travis Scott wrote, translated: “Now is the time. My return to the game... See you soon @rockstargames” over an image with purple high heels; Keith Richards posted an iguana; Future, Metro Boomin and Yung Lean shared the same artwork of a purple car with a Leonida license plate.

It is the first time musical names have been publicly linked to the game's soundtrack beyond the already-identified tracks from the Extended Look and the trailers (#018). No one revealed a song or title — for now, this is participation in a coordinated artwork campaign, not confirmed tracks.

Rockstar itself has not posted or announced anything on its own Newswire or official channel — which is why the Archive keeps the label Solid, not Confirmed: the source is the artists themselves, not the company. It will be upgraded if Rockstar officially names radio stations or songs.

Stephen Root confirms: he plays Brian Heder in GTA 6

At the BAFTA TV Tea Party, actor Stephen Root publicly confirmed that he plays Brian Heder in GTA 6 — an old dealer in the Leonida Keys and Jason's landlord, already a known face of the Archive (Brian Heder). “You'll see me in there,” he said, translated — adding that he believes his character had been in Rockstar's material for almost a year now, and that plenty of people already recognized him from his voice in King of the Hill (#187).

Root is known from series such as Barry and King of the Hill, with an Emmy nomination this year for Widow's Bay. He's the first actor to openly confirm, himself, his own role in GTA 6 — separate from the leaks and journalistic investigations so far around who plays Jason and Lucia (#024).

Rockstar hasn't officially announced a cast list — as always, the Archive keeps the label Solid not Confirmed, because the statement is the actor's own and not the company's.

Day 2 of the trial: “watch list” after a petition, informant for 2.5 years, drones at the windows

Second day at the Glasgow Employment Tribunal (#171): the dismissed Dayne Oram, an IWGB member who had taken part in creating the Discord channel used by the ~300 workers, testified that a petition for remote working (spring 2023, around 150 signatures, 15-20 union members) became, in his words, “the basis of a watch list” for those the company considered to be engaged in “conduct deemed inappropriate”. About two and a half years passed between the petition and the October 2025 dismissals.

Rockstar denies it entirely: “Individuals in the United Kingdom and Canada were dismissed for serious misconduct following the disclosure of confidential company information, not because of alleged union membership or activity”. The same day it emerged that the company had its own informant inside the channel for over two and a half years, feeding it information about the members — their identity was not disclosed.

At the same trial, Rockstar also described why it considers confidentiality around GTA 6 so serious (#181): drones were used to try to “spy on” developers through office windows — the company responded by putting protective film on some windows — and hacker groups attempted extortion by threatening leaks “in the last few weeks”.

Everything remains parties' allegations in an open trial before Judge Lucy Wiseman — no verdict has been reached. The hearing is expected to last around five weeks.

A leak, a real resort: “We will not pay, nor will we negotiate”

The Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, suddenly found itself at the center of a story it had never asked for: GTA 6 fans identified it with a resort that appears in leaked material from the game, and started leaving fake reviews on its Google page — references to names and scenes from the leak, written as if they had really happened there (#182).

The problem turned serious when, according to the resort, the fake reviews came with a demand for payment to have them removed or changed. The owner labeled the posts “SPAM/EXTORTION REVIEW” — “a coordinated series of fabricated posts” — and responded publicly, no room for doubt: “We will not pay, nor will we negotiate”.

The Archive does not describe the content of the leak itself and does not link to it anywhere (leak policy: text only) — the only thing recorded here is the real event: an actual small business faced harassment and an extortion attempt because of the popularity of a game that hasn't even been released yet. A good reminder, as 19 November approaches: enthusiasm is no excuse.

Florida Governor responds to GTA 6: “Be careful with some of that”

The marketing campaign around GTA 6 in real-world Miami (#179, #169) has now also taken on a political dimension: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis publicly commented, telling citizens “be careful with some of that” — not all of it will be as accurate as Scarface compared to today's South Florida (#186).

DeSantis dismissed the '70s-'80s image that still colors Miami for some, saying the city has flourished under his own governance and is now the envy of most parts of the US, citing low crime rates.

Separate, but related, to the statement by Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez on 3/9, which also objected to temporary Vice City signage at Miami's airport (MIA) — “Miami-Dade County is not Vice City”.

The trial began: a “Room C” channel and a former employee's response

The full hearing over the firing of 31 Rockstar employees (#171) opened on Thursday, 10 September at the Glasgow Employment Tribunal. In the company's testimony, the confidential channel it cites was a private Discord called “Room C”, with over 300 members — where, according to Rockstar, “former employees, competitors and one journalist” also took part, and game features were openly discussed.

