Conflicting analyst estimate for PC — May 2027

Analyst Michael Pachter (Wedbush), in a TV interview on BBC, placed the PC version of GTA 6 around May 2027 — about two months later than GamesBeat's January-March 2027 window, without explaining his methodology. Recorded as a weaker, conflicting second estimate — the claim's Solid ceiling does not change.

New signal for the old Collector's Edition rumor — photos that got deleted

c-031 (a Rumor from June) got a fresh signal: on 9/9 an X account claimed to have worked on packaging for a “GTA 6 Collector's Edition” and posted photos of a box and warehouse pallets, then deleted them. No outlet confirmed them independently, Rockstar said nothing. The label stays Rumor — added only as a newer data point on the same open question, with no image link (leak policy: text only).

c-170 (8/9) had already inferred from five markets that GTA 6 unlocks at local midnight everywhere, with New Zealand first. The label stays Solid — Rockstar still hasn't said anything official.

The text and evidence_el were updated with the specific details (source: PA Media, same material as the previous AFP). The label stays Solid — these remain parties' claims, no verdict. A separate finding within the same court documents: a mention of a “32-player” online format that staff discussed privately — new claim c-176, with a Rumor ceiling because it comes from a leak, not from a Rockstar announcement about the game.

Result: no actual listing yet — only Greek press articles republishing Sony's announcement. The claim text has been updated so it no longer says “will be checked” but states what was actually found. Two stories around the game: China's blurred Leonida and the Miami that hesitates

The first: Rockstar uploaded the regular version of “An Extended Look” to its official Bilibili channel, and on 31 August replaced it with a censored one — blurs over lit cigarettes, blood, underwear and dancing. The nightlife stretch is almost unrecognisable: in one shot Jason walks through a crowd blurred in its entirety. On Rockstar's own site inside China the video plays uncensored — so it isn't a blanket policy, it's one platform's copy (c-168). The second: Miami-Dade County — the real city behind Vice City — is in talks with Rockstar about a campaign on its public transit and its buildings. The sheriff, a commissioner and the chief judge reacted publicly; the county says nothing has been approved (c-169). Both are Solid, not Confirmed: Rockstar hasn't said a word about either.

The Archive had “Mature 17+ (ESRB)” as final — no rating has come out yet

Entry c-027 had said since August “Age rating: Mature 17+ (ESRB)”, sourced to PlayStation promotional emails via one site. Today three sources were checked at the same time and they agree on the opposite: on the game's page on playstation.com the age rating reads “ESRB Rating Pending Mature 17+”, that is, pending; a search of the ESRB's own database finds no record for Grand Theft Auto VI; and the PEGI database returns zero results. So “Mature 17+” is the publisher's stated expectation, not a board decision. The label stays Solid — correctly, as it was — but the text has stopped saying more than we know. When the final rating comes out it will bring the content descriptors too; then it moves up to Confirmed.

“PS5 Pro Enhanced” was always on Sony's page — we knew it from reporting

For nine days the Archive said “the game will have PS5 Pro enhancements”, with a Solid label and one article as the source. Today we opened the game's page on playstation.com and the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” badge was there, twice, next to the title's other features — along with Sony's phrasing that the game releases “for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro” on 19 November. The fact has an owner: “PS5 Pro Enhanced” is Sony's badge, and Sony says it on its own channel. So Confirmed (c-116). Two things that do NOT change, and are worth saying plainly: nowhere on that page is there a promise about frame rate — not 60, not 40, not even for the Pro. The badge says “enhanced”, not “faster”. And Rockstar North's head of development has said 30fps (c-163). The same page also brought a correction in the other direction: the age rating there reads “ESRB Rating Pending” — meaning it hasn't come out yet (c-027).

GTA 6 is officially “PS5 Pro Enhanced” — Sony itself states it on the game's page; what the enhancement includes, nobody has explained.

The new net, day one: Rockstar's statement on the leaks and two scams the Archive didn't have

The same day the method changed, we ran the new Detection Grid over the days 3–6 September — twelve fixed queries, the entire post list of PlayStation.Blog and Xbox Wire, the full State of Play lineup. Three different queries caught the DualSense controller; with the grid it wouldn't have been missed. And the net pulled up three more things that weren't in the Archive. First, and the most uncomfortable: Rockstar's own public statement on the leaks (26/8) — “heartbreaking for our team”, an apology for the delay, “almost ready” (c-165). Eleven days outside the Archive, while the CyberLeek saga had six entries: the old detection looked for the “official” only on Newswire, and Rockstar spoke on social. Second and third, from NordVPN's research (May): hundreds of fake Rockstar Social Club login pages on GitHub and Vercel (c-166) and an Android app “GTA 6 Beta” with no game inside, only ads and subscriptions (c-167). Old but active — and our scam beat rested on a single source. Everything else that came up was already in: running with L3 (c-119), the 30fps (c-163). The dates are honest: every entry says when the event happened and when it went in here.

GTA VI's two limited DualSense went into the Archive — three days after the announcement, and we say why

Sony announced on 3 September, at State of Play and on PlayStation.Blog, two limited-edition DualSense for GTA VI: €84.99, preorders 10/9, release 19/11 (c-164). The Daily Pulse of 4 September covered exactly that window and didn't see it. It wasn't luck — it was design: Detection ran on a channel list where PlayStation.Blog was checked once a week (Monday), “official” meant Rockstar only, and a Sony announcement about its own product didn't even have a source type that would allow “Confirmed”. The specialist PlayStation sites that would have headlined it (Push Square, GameSpot) are unreachable from the Pulse's environment, while PS Blog itself was open — it just wasn't in the day. What changed: a new source type “partner_official” (the fact has an owner — Sony is the primary authority for its own controller), platform holders and showcases on daily check, a new beat for hardware/editions/bundles, a fixed grid of queries that runs every day no matter how loaded it is, and a coverage table in the daily digest that states explicitly what wasn't looked at. Above all, one principle: open net, strict filter — no list limits where we search; the strictness lives in how we confirm. All of this is public on the “How we work” page.

Two pieces of evidence said that “Rockstar has not announced performance targets” — it was no longer true

c-033 and c-091 both carried the same phrase: that Rockstar has not announced performance targets for any platform. It was true when it was written on 29 and 31 August; it stopped being accurate from the moment Rockstar North's head of development spoke publicly about 30fps (28/8, c-163). The distinction that was missing and has now gone in: a written announcement of specs genuinely does not exist — but a statement from an executive does, and the two are not the same thing. No label changed: the 60fps rumor stays Rumor, DF's analysis stays The Read. All that changed is what the Archive claims we do not know.

0609
ADDITION

30fps stopped being only an analysts' read — the studio itself said it too

Until today the Archive said two things about performance: that Digital Foundry measured ~1440p/30fps in the Extended Look (The Read — outside the truth scale) and that some insiders talk about a 60fps performance mode (Rumor). The third was missing, and it had existed since 28 August: Rockstar North's own head of development, Rob Nelson, stated that the game runs at 30fps on consoles and that more options may be added later — with no commitment for launch. It goes in as Solid, not Confirmed: it reaches us as a journalist's summary, not as a direct quote, exactly like c-143 in September. The reader who asks “how many frames?” now has an answer inside the truth scale, not only next to it.

The “How you make money” guide said that in the story the money comes from the plot

The Day 1 guide read: “in the story the money comes from the plot and the big jobs”. After c-147 that is wrong — Rob Nelson says explicitly that the missions on their own do not pay enough and that the money is made in the open world, unlocking the next chapters. The prose was corrected, the guide was tied to five more pieces of evidence (c-147, c-154, c-157, c-158, c-159) and the g-money-hour gap stopped asking only “what pays how much per hour”: it now also asks how much each chapter demands in order to unlock. From an optimization guide it became a progression guide.

The subpoena that was sealed — and the scam that no longer steals passwords but wallets

Two pieces of evidence went in today, both of them from outside the game. First: the court approved a second Take-Two subpoena to Discord, narrower than the first ones and — for the first time — sealed, while the investigation into CyberLeek expanded to X and YouTube; the filing itself writes that it is developing “rapidly”. Second, and more urgent for anyone reading: the scam around GTA 6 has changed target. The fake “demo” stole passwords; the fake $50 “leaked copy” drains crypto wallets the moment you connect them, across eight networks, and downloads nothing. No legitimate game purchase asks you to connect a wallet.

Second pass over Famitsu — seventeen more pieces of evidence and three fewer open questions

Yesterday's reading of Rob Nelson's exclusive interview in Famitsu produced fourteen pieces of evidence. A second, complete pass over the Japanese original produced seventeen more — and three of them closed open questions of the Archive. The biggest one: the missions on their own do NOT pay enough money for the story to move forward — the money is made in the open world, and the open world has stopped being optional. Along with it: “Heat”, the investigation phase before the stars even light up, with its own geographic limits; the fence who removes the GPS trackers; the gym as a real minigame that raises base health and strength; the visible indicator of the bond; and the fact that in the duo heists you are the one who picks who drives and who shoots.