Former QA employee Jack Hoxby, 29, publicly denied both allegations: he said the channel was a union space, with union members and staff, set up for organizing workers — “that's what we'll maintain” — and that no confidential information leaked from there.

Outside the court, the IWGB union held a rally. Fired worker Jason Lewis said: “For almost a year, the truth about what happened to us was buried... now we finally get the chance to put it on the record officially”. Programmer Rachel Crawford spoke about fear in the workplace: “Today we're fighting fear”. The hearing is expected to last around five weeks.

The number of claimants is reported differently across sources — sometimes as 31, sometimes as 34 — possibly the difference between UK+Canada combined versus only the active claimants in the trial; this hasn't been officially clarified yet. No verdict has been reached.

Rumor

Court documents revealed a number: “32-player” online

In the same court documents from the Glasgow trial (#171), a detail about the game itself emerged: two employees allegedly discussed a “32-player” online format in a private channel. Rockstar characterized it as one of the company's most tightly guarded secrets, comparing it to “Apple protecting the iPhone or Coca-Cola its formula” (#176).

Why we're keeping it as a Rumor: the number didn't come from a Rockstar announcement about the game, but from a private staff discussion revealed through legal proceedings — essentially a leak. Rockstar itself only confirmed that sensitive information leaked, not its contents as a final design.

Worth noting: the “32” matches exactly the known GTA Online lobby cap in GTA V (30 active players + 2 spectator slots) — there's a chance it's simply the same reference number and not something new. GTA 6 remains officially single-player, with no online mode announcement (#8).

Miami Beach voted 4-3: “VI” on beach loungers, not public buildings

The Miami Beach city council voted 4-3 on September 10 to authorize the city manager to negotiate a marketing agreement with Rockstar around the launch — it is not yet a final contract (#179).

The idea: discreet “VI”/Vice City branding on the umbrellas and loungers managed by private operator Boucher Brothers on the beach — explicitly NOT on lifeguard stands or other public buildings. The amount under negotiation ranges $3-4 million, with a possible destination being the renovation of Flamingo Park. The campaign window: October 15 to December 31, around the 19/11 launch.

The discussion on the council was heated: some members contrasted the “hot coffee” episode from an older GTA with the new revenue, others reminded that it's a video game, not a real-world incitement. A quote (“we're not handing out guns and cocaine”) circulated in news headlines but it wasn't confirmed exactly who said it — the Archive does not attribute it to a specific person.

A separate matter from the already known Miami-Dade county discussion (#169) and from a second banner proposal in downtown Miami being considered at the same time.

Downtown Miami considers six GTA 6 banners at $202,000-208,000 each

Miami city commissioner Damian Pardo (District 2) brought a proposal to the September 10 meeting to temporarily relax signage rules in a defined downtown zone (from NE 5th Street to the Miami River), allowing up to six banners from Rockstar/Take-Two around the GTA 6 launch (#180).

The application fee: approximately $202,000-208,000 per banner (~$1.2 million total), with proceeds earmarked for the Underdeck Heritage Trail park. The window proposed is October 15 to December 31 (up to 56 days) and requires the consent of neighboring property owners' associations.

It is a separate process from the already-voted Miami Beach measure (#179) and from the Miami-Dade county discussion (#169) — three different bodies, three different proposals around the same inspiration-city. The Pardo proposal has no recorded vote yet; it awaits a first and second reading before it formally takes effect.

Rockstar published official Mod Guidelines — blocks story extension, allows multiplayer modding only through its own Creator Platform

Rockstar added a “Mod Guidelines” page (#195) to the community resources section of its official site, putting in writing what's allowed for the mod community — for all of its games, GTA VI included. Explicitly banned are mods that extend the official plot, missions or characters, as well as unofficial ports to consoles/platforms where Rockstar never released its game — evidently targeting the well-known unofficial ports of older GTA titles to Switch, Wii, GameCube and iPhone.

The most important part for GTA 6's future: multiplayer modding is restricted exclusively to Rockstar's official Creator Platform — meaning communities like FiveM/RP have no official path outside of it. The Archive had already issued a Cap on the rumor of RP servers “from day one” (#046) based on GTA 5's history; the new page doesn't change that conclusion, but shows for the first time that Rockstar doesn't rule out RP long-term — it just wants it exclusively through its own, controlled channel.

The page appears to have been live already since 10 September, but went relatively unnoticed until 19-21/9, when outlets like GTA BOOM and TheGamer spotted it and the mod community reacted to the strict terms around monetization (non-commercial modding outside the Creator Platform, explicit ban on crypto/NFTs/loot boxes/gambling).

New malware campaign: fake GTA 6 ISOs with two RATs and a file “destroyer”

Security firm Huntress published research on 9 September on a new scam campaign around GTA 6 (#177): fake disc files (ISOs) are being distributed through poisoned search results, forums, social media and torrent sites, promising a “leaked” version of the game.

The user who runs the fake installer (“gta6installer.exe”, with Russian messages about an “unlicensed build”) gets infected with two remote access tools (NJRAT, DCRAT — keylogging, camera, full machine control), a data stealer (Discord tokens, Chrome passwords, Windows keys), and a variant of the Chaos ransomware used not for a ransom but as a file destroyer: it encrypts the smaller ones and writes random data over the larger ones.

A different and heavier package than the previous campaign recorded by Malwarebytes in August (#120). The reminder stays the same: no playable version of GTA 6 exists before 19 November — anything downloaded today under that name is a scam.

What time it unlocks: the two stores show 19 November 00:00 for Greece

Until today the Archive held midnight as an assumption: the countdown clock on the homepage counted towards 19 November 00:00, with an explicit note that the unlock time has not been announced. The assumption now has a record behind it.

We read the data of the two stores directly — not press reports. The PlayStation Store on its Greek storefront states a release time of 2026-11-18T22:00:00Z. In November Greece is on UTC+2, so that is exactly 19 November, 00:00 Greek time. The Microsoft Store gives the same number for the Xbox Series X|S version. Two independent stores, same time (#170).

The same pattern everywhere we looked: United Kingdom 19/11 00:00 UTC, Germany midnight Central European time, US midnight Eastern, Mexico last. Meaning GTA 6 does not open at the same moment across the planet: it rolls with the time zones, with New Zealand first and Mexico roughly 19 hours later.

Two things to hold on to. First: your time is decided by your account country, not by where you are. Second: this is scheduled store availability, not a Rockstar announcement — it can change. That's why the entry is Solid and not Confirmed, and that's why we'll look at it again as 12 November approaches, when preload opens (#19).

Two months before launch, Rockstar goes to an employment tribunal in Glasgow

In October 2025 Rockstar dismissed 31 employees in Britain. According to the union's testimony, those who were in the office were called into meetings, were told they were fired on the spot and were escorted out of the building; those who were away learned it in phone calls of about two minutes and were then locked out of their accounts.

The reason the company invoked was the sharing of confidential information in a private union Discord channel. The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) argues the opposite: that the dismissals targeted union activity, that no disciplinary procedure was followed and no right of appeal was given, and that the company compiled lists of names in order to discriminate against them — what in British employment tribunals is called blacklisting.

Rockstar's position, translated: “Individuals in the United Kingdom and Canada were dismissed for gross misconduct after sharing confidential company information, not because of alleged union membership or activity”. In June 2026 the tribunal rejected the company's request to strike out the blacklisting claims — so those will be examined too.

The full hearing begins on Thursday 10 September at the Glasgow Employment Tribunal and is scheduled to run until mid-October (#171). GTA 6 is developed in Edinburgh and releases on 19 November: the trial will run alongside the final two months before launch. No verdict has come down — everything written here is the claims of the two sides.

The blurred Leonida: Rockstar replaced the Extended Look in China with a censored version

Rockstar uploaded the regular version of “An Extended Look” to its official channel on Bilibili, the big Chinese video platform. On 31 August it replaced it with another one: blurs over lit cigarettes, bloodied bodies, revealing clothes and provocative dancing.

The second half, the nightlife one, is almost unrecognizable — in one shot Jason walks through a crowd blurred in its entirety. This is not a blanket policy, though: on Rockstar's own site inside China the video plays uncensored, with Chinese subtitles. The difference is the platform, not the country.

Rockstar has not explained why — that is why the record stays Solid, not Confirmed. The video the Archive shows, and the one all our own seek links point to, is the international, uncensored version.

Miami hesitates to become Vice City — sheriff and judges against the campaign

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava pitched Rockstar a campaign around the launch: Vice City branding on the Metromover, murals on public buildings, even manhole covers with the logo — aiming at revenue from player tourism. The idea did not pass quietly.

Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz responded publicly: “At a time when law enforcement works every day to reduce violence, to prevent robberies and car thefts and to build relationships with communities, I believe we must think seriously about what message we send when our own government promotes a fictional identity built on exactly those crimes.” Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez agreed; chief judge Ariana Fajardo asked in writing that every court building be excluded.

The county admits to “some discussions with Rockstar about possible opportunities around the launch”, but insists that “nothing has been agreed or officially approved” (#169). Rockstar has not said a word. That is why the record stays Solid: it is reporting and public statements, not a decision.

Why it matters to us: it is the first time the real city behind Vice City is publicly debating whether it wants to become its set design. The question is not an advertising one — it is about what a city says about itself.

Fake “leaked copy” of GTA 6 drains crypto wallets

A Malwarebytes investigation identified a page that looks like an innocent fan countdown for GTA 6 — correct release date, map images, gameplay information — but offers a supposed “leaked copy” of the game for $50 or 1 SOL (about $102) (#162).

Nothing downloads: the theft code activates the moment the visitor connects their wallet. Two separate mechanisms run in parallel — one for Solana that transfers almost the entire balance instantly, and a heavier one for Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base and Fantom, which either drains the wallet on the spot or extracts permission to later take tokens and entire NFT collections.

A different campaign from the fake “demo” sites with the Vidar infostealer that steal passwords (#120) — here the target is assets directly. The rule remains simple: GTA 6 is not playable and not sold anywhere before 19 November, and no legitimate access to a game ever asks you to “connect a wallet”.

“Peekhole”: the fictional OnlyFans parody hiding in a GTA 6 poster

Almost two months after the premiere of “An Extended Look” (27/8), two independent outlets —PlayStationLifestyle and ComicBook.com— spotted (23/10) a detail that had gone unnoticed: outside the strip club Jack of Hearts (pin-20, Boobie Ike's club) there's a “Make It Rain Mondays” poster with a QR code for an app named “Peekhole” (#287).

The app's logo explicitly echoes the logo the real OnlyFans used between 2016 and 2021 — the satire leaves no doubt about which platform it's parodying. ComicBook.com notes that it's the first GTA game to release after OnlyFans became mainstream, making it “the most controversial parody in Rockstar's history”.

No official statement or explanation from Rockstar about the app's function within the game — the detail remains decorative, in the same spirit as other fictional companies/apps that build out the world of Leonida (such as the memecoin $CYBERLEEK, #95, part of the 2022 leak story).

Two official limited DualSense controllers for GTA VI — €84.99, preorders 10/9

Sony showed them at the 3 September State of Play and announced them the same day on PlayStation.Blog, with Rockstar co-signing: Black and White Limited Edition, with an iridescent center that shifts from purple to blue depending on the light, palm trees molded into the shell — not printed — and the “VI” on the touchpad. The white one is “Vice City at dawn”, the black one “its nightlife”. €84.99, preorders from 10 September at 10:00, launching 19 November alongside the game, in limited quantities. Inside they're standard DualSense: same haptics, same adaptive triggers (c-140) — you're paying for looks, not performance.

The part that affects us: the black one is exclusive to PlayStation Direct “where available” — and PS Direct doesn't serve Greece (its country selector, on 6/9, lists twelve European markets, none of them ours). So here both are retail-only, and nobody has said which retailers. We're checking on 10/9, the moment preorders open. One more thing: the story broke on the 3rd and went up here on the 6th — we were three days late. We explain why, and what we changed, on the How we work page. Evidence: c-164.

Take-Two: preorders “unprecedented and impressive” — but not a single number

The official results are in: net bookings of $1.39 billion for the April–June quarter (above target), full-year guidance unchanged at $8.0–8.2 billion. Strauss Zelnick called GTA 6 preorders “unprecedented and remarkable” — levels the industry “has never seen before” — but wouldn't give numbers: “we haven't sold a single copy yet”. 19 November was reconfirmed, “on track”. All the numbers on the Wall.

Rumor

Rumors of a PS5 Pro bundle — and a €999 “early access” package

After the earnings call, rumors of an official PS5 Pro bundle with GTA 6 flared up again — some even claim early access through a €999 package. Neither Sony nor Rockstar has confirmed anything; the only real bundles so far are individual retailers' own initiatives. We're treating it as exactly what it is: a rumor.

The stock: down at the open, closed +6% — and mind that “$1.39 billion”

The stock opened lower (next-quarter guidance came in below consensus) but turned around and closed at $246.50, +6% — the market latched on to the “unprecedented” preorders and the locked-in 19/11 date. And a correction we owe our readers: that $1.39 billion covers the entire company (NBA 2K, GTA Online, etc.) — it is not GTA 6 preorder revenue, as some reports claimed.

On the $80 Standard edition: “a AAA game genuinely costs less today than it did 20 years ago”. He didn't rule out changes down the line.

RP isn't coming at launch — and why that matters
